Many of us had real fears about losing this one and so it turned out.
My predicted draw was looking in the bag, but we never really looked like scoring did we?
And what about that first half? I struggle to recall such a poor performance from two teams in the top flight, ever.
Even before the goal, the fact that Guzan had made the better saves in this game says it all and it’s simply not good enough. I even went so far as to think that Palace would probably nick it.
I now believe we stand every chance of going down, as we create absolutely nothing, especially at home.
How can it be that we are reduced to this?
I’m thoroughly despondent after that display, so am cutting it short. I just feel sick to the stomach.
But I will say one thing.
While I heard many boos and jeers, I never heard anyone calling for Lambert’s head.
I’m perplexed as to why.
Unless of course, most agree with me, in that we won’t appoint a decent replacement or give a new manager any money to spend.
Please, Lerner, do something or we’re doomed.

Don’t think there can be any arguments, Lambert’s time at Aston Villa should be drawing to a close. One of the worst matches I’ve been at, football and atmosphere wise. Not surprising though, people giving up time out of their Christmas break to watch that garbage.
Speroni didn’t have a meaningful save to make all game, whilst Guzan, the only player to walk away with any credit, made 3 excellent stops.

I heard Lambert was given 15m in the Jan window last year and was not interested likewise he was offered two players for loan who wanted to come and he refused them both.

Unless we get someone like a Benitez with £50-£100m to end then this club will never taste success again. There is more chance of me playing for Barcelona alongside Messi than that happening.
Of course there’s a chance we can get them though. Other than Di Matteo who I don’t rate at all, was on the way to getting West Bromich relegated and when a few of the old guard left, his tactics were shown to be terrible. But none of those are at bigger clubs than Villa, most aren’t in as big a league as the EPL. They know they’ll get backed with at least 20m a summer as Lerner’s done every summer but the summer O’Neill left.
