I’ve had enough of this shit.
I didn’t see the game, but listened to it on AVTV.
And what a bloody waste of £5 a month it’s turned out to be.
Why the hell do I keep putting myself through the same crap where we can’t win a game?
I really want RDM to do well for us, but the plain fact is we were getting battered again for at least the first hour.
Given our squad, this is never right in a million years and I’m quite simply fucking fuming at having conceding a last minute goal yet again.
You can defend the manager all you like, but the plain and simple fact is that this team has no resilience or bollocks about it.
And Gollini?
He had nothing to do all game from what I heard, but the minute the ball comes into the box, he flaps and we concede.
Fucking joke and how he’s getting games over experienced goalies is beyond me.
OMG, I’m stuck for words.
Get this prick of a manager out and get either fat Sam or Pearson in.
They couldn’t possibly be any worse.
I might even put myself up for the job, as at least I’d play Ayew in the middle!
I can’t believe we were battered, went on to take the lead and then threw it away again.
Words fail me.
In case I didn’t make it clear, RDM OUT!
and that would have stood even if we’d won tonight.
Time to drop the keeper. Westwood and Bacuna should have been replaced already. Unless we sort these three positions out, we will continue as we have been.
Blimey norwich are worse than us. Conceded 2 goals in injury time! Unbelievable
That Dean Smith rumour is a nice easy one.
I’m not convinced myself, but you never know.
I’m still struggling to get over that load of rubbish last night, although I accept I might have been a bit rash in my manner of posting, for which I apologise if I went over the top and offended anyone.
I still think RDM’s time is running out and he needs to get wins, sharpish, as it simply isn’t good enough.
No matter how you slice and dice it, we should have beaten at least some of the teams we’ve played.
The commentary last night was what made me flip. They were basically saying we’re utter rubbish!
And while that might have been correct in the Prem, it’s simply unacceptable in a mediocre Championship (the better clubs apart).
I don’t profess to know what the solution is, but it’s a results-based game and RDM isn’t getting them.
I have some sympathy I was watching BBC Sport live and when that goal went in 89th minute my poor tablet nearly got thrown against the wall.
It is incredibly frustrating and I wish I knew what the answer was.
Just not sure that ditching the manager this early on is going to do much good especially when I really don’t like any of the possible replacements.
Honestly think if we could just scrape a win we might start to get some traction.
Always thought Dwight Gayle was class and Shelvey had an absolute stormer, pulling the strings. 3 goals flattered Norwich. Newcastle could have easily had 6.
A few weeks ago so many people on here were saying that we had had a great transfer window, I totally disagreed, we had a very busy window, which was completely opposite to our last window, when Remi Garde wasn’t allowed to spend a single penny! A busy window doesn’t mean a good one, in my view we bought quantity over quality, I know a couple of Bristol City fans who couldn’t believe they got £15 M for Kodjia, and £12 M for McCormack, I know he’s got a great goal scoring record in the Championship but £12 mil for a 32 yr old seems crazy. I remain to be convinced that our defence is any stronger, especially with Golinni in goals, and our recruitment in midfield as been woeful. Well, RDM can’t say he’s not been backed financially, unlike our previous manager, the pressure is truly on, I would’ve loved to have seen what Remi Garde would’ve done with the same backing.
we overpaid for all or most of players, along with selling sinclair for peanuts (he nearly at double figures already)
our back up defenders are mutton richards, midfield wastewood and gg
Think Sinclair would have done well in the Championship. Didn’t realise McCormack is 32! What was the point of buying him? Effectively £12m for one season, as we were expecting to get promoted off the back of the investement and he would not be good enough for the Prem.
prices we paid has nothing to do with fans or players. i believe all the players we recruited will all do a decent job. we paid wot we had too, otherwise why would the selling club release um. kodija i think he will be a real asset in getting us promoted. why would Bristol city accept what we think hes worth. we should commend the new chinese backers, who made sure, we got most off the managers targets.
i am still in the camp wanting the manager to have more time. but i would understand if saturday was his last game. we are one win away from a decent run. i am clueless to the reason behind this nightmare. but i don’t believe we should be focused on goalie mistakes or defensive errors as reason why, i believe we should be scoring more goals, so not relying on one goal being enough
McCormack has just turned 30! He is a good signing, as is Kodjia although I agree we overpaid for him.
Im worried about our midfield though as Jedinak has struggled so far, Tshibola is injury prone…and Westwood….well….
I haven’t made my mind up about Elphick either, in some ways Baker is unlucky to be on the bench.
Regardless, on paper we have one of the top two teams in the Championship. Only Newcastle should be able to live with us and maybe Norwich, but instead we are 17th!!
You are right Benno, McCormack is 30, my mistake. Don’t get me wrong, I do quite rate him, but I can’t help thinking that for £27 mil we could’ve got better than Mac and Kodjia, hope I’m proved wrong!
Looks like our old friend Erik Black is about to get exposed by the papers!
I know – let’s knock everything we do.
Hitch, I’m not sure that’s fair.
I don’t think anyone has criticised our player recruitment overall.
But there was a fair bit of doubt about the manager, particularly over what he’s actually built and his seeming lack of being able to motivate.
The fact that it seems the manager has asked Xia to do a video pep talk backs the latter point up and frankly amazes me.
It’s this lack of motivation that’s the reason I don’t believe RDM will ever be the sort we need at the Villa.
I see that Collymore has said he’d take Pearson in a heartbeat.
And I think it’s for the same reason.
And before anyone slates Pearson as a nutter, it should be noted that I’ve read the Derby owner is even worse!
Which in fairness makes me wonder why he turned us down and went to Derby.
Fair enough Badger – I shouldn’t post after a couple of bottles of wine – so apologies for offending anyone raising legitimate concerns. Now going to nurse my hangover 🙂
No offence taken Hitch, as you say just a legitimate concern. Hence it wasn’t offensive in my book 😀
Because he’s a bit tapped perhaps?
The Telegraph have opened Pandoras Box and Allardyce was the pastry with the key!
*patsy
The chairman having to make a motivational video requested by the manager WTF, that shows how much faith RDM has in his own lack of ability to this.I bet the changing room is absolutely buzzing with determination, hunger & eagerness to win don’t make me 😀
Perhaps not a bad idea so long as it’s a short video –
Dr. Tony faces camera and smiles ‘Win games or P45’
That’s it.
For Giddy, .Stan rejects Nuneaton move
We’ve received word that Stiliyan Petrov has turned down the opportunity to link up with Nuneaton Town in the National League North. The midfielder was wanted by the Boro on a player/coach basis but has elected to focus on his coaching badges instead
Cheers bill I thought he’d be punching a bit higher mate, that’s no disrespect to Nuneaton. Good lick to him
Luck ffs *
Ok lads, any thoughts on today’s game? I’m going for a win today and only 1 goal in it. Up the Villa.
Imo compared to recent weeks Preston should be beatable even ollie has us down for a 0-2 win.for the first time in a while I’ll go 1-3 VILLA. If we don’t even manage a draw then taxi for Robbie enoughs enough Utv
Under Simon Grayson, Preston have been a team which are hard to score against, especially at home where their defence is usually pretty miserly. I wouldn’t be surprised at a 1-1 draw, expect great performances from ex-villans Callum Robinson and Daniel Johnson!
