btw yes nath the press are having a field day with lambert just because he was stupid enough to say what other managers wouldn’t but do no doubt agree with and then for other managers to come out going ‘oh no we love the fa cup its so important’ is so two faced its unreal, united pulled out o fit altogether a couple of seasons ago didn’t they so they could go play some tinpot world club championship in the far east. bloody hypocrites!

The notion is a complete joke!

Well most on here have the view and i agree relegation would be disasterous .But don;t think we will have any option unless one of three things happen i;e Lerner sells and somebody comes in willing to invest vast sums of money 2 Lambert drops his loony idea of young & hungry or Lerner sacks him him and brings in a manager whom he can trust to spend what ever investment he makes is spent wisely to keep us in the PL.3 we grit our teeth take it on the chin knowing that Villa will for a lot longer than the last time we got relegated to become the force we should be.

I have thought about this as well, but I agree with the majority, relegation is never a good thing. It shouldn’t get to the stage where we’re even thinking about it, that’s the problem. Yes, Newcastle bounced back well and finished 6th if I remember but if we went down, we’d stay down and for a long time as well I think; The Championship is arguably a harder league. Definitely more physical and scrappy. AVFC don’t do griity, physical and scrappy.

Relegation would be disastrous. Thankfully over half way through the season there are nine teams beneath us.

For the Newcastles and Saints that have gone down and are currently a place above us, there are teams like Portsmouth, Leeds, Derby, Blues, the Sheffields, Wolves etc who are struggling in the lower reaches and have fallen light years behind financially.

It’s like those that bemoan the FA Cup losing status.

Do you want £60m or a season’s glory ? A fan can give an easier answer than an owner.

Unfortunately as a fan, the game has moved on.

IDE rather stay in the PL than win a cup and have the chance to drop.Maybe have a good go at it when we are strong enough

No to relegation, I fear that would be the end of us if it were to happen and we would struggle to get back up any time soon. spurs blog linking us to Holtby today, from the writers ITK source – http://spursdreamer.blogspot.co.uk/2014/01/holtby-to-villa.html If this happens I would be very happy, perfect type of player we need at the moment, works hard but also has quality to his game.

MD8…?. Yes I saw the Lewis Holtby link. It supposedly comes from a ‘very reliable’ ITK guy who is close to Spurs. Would be a very good acquisition….but would we meet his wage demands?

Yeh that’s the one I’ve been looking at LV mate. Looks like he hasn’t been getting much playing time so a drop in wages my not be too unrealistic. Although I have no idea what he’s currently on..

Going down would be disastrous. Players such as Guzan, Delph, Vlaar, Benteke and Kozak would certainly move on so that would be another rebuilding job needed. I am tired of this transitional period. What we need is significant investment in the summer and funds made available during this window. I see West Ham are now linked with Lescott on loan. FFS, if they can get him, surely we can! Lescott on loan, Holtby/Defour and Hoolihan would see us comfortably mid table this season IMO! Time to release the moths from your wallet Randy. I think with wages we are only talking about 10 mil to get these three deals done!

Unfortunatly if Villa were to go down i just think the budget would be cut even more and there would be a very real chance of back to back relegations like Wolves, We are in one hell of a mess, am i the only one dreading the Arsenal match next week for fear of a really embarasing result. I feel we will just stay up this season but with another summer of lambert selling and buying players relegation next season seems a certainty. After he has made this awfull squad worse following another 2 transfer windows surely the lucky wins against the likes Arsenal and man City earlier this season will not happen twice in two years and we could be relegated by March We are a sinking ship no matter how much people look for a bit of light there really isnt any.

Holtby and defour would be better than what we currently have but Hoolihan is not good enough at all the Norwich fans i know would drive him to Villa Park he is on a par with what we already have and thats simply not good enough

Lewis Holtby is about as good as Delph. This Defour link is total garbage as many have stated already on here. More likely to sign some no-mark from Clermont Foot, whoops, we’ve already done that!
I see the West Spam board have released a statement backing their manager.
And the Villa “board”, nothing well there’s a shock.
      Lamberk OUT!

I think it’s a fanciful notion that we would come back stronger from relegation. It may not even get Lambert sacked as he has proven he can get teams promoted!
As for the links Holtby would be an improvement, so would Defour and Hoolahan. We might do better saving the money and buying new boots for Wemann, Benteke and even Gabby as the ones they wear don’t shoot straight.

I’m bloody glad that after my rant you all feel the same, you don’t give in you fight, let’s get two good midfielders of some standing and another back, get them young inexperienced players to start creating moves and we might get 10th at the best, as you can all see people are moving away from the club and we don’t need that, do we?.. we fight to be best.

Terry-Terry mate, come away from this we are doomed , Doomed, its now open window month, let’s see if the prick has balls, Lambert has by now got the message, we are not happy with him and his idea of change the footballing system that he thinks, is not the way to go. Maybe when he bloods player later it might come home, excuse after excuse from individual fans like your saying is not going to help, is it. I’m as mad as the next fan and we have that right, I would think that meetings are taking place we just have wait and see. Terry you like me are true Villa fans, let’s see what this idiot does in the next few days. 🙂

Relegation would be a disaster, but it is something I fully expect with the current manager in charge.

The squad we have would not even be competitive in that league

Bill Villa will always be close to my heart but as for Lamberk changing can;t see that to stubborn and an ego that makes him think he is a footballing god.The only thing in my opinion that just may wake him up is to feel the full wrath of the VILLA fans as there is still those out there willing to defend him.I have thought of writing an open letter to Mat Kendrick at the Birmingham Mail hoping he may pass it on to Lamberk but don;t think Lamberk can read.As when i red in Friday,s Mail comments made by Rodney Marsh that Villa are now in the PLs hangers on league it makes my blood boil to think that one man our club to this as to what people think of us.
