West ham – Villa; Preview

So after all the lack of activity in the transfer window, it seems we have a game tonight.

Does anyone really care?

While the immediate response might be to say “no”, it’s still a game in a league where we’re trying to survive and it’s still important, I suppose.

I could rattle on about squads, but it doesn’t really matter, does it?

West Ham have quite a few injuries, whereas we have very few out that really matter.
Even our supposed goalscorers in Gestede and Kozak being out makes little difference, because they just don’t score anyway, do they?

Prediction?
Another load of crabby possession type footy, where Westwood looks decent, that ultimately achieves nothing.
And a 2-0 loss, where Gabby starts and does what he usually does. Ie less than nothing.

Fortunately, there’s no hope of me seeing the torture, so I’m relying on you lot to keep me updated.
If I can be bothered to look, at the late hour it’ll be played out over here.

I’m sorry if that seems overly short, but I’ve had it with the Villa for today.
The club overall has no ambition whatsoever and I really don’t see why I should care in the slightest, at the moment.

Hopefully normal service will be resumed later.

Just watched mofd that lad wizzi that garde wanted outstanding, hit better corners in one half than our dickheads all year Hart man of match why didn’t fox Reilly spot him

    1. Computer said No.

    1. Them boys on 7500 something or other really don’t get the strength of feeling towards our glorious leader.

It’s because they’re 7500 miles away from the Holte End…lol!!!!

Actually no, it is a different culture in USA. Sarcasm and Irony really go over their heads, they take things literally which everyone in England recognises as sarcasm. Lerner himself will get the message, he had it before with the Cleveland Browns, he just has no idea how to run a football club.

        1. OLL, think I’ve said before, my lad deals daily even nightly with the Yanks they are as you’ve said deadly in business, Lerner has seen the chance in business to again strip and make money, I put this on Ellis being taken in, he must have known this Yanks history even with Brown’s plight. The Yank should be looked at by the CBI over his methods in this country in dealings, seen this yank play a pub buying drinks and bragging, then giving fans free coach’s to games, then over paying for property to get close to the training grounds, he gets what he wants what ever it cost, he’s out for money. He has no regrets in upsetting anyone, a bad man to know in doing business with. The time will come as Hitch said gettin his money then selling cheap when he says he will, me not a penny will go into Villa from me or my family till he goes. A deadly shit of a person.

Bunch of pussies. Ok, so nobody is wishing death on him, but maybe this translates the depth of feeling and hatred towards the greedy, lying, incompetent idiot. Lerner seems pretty oblivious to everything else that goes on in B6.

  2. Just watched Ayew’s elbow. he looked first then made contact, a clear red. What he was thinking of I don’t know.

Come on guys, we’re totally f**ked, we’re going down but can’t we do it with a little bit of class?

Betting scam imo. A lot of very strange decisions ref was in on it too by looks of things imho

  3. Started the game brightly, but even when we are on top and playing some decent football, we manage to f— it up. Crazy red card from one of our only decent performers this season. So that now leaves us with just Gabby up front. Wonderful.

There is no point analyzing the game after that. We are rubbish with XI men, so we all knew what would happen next. Nothing is going our way right now, and if we dont beat Norwich on Saturday then even the 2% chance that we still have of staying up will be gone!!

    1. 0.2% you mean 🙂

I see the Brum mail are suggesting Sellars might get a game on Saturday.
    Good, get him in.
It might not be the best ida to bring a kid into this struggling side, but he can’t possibly be any worse than Gabby can he?

  5. A striker of a pub team is better than shabby.

        2. Doesn’t des bremner look like he’s had a life his face looks weather beaten & I thought Dennis could of done his hair for the camera.we’ll never see those days again very sad indeed. 🙁

          1. *HARD life FFS

          2. Giddy Evans had a great long throw on him, Rory who?

          3. He could throw the ball further than the present crap corner takers can kick it.

      2. Gary Shaw, Gary Shaw, Gary Gary Shaw, when he’s got the ball he’s sure to score, Gary, Gary Shaw!!

  6. Why aren’t the Birminghma Mail journos knocking on Ellisis and Foxs door?
Why aren’t they doing what journalists are suppose to do, ask questions?
If Ellis and Fox refuse to be interviewed that’s a story in itself,.
    Print and shame them.
Why instead of the dire nonsensical naive obvious reporting by the likes of Kendrick who only has noncontroversial and interesting things to say can’t the editor insist on some real journalism?
Why aren’t they going for the big stories?

