So we were at work yesterday evening and our crew nipped outside for a coffee and a smoke, where the talk turned to footy.
One of the lads asked who the Villa had got next and I said “Spurs at home, another shoeing”.
Things turned a little surreal here, as one of the lads (a Blues fan, no less) said we’d win.
I asked him if he’d watched our defence, but it made no difference. Anyway, we were all incredulous and the end result was that we’ve got a bet on and the winner gets a fish and chips supper, courtesy of the loser.
I love fish and chips.
I’m not proud to say that I’ve bet against us, but that’s where we are and while I’d be happy to lose the bet, I just can’t see it happening.
For me, it’s just a question of how many goals Spurs will want to score.
They fielded a weakened team in Europe the other night, so you can be sure they’ll play a full strength side today and yet again, you have to worry for us.
Remi Garde has asked for some passion from the players and to be honest, it just struck me as clutching at straws. It seemed an act of last gasp desperation and if you actually have to ask for passion, you know you’re in trouble.
I could rattle on about how we might setup for the game, but I think it’s pointless, as we all know that we’ll most likely concede first and the floodgates will open.
We have the same injuries and there’s no-one fresh coming in, so we know what we’re going to get.
Spurs probably have Deli Alli back, but it doesn’t really matter, as I think whoever they put out will beat us at a stroll.
The pundits are invariably predicting a two or three nil loss and I think they’re being kind.
As I said, I think it’s just a case of how many Spurs want to score.
I can’t raise any shred of optimism these days, it’s as simple as that and
the only surprise is that Spurs are only 1-2 to win the game.
A 0-2 loss at best, I’m afraid.
Sorry, but I can’t see anything other than a sound whupping ๐
Villa 0 spurs +7
I’d like to say there’s no way it’ll be that bad, Giddy.
But the truth is it wouldn’t surprise me.
0-5 but tea sales are on the increase….job done.
RIP Harry Kartz ๐
Villa 0 Spurs 4, enjoy your fish & chip supper Badger .
i too have placed bets against villa on my accumulators on regular occasions, if prices are worth it. thats said, i love to lose if that means villa win. i love the club unconditionally.
todays game i haven’t bet on the match as spuds are solid favorites, can we win yeah we could. will we lmao doubt it. i watch the other teams struggling in premiership, their players give 110% watched norwich and while they lack ability, they never lacked effort or organization, i point a finger at villa players. all season they haven’t given the effort required. they have given in. i know you all know this too
villa nil spuds 3 if they continue like they have all season.
but i think the players might throw a curve ball.into the spuds title challenge, they seriously owe the fans a performance.
so my heart says
villa 2 spuds 1
Don’t even think I’m going to watch. Lovely day – why spoil it? Glass of wine sat in the sunshine methinks.
I’ve got a bet on Everton, Atl Madrid, both won, going on to West Ham and Spurs, watch the Villa let me down by playing a blinder! [first time for months]. Don’t think I’ve ever backed against Villa before, but like Badger said they are so poor it’s hard to see any other result that an away win.
Stan Collymore on Talk Sport last night said he had a feeling in his water that Villa might get something, maybe the Thursday/Sunday thing might hit Spurs, it seems to affect most English clubs in the Europa Cup.
Collymore water
It’s a hammering we are going to get
Saw my second team Barca score 6 yesterday .
I expect 6 goals today too – Villa 4 -2 Spurs.
No only joking ๐
6-0 to Spurs of course.
(Only 8 more games after today I feel like the prisoner who crosses each day off with a piece of chalk on the wall. Please God let it be over)
I’m watching the Wolves City game and thinking they have more going for them than we have, but hey, all of a sudden help was at hand? Brian Little came on the screen and comment was from the commentator he’s there to eye up the opposition. Ok back to reality today’s game we’ve lost before we start., 4-1 Tottenham.
Guzan; Hutton, Okore, Lescott, Cissokho; Westwood, Gana; Ayew, Gil, Veretout; Gestede

Spurs will knock 6/7 past us today, they’re looking real good at playing football this season and we’re looking real shite
Jesus, nearly one down already.
Looking like they’re just going to carve us open.
Grounds empty, Kane hit the cross bar, parked in our box at the minute.shots on goal.

Who gives a shit so long as they most brought a pie, drink or programme.
Shit that was close off the post, Cuzan having a good game saved some sitters.
Decent header from Gestede then.
And normal service has been resumed.
Goal Tot
Kane 1-0.
Bad time to score, but at least we might be able to use the break to prevent the collapse.
Game over we’ve never come bk from a game all season especially as Spurs have best defence in prem. Il settle for 3.0 defeat
So much for your logic badger collapsed already 2.0 now fuckin joie
Stubbs if your watching at least more effort don’t you think.
I don’t watch anymore Bill. I have far more interesting things to do than watching Villa………Like watching the missus paint her nails or admiring the neighbours shed.
Don’t blame you, I also get more fun watch my missis decorating problem is she’s in bed with that lergy that’s going around.the match is in Spanish and don’t know what the he’ll there on about,
Kane 2-0
Was that Westwood loseing the ball on the half way line. Think it was.
