Aston Villa have been linked with a host of players the past day. We’ll start with the reports claiming that Chelsea player Gael Kakuta has decide to join Sevilla after turning down a move to Aston Villa. Kukuta had gone out on loan to Rayo Vallecano where he had a successful loan spell. His contract had expired and decided to join Sevilla. Not too much in this story, I just thought it was interesting that Villa were trying to sign Kukuta. Also confirming Sherwood’s young policy.
Another young player linked with Aston Villa is Charlton’s Jordan Cousins. The 21 year old is highly rated by Sherwood, with Liverpool and Newcastle also monitoring the young midfielder who has scored 3 goals last season and made 44 appearances for Charlton this season. Allegedly Aston Villa would have pole position for his signature as our assistant coach, Mark Robson has close associations with Charlton. Cousins is highly rated by many Charlton fans and will most likely not want to loss their prized asset.
There has also been additional news about Aston Villa’s pursuit of Nice’s left-back Amavi. More information has come out that Aston Villa have matched Nice’s valuation of Amavi of €8 million. Lyon had previously bid €4 million. There are still complications with Amavi’s side of the negotiations, as he isn’t certain of moving to Aston Villa, but allegedly Villa have offered him a health wage. Aston Villa are also linked with his team-mate Eysseric who plays as an attacking midfielder for Nice but he has struggled for goals. He has scored 2 goals this season and had been dropped to the bench for the final 4 games of the season. Some Nice fans do rate Eysseric and it looks that Nice would be willing to part company with Eysseric.
Two Hull City players have been linked with Aston Villa today, firstly winger Robbie Brady has been linked with Aston Villa. It appears as though Hull City will be willing to listen to offers for Brady, who can play as a winger or as a wing-back. Additionally, Tom Huddlestone (who has been rumoured with Aston Villa) has bought the house of former Cricketer Graeme Swann in the midlands sparking speculation of Huddlestone moving to Aston Villa. Sherwood is looking for a central midfielder after losing Cleverly to Everton. Like with Brady, Hull City may be forced to sell Huddlestone as they look to trim their wage bill to adjust to life in the Championship. Aston Villa could sign Huddlestone for a fee of £5 million.
Lastly, Man. City are linked with a move for Villa’s Fabian Delph as City look to increase their English quota following the sale of James Milner. Pellegrini’s main target remains Pogba, but Delph is also on Cities wish list as they look to bolster their squad. No fee is mentioned but this move looks rather unlikely after Delph recently committed a new 4 and-a-half-year deal in January.

Richards signs 4 year deal.
If that’s right I think that could be the best bit of business already done in this window.
