It’s confirmed then, Sherwood it is.

Tim Sherwood

For once, I actually called something correctly and Tim Sherwood has been confirmed as our next manager.
I gave my reasons as to why I thought he might be the choice in the previous post, so I won’t go over that again.
What’s surprised me though, is how fast the deal has been done and I’m actually quite impressed.

There are two options as to how we’ve gone about things, in my opinion.
We’ve either panicked and done it all in what? two days?
Or this has been planned for a while and Fox has been negotiating with Sherwood quietly behind the scenes.
I suspect and hope it was probably the latter, although I can’t say I’d be pleased if that’s the way we go about business, ie doing a deal behind Lambert’s back. But this is Football and the whole game seems to have a different set of rules, doesn’t it?

So there we go, Sherwood it is then.

It’s good that we’ve appointed him before tomorrow’s game against Leicester, as I was quite prepared for us to lose, so we could concentrate all our energy on the league. Now that we have a manager though, my attitude has changed and I want us to go all out to win the game.

I won’t say it’s a stunning appointment, but I do think it’s a decent one, given our current requirements. Let’s hope Sherwood can hit the ground running eh?
I think we can expect some fireworks in the next few weeks, as it would seem he doesn’t mince his words, which is probably why some people dislike him with a passion.
Personally, I think this is exactly what’s needed, as many fans, even neutral ones, think that our team ought to be performing better than it is in reality.
Which to me says that certain players are far too comfortable.

I really don’t care who he falls out with, as long as he keeps us up.
Survival this season is all that counts for me and if he proves overly troublesome, we can sack him at the end of the season, even if it costs us three and a half year’s wages.
It’ll be pennies in the scheme of things. As long as we survive relegation.

Welcome aboard Tim and good luck.
I suspect you’ll need it.

Happy enough with the appointment think he will keep us up and get the best out of benteke, ooh ah doesn’t like him but he is involved in villa now so what else would you expect? I couldn’t give a shit if he falls out with players for playing crap, that’s exactly what should happen and what didn’t happen under lambert, he fell out with players over how much they were payed or breaking a stupid club rule and who knows what else, I don’t expect him to get the 59% win rate he had with spuds but i don’t think it’s even possible to do worse than lambert! And ooh ah your facts are all wrong again, u say u would hav mcleish over lambert but mcleish has in fact our worst win ratio, then u would hav lambert instead of sherwood and lambert is our 2nd worst manager for win ratio? Now I see u really only want the worst for villa, you are not a fan, you are an imposter just stirring shit!

No Kerry im sick and tired of people like you and badger slating anyone that dosnt agree with you and always classing them as negative. Tony Morley has said Sherwood is not the right man so has Collymore in fact a lot of articles are being written casting doubt on this it’s not just me. Go and have a fucking go at them or some else or you will be banned. Or better still fuck off to another site if your not happy reading comments that are opposite to yours!

No one’s claiming you can’t have a different opinion, however you should be the last one whining about getting slated for it, since all you’ve been doing is calling people sheep for claiming Sherwood should get time.

Freedom of speech? This coming from the guy that deleted two of my comments, not that I give a shit but the hypocrisy of that is simply stunning.
Leaving? Did I say that? No did I f**k, what I said on these now deleted comments was something along the lines of you are losing credibility due to you’re constant negativity but
with typical Oohah logic (Oohah – logic, now there’s best example of an oxymoron you ever did see) you delete the comments and then claim freedom of speech!
Laughable really but still par for the course.

I thought Tim did pretty well at Spurs, turning round a joke side under Jol into European slot earners. He may not have huge managerial experience, but he was a decent player at the top level and, he will shortly have experience of working with, no make that against, the 2 most toxic owners in the EPL.

Players’ reputations, service length, wage packets ought to count for nothing with this new broom. Thank goodness because the most established players are those giving the worst displays. There is a particularly irritating comment on the news section about Delph ‘not signing a contract extension if he had thought we might get relegated’. This proves how deluded the guy is. In the 58 years I have been following Villa no player who passed 100 games for the team has a worse win to games started ratio than Fabian Delph. In fact his time at the club exactly coincides with it becoming a basket case.

Not sure where you’re coming from with your first comment. Sherwood came in after AVB in 2013. Jol was there from 2004 – 2007.

Understanding his post match interviews is a massive plus for me….The fact he is not afraid to drop players who are lazy is worrying as we may have to play 5-a side

Jokes aside come on lads I know he wasn’t everyones first choice, but with the greatest of respect he has some balls just for taking on the poisoned chalice. And lets give mr fox a positive too, he has acted swiftly and been calculated….. what a proper football ceo should be.

Morning all, think somebody’s throwing dummies out of prams again, when we post comments it says RIGHT OR WRONG WHAT DO YOU THINK . I say what we’ve been through the need was to get rid of the problems, now rightly or wrongly we have a new manager, we have to get behind the man to support our team, its the right thing to do, only time will tell if its the wrong thing to do, at least we got rid of one problem. Today’s game I’m saying 3-2 Villa, so come on, am I right.

I believe Gil is injured for tonight’s clash. Good to see Bacuna starting in which looks like maybe his correct position. Sinclair deserves the bench as does Gaby. Not a bad lineup and id expect Gil to be back in for Cleverly when back. Finally Weimann and Benteke together up front
