Young forward Graham Burke has joined League One side Shrewsbury Town on loan until January. The 19-year old forward was lined up for a loan move earlier, however due to his involvement in some of Aston Villa’s pre-season games, that was delayed. But now, Shrewsbury manager Graham Turner is delighted to have finally captured his man.
“We’ve been after him for a few months, but his involvement with Villa delayed the signing,” – Graham Turner
Burke is a young Irish international who performed very well in the NextGen cup. He deserves some playing time and I hope he plays well, I think I’d prefer if he stayed out on loan throughout the entire season, but obviously if he isn’t doing well, he might get loaned out else where.
Lambert is also planning on loaning out a few more youth players and give them some vital experience in some of the lower leagues. András Stieber is one player that is also likely to be sent out on loan this season.
It’s a great loan for him. Their whole forward line is young so he should fit right in.
I think this is a very good move. Now to move Clark out on loan in the Championship, get him some more experience, get the rash challenges out of him and see if what comes out the other side is PL (Premier League or Paul Lambert) quality.
Great for Burke, I really hope he impresses and progresses well.