    1. Ted Doug Ellis doesnt know what day it is, he’s had 3 cancer ops and his age now 90 plus, how he managed business God knows. Ted he’s got to take some blame for this.

    2. badger123 avatar
      badger123

Dead right Ted, but unfortunately I suspect if they ask the wrong questions, they won’t get any access at all because of the Gestapo attitude that the club has of late.

  7. O them happy days BWS, tell you a little story about Garry, I was in the Saltley amateur Gardner’s club and we got talking he asked me to keep a ear open in the trinity stand of a fan that constantly staged him off, he said every home game he could hear this geezer above other fans, I found him solved his problem, and what a player he was a local lad at that. He was found playing in a amateur league in Castle Bromwich cracking footballer.fat lad today though.

    1. Fat lad to day though. Lol, I bet he’d love to hear that.

      1. BWS, he did work at the time for a brewery company , think it was a rep, God he did put it on.

        1. Tetley Carlsberg saw him reppin at the land rover social club Solihull.

          1. Still doing it then Giddy, when the time I seen him was 8 years ago he actually played with my nephew when younger.

          2. Don’t know MATE I saw him in 93 if my memories correct,I think he’s working abroad now doing what not sure possibly something to do with booze.

  8. Apologies Bill it should have said Hollis

    1. Hi Ted, both as bad as each other., lol

The other shop full of Ligue 1 riff-raff will be joining us in the Championship it seems.

Newcastle going down 3-0 to Everton. The Ship of Fools (their away nickname before barcodes) have a long history of trying outlandish schemes to find a miracle formula that will return them to imagined glory. They fail and never give any manager long enough. This is their second, maybe third season of trying to turn youngsters from the French league into gritty all weather performers needed on English winter evenings. It has been a spectacular flop, which Villa’s board overlooked when trying the same.

We have one too many Lerners but no learners from others’ mistakes.

There’s always the Neville Chuckle Brothers we can turn too if Garde leaves! Lost 7.0 to Barca lol he’s crap without his iPad!

Again parts of the media are saying publically what we’ve been saying for ages:

    http://www.skysports.com/watch/tv-shows/sunday-supplement/news/10118235/aston-villa-getting-what-they-deserve-says-matt-law

    1. And well said Matty Laws, he’s got more balls than Mat (we don’t rock the bout around here) Kendrick at the B’ham Mail (allegedly).

      1. OohAhPaulMcGrath avatar
        OohAhPaulMcGrath

Kendrick has to toe the corporate line or risk getting banned from BMH. Which is why everything he writes is neutral and not worth reading. Not his fault I guess he’s got no choice. But the media and politicians per se have to answer to their paymasters. Probably why Trump is popular he finances himself and is in noones back pocket because of this. It’s the way of the world and anything outside the mainstream is frowned upon by liberal left media and politicians including football

  11. Another board member arrives. We’ll be registering Fox, Hollis, Riley and Almstadt as players at this rate!!

    1. At least the Baron King of Lothbury is a fan and he can join our other noble; Randy -The King of Barren Villa.

  12. Hitchens 60 avatar
    Hitchens 60

Actually I think the appointment of King is a positive not negative move. I’m still unhappy about Hollis as Chairman and I want to hear more of this so called repositioning of the club to get us back to the top of football – better find a new owner with plenty of dosh next then!

  13. It’ll be nice to see a genuine VILLA fan on board (pardon the pun) maybe he could be the voice of the fans & actually see what the FUCKs going on.KING doesn’t come over as a yes man but I could be wrong I have more faith in him than Hollis.whoever comes in its too late now & certainly a window of opportunity missed PS I still think he’s SHITE at darts.

    1. Hitchens 60 avatar
      Hitchens 60

I’m with you Giddy – to have a real Villa fan on Board and someone who’s used to both standing up to serious players and to media interrogation has to be a positive – would have preferred him as chairman as I really don’t have any faith in Hollis.

      1. Let’s not worry lads Lerners got this in hand, next 3 in on the board are as followed, Prince William, Cameron, Tom Hanks, think we might have a chance then,? What a cock up.

  14. Well now that’s a score I wouldn’t have expected –

    New Board 3 – 0 New Players

Is Remi expected to play King at right back or something?

  15. It says something when a club brings in more board members than players in the the window,I wonder if their any good kicking a ball couldn’t be any worse.

    1. OohAhPaulMcGrath avatar
