Villa – Watford; Six pointer?

Well, the good news is that we’ve officially signed Samatta (yay!).
The bad news is that he won’t be able to play tomorrow (boooo!)

Which means unless we start Vassilev, which I really don’t see happening, we go strikerless again.
The reason I don’t see it, is because I doubt he’d have the stamina to last the 90 minutes, which means he’ll probably get minutes later on.
I suppose you could make a case for starting the lad, in the hope of us going all out early on and then subbing him off when he tires, but I just don’t see it.
Better to play him when Watford’s defence are tiring, in my opinion.

Which again makes me wonder where the goals are going to come from?
We can’t keep expecting Jack Grealish to keep doing it all on his own, can we?

That said, I do have a sneaky feeling that we might get the required result here and actually take the points.
Which defies logic really as Watford are second in the current form table over the last six games.
We sit 15th, which surprises me slightly, but at least that means there are five teams below us.

Squad news and there’s nothing new on our part.
As for Watford, Ismaila Sarr has been ruled out after doing his hamstring and Danny Welbeck is close, but it’s too soon.

Don’t ask me what to think, as I frankly don’t have a clue again.
I have to be honest and say that I am not convinced that we’re good enough to win this one.
We just look too gutless and can’t get the basics right, for my liking.
But that’s simply the realist in me.

But being a footy fan quite often has nothing to do with reality.
We definitely have players who can produce something against the run of play and I think that’s exactly what might happen in this one.

The truth is I’m hoping my team can come good, for what is a massive game.
I just feel that if we can’t get something from this one, we probably deserve to go down.

Villa to win, 2-1

Oh, a heads up.
There is a program that you can download for your Android phone and it’s called “Wow sports”
I can pretty much guarantee you that if the game is available anywhere in the world, it will be available on that app and in excellent quality too, although it’s equally prone to stoppages, just like any other type of stream.
You must go to the link I’ve just given you, as it’s not available on Google play store.
Hit the “download 5.5” part of the page and you should be good to go.
If you have a new fangled phone and telly, you can then cast the picture to the telly and it’s happy days.
If not, you’ll still get excellent quality, albeit on your titchy phone screen (it’s better than nothing!)

You can also do this on your computer, but it does take a bit of knowledge and unless you’re a real computer whizz, it’s not going to happen quickly.
You can download Bluestacks here .
It’s basically an android emulator, which will then enable you to install the Wow sports app (via the previous link).
You’ll need a pretty nifty computer to run it though and as I suggest, it’s not straightforward.
It’s how I watch and the qualty impresses me every time.

Probably just easier to go with the phone to be honest.

We’ll take the draw. This is now a must draw game. Bournemouth winning too. We’re f***** by the looks of it.

They haven’t been in the game and we concede a sh*t goal. Typical Villa.

I understand your frustration Ted but it won’t change the players we have nor will it change the management or DOF who identify and buy the players – and exactly who do we replace him with. Benitez – no chance and then whom? If Smith goes Terry will be manager!

Sack Suso first, Ted. Utterly shit. Our best players were already at the club when Smith arrived. That says it all. If you’re going to shop overseas, you might want to try some stronger leagues. Why the fascination with Belgium FFS? Somebody give him a map of Europe, with big red arrows pointing at Germany, France, and Italy.

Too little too late. The board gambled away six pointers. We are down and its time for Purslow and Suso to be removed for the negligence in failing to leave us with a striker for the most critical of matches.

Suso out. Incompetent. Last season, with better tools, Smith did a good job. He had Tammy, Axel, and SJM for a full season (well done Steve Bruce for that.)

This season, he’s been dealt a shocking hand and Suso is culpable.

Ted, I don’t think he’s the man . If we had Deeney in our side we would still not win, the formation not their the grit not there, the hunger, not there, one man on that pitch can take and pass a player thats Jake the rest cannot follow .

Bournemouth winning 2-0 so we’re deep in the shit.

Thanks for the steam Badger but going to spend the second half watching TV with the missus as I really can’t see us getting anything out of this game.

Hitch you are suggesting nothing should change?
    Makes no sense.
All I need to say to you is Watford and Nigel Pearson.
To do nothing is worse than accepting Smith.
We should not give up and accept this.

Everything looked ok up until the goal. The only thing we lack and you k ow it’s come, is there is no brutal attack in Watford’s box, there’s no fighters there to win anything at all in the box. Trez looking decent today but not getting a lot from his LB or striker in support

1st nothing in the game two sides canceling each other out. then watford grew into game, they countered quickly hypnotising villa defenders playing a one two dazzling them like they never witnessed one before lovely cross and hills have eyes nods it in. about the only thing he done.

villa played nice up to last third of the pitch then they reached decent position. but crosses have been pathetic. first we have no hitman striker who loves the high balls, so how should we cross ?? thats right high so we have no chance of getting onto them.

grealish in a watford team would rip villa apart. the guy is so frustrated with the lack of villa players on his wave length. second half they really do need to swing into action. they played OK but games are won on how you defend and attack. we ball watched the one two and admired it. for all the ball we had we created no danger for their goalie who must be bored shitless

p/s i can not believe they were instructed to cross high we have no bloody strikers. work a opening and shoot at the goal. we will never score crossing to the phantom striker

If Smith doesn’t make half time substitutions then I will start calling for his head. We need a reaction and that needs a formation change and players changed. Take Hause, El Ghazi and Drinkwater off and switch to 4 at the back with Vassilev, Hourihane and Luiz on. Players capable of passing FFS. We need a goal and clearly we aren’t set up to do this at the moment.

Also need to stress how bad drinkwater is. Total waste of a position l, countless times he has lost the ball, think I’ve seen one decent pass from him outside to Jack.

Simillar to the 1st half at the Amex except Brighton had bossed it. The same changes need to be made, though leave Trz till last and hook Drinkwater now.
