I probably should be, but am not, anywhere near as nervous about tonight’s game as I was on Saturday.
A 2-1 advantage shouldn’t really make me feel so confident, but given that we played quite poorly, especially in the first half, yet still managed to win, I’m just not particularly worried.
I think the biggest plus for us is Gayle not being able to play and although Jimmy Shan insists that Albion have very good attacking options, I just don’t think their attack will be equal to ours.
Squad-wise we’re all good and the only questions are about who Dean Smith wans to start.
The team mostly picks itself, but there are doubts about Whelan and Adomah being in the eleven.
Although many are calling for Hourihane to start after his decent performance on Saturday, it wouldn’t surprise me if Whelan starts again. That might puzzle some of you, but an away game, where the opposition surely have to come at us, probably suits Whelan better, as he’s much better defence-wise.
Of course there’s always the argument that attack is the best means of defence and Hourihane is easily the better option if we’re going to go all out.
Adomah was poor, but I’m not convinced Green did enough to warrant a start over him and I think the youngster is better as a backup, brought on to attack tiring legs.
Anyway, I’m looking forward to a more open game, although Albion need to be careful they don’t open up too much.
I just think we’ll certainly have enough about us to not lose by two goals, which means I think we’ll be going through.
If we get the first goal, it’ll probably be all over.
But then, if they score first, that’ll make a real game of it.
I can see a 1-1 draw, but I’m going to go for a win.
2-1 to us.
Here’s hoping. UTV!
Green starts no Adomha. Should be interesting as Albert was not in the game .
Anyone know any live streams ?
Can’t help you Gavin, i’m on NowTV for this one.
Hourihane starts too. We’re going for the jugular!
Ooh, I think El ghazi handled that then.
Mings booked for trying to punch it into the net. How stupid’s that?
shit!
0-1
How’s that gone in?
Makes it interesting now.
I cannot believe that, theymstud and watched him head the ball, bloody idiots.
Sloppy so far. Too many lightweight players for me. El Ghazi and Green spring to mind. Need some steel in these games.
Taylor is awful.
Green panics and totally overhits it. That’s poor.
El Ghazi shoots weakly.
Our first effort on target.
Another game of patience, by the look of it.
How did Baggies not get a single yellow card? Stamp on McGinn by Brunt!
The crossing has been abysmal. Good situations wasted. Hope we liven up second half and go for it with a bit more conviction in the final third.
No need for panic. Villa will liven up from the 70th minute.
Guys – we’re losing this at the moment. Albion having the best chances.
Completely agree with dsvilla here lads. This is a game for steel. I get it yes, Deano lives for the attack and trying to win the game but, we should’ve shit up shop in this one. We more than capable.
Bit baffled. It’s gonna be a night of long throw ins and long balls, we’ve seen it already. Pulisball 2.0
If we’ve got the guile to nick an early goal this half then we need to get Whelan on and shut the game out.
Shut not shit of course
And one more thing, unpopular probably. But green is completely useless, prefer Adomah every day. Yes lads, I said it
Green’s certainly done nothing up to now.
surely Abraham was pushed then?
Terrible refereeing and Abraham is holding his shoulder.
Are West Brom the new Leeds?
Get him off, he’s not fit seen him earlier holding his shoulder. We don’t want passengers in this game .
Jesus Christ!
steer, what are you doing?
