There is still a good chance that Villa might see one or two more new players by the end of the transfer window. Paul Lambert has said that the arrival of Tom Fox would aid Lambert in securing key targets. It’s believed that Villa are still interested in signing two more attacking minded players. A new winger and another attacking midfielder still remain on Lambert’s wish-list, however no new targets have been reported by the press.
Despite Aston Villa’s lack of goals, Lambert is not interested in dipping into the transfer market for a new striker especially with Benteke and Kozak close to full fitness. The return of Darren Bent has also help add numbers in the forward department with Callum Robinson and Michael Drennan scoring goals in the academy.
Ever since the departure of Paul Faulkner, Lambert has been solely responsible for any transfer activity within Villa Park and he’s done quite well. Senederos, Cissokho and Richardson have all blended into the side well and have made an impact in strengthening that sides defence.
“If I can do it and I think it’s right for the club, and everything is good financially and players want to come then it’s something I would look at,” said Lambert.
“Until you get that far then… wait and see. But we are trying.”
Since there haven’t been many players linked recently, but most fans believe that any additional signing would most likely be loan deals with Lewis Holtby and Scott Sinclair being two players that fans would like to see at the club. The pair would definitely light up Villa Park this season and most importantly, give the team additional options in attack.
Welcome home Adam123 I’ve missed your take on Villa over the last few weeks, just finished watching u/tube 80/81 season to cheer myself up, god could we do with them new, Adam hope your right the book still open on two more players, but seems quite from the camp, also the sale of the club gone away, 26 th today no time really left, I’m a little disbelieving on what being said over the last few days from posters, hope I’m wrong but yes we still need created player and striker to go forward.

Gardner to go to Brighton on loan until January with an option to extend. This, I find quite strange having handed him a new two year contract. If KEA goes back to Holland it does suggest that PL has an attacking midfielder he wants to bring in – possibly on loan?
Mate possibly your reading a bit deep in to that, he’s obviously getting no game time so a loan move would suit both parties.if we start picking up injuries in that dept he can easily be called back.
gardner just needs a run of games and quite honestly would you want, him learning in the 1st team. at brighton he will play regular and his strength, stamina and game will improve without affecting our 1st team. iam happy 2 send out the bright new youngsters or fringe players this will make um hungry chelsea had around 30 players out on loan last year saves money and improves individuals reverse footy cant be much cop these days
if kea and gardner do leave i can see a experienced midfielder coming in before the window shuts
I agree. What he needs is regular game time and unless he comes onto the pitch for villa and lights the world up, scores 3 goals and sets up another 3, PL isn’t going to play him in consecutive games… and let’s be honest at 22 years old, that’s really what he needs to progress. Look at how much Delph came along once he was able to play a run of games and allowed to make the odd mistake whilst doing so… A good move for him, I think. I hope he comes back in the same way Grealish did.
i met gary shaw too coming out of the cork and bottle boldmere road i knock him off his feet as im a big lad he flet straint to the floor lol he came running out the door never seen me and went straint over never even said sorry lol
Geoff not surprised he did drink used the Saltley amateur club to play snooker a lot, he had one worry in life, that being he could hear one joker in the crowd slagin him at every match, I did cure that for him.great asset to Villa Gary shore.
Bill he worked for Carlsberg tetley in the early 90’s met him at a drinks exhibition in Solihull possibly that job helps you take up drinking,I’d fucking love it. 😀
Sinclair wanted? If anyone wants Sinclair at Villa I’d seriously question their mindset. Garbage player.
Holtby on loan seems possible, although unlikely as he seems one of their key sub players. Don’t quite think either will be chosen if 1-2 creative players comes in, as Sinclair’s not creative in anyway and Spurs might be looking to keep him.
Gardner on loan is a great move for us. Possible 4 months of playing time will do him well.
