Hull 0 – 0 Villa; A point, but poor

Hull City v Aston Villa by dm_52509f10ef1d3

I actually thought this was an interesting game in the first half.
The two counter-attacking teams were pretty evenly matched and Hull actually sat back even more than we do at home.
Gabby had the best chance with a shot down the middle that stung the goalie’s hands, but that apart there was little to talk about.

Second half, I thought Bruce brought them out to attack us more, which I thought might play into our hands, but the truth is we lacked any cutting edge, the same as Hull did.
The game then retreated to a situation where both sides looked like they would be happy with a point, which is basically what we got.

Tedious probably sums it up and I really don’t know what else to say.

A couple of points.

Hull are extremely poor and are one of my faves to go down (what does that say about us?).

Kuzak? Sorry, I just don’t see it. Far too lightweight for a tall Prem striker, but early days.
Weimann? No comment.

Foul throws? Three this season and two in this game alone. That’s so bloody basic, each offence should be a week’s wages fine. I learned this at the age of seven and if Prem players don’t know this one, well I don’t know what to say.

I have to say, I thought the defence did everything expected of them, but that’s not really saying a lot, as Hull looked as toothless as us.

How we missed Benteke today.

The point is, this should have been three points in the bag, as Hull are really poor.

Ah well, the Villa all over, I guess.

As you may have gathered, I’m not a happy bunny today.

Big plus point; The Villa fans sounded immense on the telly.
Well done lads.

  1. Andrew, you’re wasting your time time with that clown Ooh ah.

He wants us to spend millions and we’re only worth watching if we’re in the title shake up.

Who knows, with a couple of dozen world class players and a ten point lead in the league, Ooh ah might even get a ticket lol !

Most of us know where we are, and wish Lambert success on building and improving sides.

Others have just become boring parodies of themselves with the ridiculousness of their posts. (We haven’t won anything for years, etc, etc.).

    No shit.

    1. Indeed, oohah strikes me as the kind of so called fan (I use the word fan in the loosest possible sense), who sits praying that we lose so he can come online and slag the club, chairman, players and manager off. Thats support for you right there!
I gather he described Benteke as Heskey mark 2 when he arrived, now Kozak is the same. The concept of time seems irrevelant to oohah.
And this constant Lerner do one, Lerner out, etc is pointless. It is HIS club. He can do what he wants. Its not as if there is a queue of people waiting to buy the club anyway.

We should at least have spent the same amount as Southampton and Swansea Ffs. But don’t worry vaze il give them time!!!

      1. Southampton spent 40m Euros, Swansea spent 23m Euros, Villa spent 21.8m Euros. So we did spend around the same amount as Swansea…

Time will tell Andrew but i think we could have spent the money better this summer.. obv when you spend 1-3M in players its hard to get all bargains..

But i suppose it does seem that Bacuna and Okore will turn out to be bargains.. just such a shame that Okore has got such a long term injury.. he would have been a top player come start of next season…

We should be spending more than Swansea Ffs

          1. But you just claimed we should have spent around the same amount… Villa did spend around the same amount. Now it’s we should be spending more.

  2. Managed to watch the game last night. Not a great deal to comment on. What a load of dross, a worrying lack of invention up front, Kozak is still gonna need a few games to adjust to the pace, he’s still playing Serie A football at the moment. Gabby looked off the pace which is understandable but should have scored. Bad management on the part of Lambert for bringing Westy straight back in. Sylla should have kept his place. Defence looked nice and organized for once but wasn’t really a test for them to be honest.

Fair play to Hull, they did well at the back as well and I think they’ll stay up this year, Bruce has them playing well at home.

7 points from the last 9 is a good return, this was a game I was worried we would lose in the last 20 minutes after some dodgy defending but I was wrong thankfully.

Bring on Spurs,I reckon it will be a very different game now it’s the league, think the lads will be up for it.

Bloody international break, yawn, can’t wait to see the same old faces in an England shirt being picked on name alone regardless of form, corrupt it is.

Spot on mark internationals are shite. Players picked in reputation and which club they play for pathetic. Kojak is poor IMO he certainly needs to bulk up for the prem as well
