Adama Traore Close to Sealing a Deal with Aston Villa

Barcelona youngster Adam Traore is flying into Birmingham to discuss his proposed move to Aston Villa. Apparently Villa have agreed a £7 million deal with Barcelona over 19-year old Traore. Barcelona have decided to allow Traore to leave Barcelona after their Barca B side got relegated to the third league. Barcelona want Traore to develop but don’t see him breaking in the first team, and playing in the third league won’t pose as a challenge for Traore and harm development. There are two rumours regarding whether or not Barcelona have a buy-back clause. Some tabloids claim that Villa will pay more than £7 million in order to ensure that the buy-back clause will be removed. Whilst other’s expect a buy-back clause, one that Barcelona often include when selling their young players.

Villa have apparently beat out Stoke City to signing of Traore after Stoke secured the signing of Shaqiri for a £12 million deal. Traore will complete a medical sometime this week and if terms are agreed he’d be Villa’s 10th signing of the season. This would be a massive coup for Villa as Traore is labelled as one of the best young players to come out of Barcelona’s youth academy. Traore is reportedly set to sign a 3-year deal with an option of a 4th.

“He’s a good player, but at the moment he’s Barcelona’s player.” – Tim Sherwood

Traore would be a big, big signing for Aston Villa. He is a very talented individual who would certainly develop at Aston Villa. Villa are in need of a right-winger, and Traore fits the bill. He has pace, good technical ability and has the capability of getting past a player. One of Traore’s biggest flaws is that he is a little selfish at times. Still at £7 million, Traore would be a better signing for Villa than either Aaron Lennon or Townsend (who Sherwood is still reportedly keen on)

  1. reports medical done first thing this morning dont know if its true. just heard it on talksport so maybe this will be done today. hope so 🙂

  2. Now being linked with Fonte at Southampton (according to Sky). It would seem that TS is in the market for another CB but what happened to the buy British policy – smokescreen or just not good value for money?

      1. Best CB last season bar Terry in the Prem, he was incredible. With them buying Dijk and Vlaar I can see Fonte not being a starter and he’ll want too. Koeman said he doesn’t want to sell but if they get those 2 I think they will

        1. Haven’t seen anything linking Vlaar to Saints – why on earth would they let Fonte go in exchange for [a crocked-] Vlaar??

[Or for that matter, even a ‘fit’ Vlaar…]

          1. It’s possible, but unlikely. Koeman doesn’t wanna sell and I agree, wouldn’t make sense.

          2. Andrew you went from saying he was best CB apart from Terry to they are buying Dijk and Vlaar hence he won’t start..

Kind of killed your own argument there mate lol

Even thou i agree he would be a top signing but Saints wont sell IMO

      1. sport is just a planned distraction from the horrors going on around us. wars , banking scandals , sex crimes, abuse of power by the powers that be , ect, ect, ect !

BUT WE LOVE THE FOOTY 🙂

bring on the next signing and keep us distracted lol.

        1. So true it’s so we don’t question the system so they keep us brain dead with football and Xfactor etc if we all talk about that we arnt noticing what the government of the day are really up to.

    1. Hi Giddy – seem to be being linked to everyone at the moment. Perhsps we should all add ‘Giddy’ to our names for the rest of the transfer window 🙂

      1. Hi hitch there coming thick & fast now,how many more to come in is the question because in theory we’ve spent hardly anything with the outs & I think a few more might follow.however we’re doing it we certainly look a lot better for manyer year.UTV

          1. Nah Giddy – you must be thinking of meunière – maybe sole meunière with your pint tonight – beats prawn sarnies 🙂

        1. Still links though until they are signed it means nothing. I’m not convinced we will sign anyone else of note. Not sure about Adama traore this deal should have been done by now imo

          1. i think it may be done and they are waiting till before the utd game to officially announce it.
cheer us all up in case utd bring us down to earth with a bump.

            1. Isn’t that what WBA did at halftime on mon? Dreading tomorrow’s game think we will give them a game but if we go a goal down that’s it their defence is really good now

            1. Really can’t see it Giddy love to be proved wrong but a draw is best we can hope for I’m afraid and I doubt we will even get that

            1. Because they have still have a team far superior to ours and our defence still can’t be trusted. Really want us to beat them just can’t see it though it’s not negative it’s realism. I’d take a draw now if offered

          2. Defense is good, not really good. Shaw’s still suspect at LB, Romero’s an average at best goal keeper, their CB’s are still meh. Only upgrade they’ve done is at RB in Darmian who is very good, but one Amavi can handle still. They may have upgraded their defense a bit, but so have we.

            1. Shaw is great at going fwd though and will destroy Hutton imo. I think we need to score at least 3 goals for a win tomorrow as can see them getting a couple at least. I hope I’m wrong though

          3. Way Sherwood talked about Bacuna, I don’t think he’ll get dropped. If Hutton was playing, we’re screwed, he won’t even be out on the wing, he’ll be goal post like usual.

  3. Hello guys, I’m coming up from Herefordshire tomorrow. I usually get on M5 then on to M6, getting off at J8 and park at Star City, just heard that J8 is going to be closed, any advice on best way to get there, and park. Thanks in advance!

    1. I would leave M5 at Junction 3 (A456), head towards brum. Go down Hagley road past Bearwood traffic lights and turn left on BarnsleyRoad, go to end of road and turn right onto Sandon Road. At first traffic Lights turn left onto City Road. Go all the way to the end of City road and turn right onto Dudley Road, take left after the hospital (Western Road, travel all the way down it until you meet the dual carriageway where you turn left. Straight on at Islane, then second exit at next island (Great King Street N which leads into Wheeler Street) At mini roundabout go left onto Clifford Street, straight on until you reach the dual carriageway turn left and stay in left hand lane to exit up ramp to the Island. At Island turn right onto Witton Road and look for a decent place to park. Its the way I always go and avoids loads of traffic.

Sorry for long post just trying to help a fellow villain

  4. Correction, I meant J6 not J8 on the M6, the Lichfield Road which takes you to Star City.

    1. Can’t help you but I’d repost this on the next thread…things move on quickly!

      1. would really like to see n’zogbia go . cant stick him lazy player. thank feck he is in last year of contract . im hoping tim sells him or loans him out for the season . don’t want his lazy attitude rubbing off on the new players.

  5. Adama Traore has just signed five year contract just announced on sky – get in there.

What a great transfer window Villa have had. I really doubt any of us fans thought we would spend this amount on young exciting players. Well done Tim, Tom and Randy!!! UTV
