It’s a bit last minute as I’ve been stood still on the M5 for half an hour and I haven’t really thought about what to think, if you know what I mean. You’d think I could have put that time to good use thinking about it, but it doesn’t work like that, does it? All you can think about is moving forward as soon as possible.
Anyway, because it’s late, it’s brief and for some strange reason, I think we’re going to win. I don’t know why, because our football is terrible to watch, but the facts are undeniable. We keep piling the wins up.
Betting against us is probably a daft idea.
Squad news then and Mings’ ongoing injury apart, the only concern is Ross Barkley, who tweaked something or other and could be out for up to three months from what I’ve read. He’s chasing a new contract. Would I give him one?
Not a chance. Couple this injury with his “personal issues” previously, there’s no way I’d do it, but it seems Emery is a lot more accomodating than me and to be fair, he has played pretty well for us.
As for Brighton. they’re not in such a good position. Adam Webster is a good few weeks away, while James Milner, Kaoru Mitoma, Solly March and Tom Watson are all at least a fortnight off.
I’m expecting Brighton to come at us and that should play into our hands, which is probably why they have a terrible record against us.
This isn’t going to be anything like that dreary Wolves game, where they played the low block. We’re frankly clueless against that tactic.
So assuming they do come at us, I can’t see anything other than a win.
2-1 to us then.
UTV!

I’m lost for words lads, that match had me on the end of my seat, ready to slate Bizot off for missing the cross, thought he should have had the shot but was deflected, Ollie for a soft shot on goal, but seeing all the replays changed my mind. Villa was knowing that the game wasn’t over and lads we had an excellent game to play and won. Full marks to the team and Unia for the touch line entertainment , what a game let’s keep it going, fans were magnificent a few thousand braving the night and showing the league there is a top team in the midland it’s Aston Villa.
If we stuff the Gooners, which isn’t that likely except we are now the masters of come-backs, the pundit pages will be full of Arteta’s rants at everybody and everything that allowed it to happen. The match report won’t be about the Villa – it never is. I will enjoy reading them though.
I see Infantino is up Trumps fundamental orifice once again.
Makes a mockery of football but then it is ‘money, money, money’ FIFA.
Football is no longer the game of the ordinary man (sorry person). I’ll get my hat ………..
