Watford – Villa; Can we expect anything different?

I really couldn’t be bothered to post anything about this game, as again, I couldn’t really care less.
Whatever happens will be meaningless.
But I’ve a few minutes free so thought I’d post a quick opinion and we can just use it as a sounding board for comments about how rubbish we are.

What concerns me is that I’ve seen a comment where Watford are a championship team. If that’s the case and I see the Hornets as clear favourites for this game, what does that make us?
But I suppose we all know the answer to that.

And then I see that the same old rubbish that has achieved what will be a record breaking losing streak has been picked again.

Nothing has changed, yet again, so why should there be any reason to expect a different result?

As per usual of late, I can’t see anything other than yet another loss.
Probably by two or even three goals.

The team, if anyone’s interested is;

Bunn (GK); Hutton, Lescott (c), Clark, Toner, Cissokho; Gueye, Westwood, Bacuna; Ayew, Gestede.
Subs: Guzan (GK), Richards, Sinclair, Veretout, Sanchez, Gil, Grealish.

Still, Toner’s getting a start, which is encouraging, but surely it’s too little, too late.

I’ll go for 0-3

  1. What the fuck was Black doing at the end?! Bacuna at centre back!!! Moved Toner (who’d handled Deeney well) out to left back, took Ayew off but left Gestede on when we needed to play on the break, then replaced the injured Gana with Sinclair when we had Richards still on the bench! We looked pretty good up until then, Westwood even cleared the first man from a corner 3 times!

Did anyone who was there see what happened with the Villa bench just before the final whistle? The tv coverage briefly showed some kind of disturbance, with a few coaches and players getting involved?

  2. Black is taking the piss.
Put the tea ladies in charge for the next two games, They certainly couldn’t do any worse!

You mean the same tea ladies you wanted rid of a couple of months ago?

Sunday Telegraph reporting that Pearson will be next manager but announcement being held pending completion of a sale. Cut off date reported as being middle of May. Sorry, can’t paste the article but link is through BBC football rumours this morning.

  4. Roll on the middle of May if its true

  5. The B’ham Mail is saying Randy’s ready to slash the asking price down to £40m so if his love for all things AVFC and care for the futue of the club is as great as is quoted then why don’t he give the club to the fans?
Then model the club on the Bundesliga model (The 50+1 rule) ensuring that the club’s members retain overall control, protecting clubs from the influence of external investors?
Surely some financial arrangement could be brokered, him keeping some sort of stake in the club plus annual repayments over x amount of years until this £40m is repaid?
    Just a thought.

Pretty impressive that Black has managed a 0% points record at Villa. Surely we must be considering giving him the job!!

thought villa were the better of the teams, (better of the two bad teams) up to the sending off. wasteful finishing, bad decisions making in their final third stopped us claiming a easy win. oh and a massive turning point was not sending that abdi off for two clear deliberate FOULS stopping a breakaway.

shit happens, would av only papered over the cracks, which are now massive cannons. at least the players WEARING the shirts, are now giving their whole. in my opinion but its clear, still this isn’t enough to beat a piss poor watford, who had their own crowd on their backs, for the whole game up to the sending off.

    1. Ayew incident is confirmed by the BBC –

  9. Matt Lowton back in the Premier League!

I’ll bet that both he and Marc Albrighton are so glad that they weren’t good enough for the Villa!

    Congratulations Leicester City!

One good thing has come out of this season – in contrast to the Spanish, French, Scottish and German Leagues the biggest spenders cannot always buy the title.

  11. Congratulations to the Foxes, brilliant, it gives us all hope.

Paid for a ‘day pass’ for today’s Spurs game on Sky via Now TV. Have NEVER seen such dull, uninspiring completely shit coverage on Sky. Carra and Scott Parker giving their views is like watching brown paint dry. Fucking embarrassing watching them mull over the most incredible footballing achievement ever, and that’s the best they have to offer?????? God I hate Sky TV…

Too true. that is why I watch it on the Russian computer links. It is HD quality, and the commentary I cannot understand, but I am picking up a few words, and at least they name the players. Best of all is that it is free, since Sky sold it to the Russians and they transmit via computer not TV.

Is it bad that I couldn’t give a shit about Leicester winning the league? I’m sick of being told that as a neutral I should be enjoying the Leicester fairy tale…….nope, I genuinely only care about Villa and along with many am almost beyond caring. That Leicester side will sadly more than likely get asset stripped like anyone else that dares to annoy the big boys.

The only thing Leicester have shown me this season is the wide gulf between their commitment and our players that haven’t given a shit since day one.

    Meh – rant over.

  15. Obviously you don’t understand the true ethos of football, you may want to look at the founding fathers values of your own club. (edited; Badger)

    1. To KentNielsen77.

  16. @BWS

Way out of order. If KentNielson77 isn’t bothered about Leicester then that’s his prerogative. I find it quite inspirational but if you only look at our sad excuse for a football team I can see where he’s coming from.

We are the exact opposite of Leicester. They’ve generated success from positivism whereas we’ve totally embraced a negative attitude which had totally destroyed us.

Good luck Leicester and good luck Villa – we’ll definitely need it.

Post edited, as that’s out of order, BWS and you replied perfectly well without the insults!
See my view in the new article, where I agree with you, fwiw.
