The ibtimes are suggesting that if a new owner takes over at the Villa, Tim Sherwood’s position as manager might not be safe.
The article even goes on to suggest that our CEO, Tom Fox’s position might be a bit dodgy too.
So how is this even a story?
A new owner comes in, he has his own ideas and isn’t obliged to keep on any of the original staff, is he?
It’s why I regard the press with such disdain, as my opinion says they just don’t have a clue and it’s all made up, with nothing to back it up, apart from Fox stating the blindingly obvious in this case.
In further news, it’s been reported that Tom Fox has said that Christian Benteke will be offered an improved contract.
How does he know this, if he’s about to be thrown out on his ear?
Unless he’s party to the talks that are discussing his dismissal, of course.
Either that or Fox does know something, which suggests he’ll be staying on and knows it.
Whatever, any talk about the supposed takeover is just that, talk, as, as has been correctly suggested, there will be non disclosure agreements agreed, hence the media won’t have a clue about what’s happening until the deal is done and announced.
In the same vein, you can write off any speculation about who we might be bringing in, I reckon.
How can anyone speculate when we don’t even know if there’s a sale, let alone any of the current hierarchy staying on?
That said, we do appreciate some of you love the speculation and if anything appears newsworthy, no doubt it’ll be commented on by one of us.
Which reminds me.
I did hear from a source, that Milner is on the verge of rescinding his Liverpool contract and signing for the Villa, as he’s sick of the scouse fans already complaining about how poor he is.
Remember, you heard it here first 😉

Richards is an impressive signing (it true), when you consider Sunderland had apparently offered him £90k a week.
This is more like the sort of player we want; one who isn’t in it just for the money.
It’s interesting that we’ve broken our transfer cap on the player, even though it’s not mega bucks for a player on a free.
And it also suggests that my inference that we couldn’t compete for Cleverley, was wrong.
It would seem Sherwood didn’t want him quite as much as he made out.
Nice to see you’re finally coming around. A few Everton fans as I stated claimed they basically knew Cleverley was signing for them in January. I don’t think Sherwood ever cared about him staying, was mainly trying to keep his confidence up.
Spot on badger
If it’s all true then what a nice surprise. Hope Tim has a few more like this before we kick off for the new season.
Interestingly I’ve noticed this with a few, mostly younger, players who don’t always want to join the big clubs and turn down big money because they won’t get the games and/or play in the position they’re best at (just look at Sinclair to where that can lead).
Tim must be a good salesman too, bodes well for the future.
UTV
If the Richards story is true, I will be very happy. Hopefully Sherwood sees his as a centre back and not a right back though.
One thing that is really pissing me off is the scousers bitching about signing Milner and Ings. I would have loved us to pick up those two players. Bunch of ungrateful wankers.
I’d have taken those 2 in a heartbeat. Ings is ridiculously underrated, overall I don’t think he has a weakness as a player and Milner’s the most underrated player in history. Incredible talent.
It’s claimed Sherwood promised Richards he’d play in his preferred CB position and not RB.
Shame we didn’t get those 2 if we had we’d be looking at too top 10 imo
Never were going too imo though. Burnley are rejecting 4-5m in compensation, Pool are hoping they go for the 6m in compensation for him. Milner I don’t think we could’ve attracted back, surely if he didn’t go to Pool he probably would’ve accepted City’s offer. He did play a lot this season, or would’ve gone to like Arsenal. But I’d agree.
They think they can get better deluded wankers
Richard ‘s would be great addition to the team. I am delighted we are signing him., his wages 65k have we turned a corner. Its going to be interesting who are next signings are.
Mate just told me in the pub dinnertime that we are talking to Andros Townsend. Could be bollocks but thought i would mention it.
Pete Colley saying Richards deal should be wrapped up within a week.
There’s also talk of a potential swap deal involving Matty Lowton and Kieran Trippier!! That would be another quality signing although I think Lowton would be good back up for Trippier.
Too bad they couldn’t afford like Hutton. Maybe QPR could take him? I agree, Lowton’s a good player and can play either side so is valuable.
B6- totally agree mate, that would be a great deal for us. I thought Trippier was outstanding last year. Also would be good move for Lowton.
Delighted to see that Benteke was absolutely woeful last night against Wales……..more on a dusty shelf at the back of the shop, rather than in the shop window. Obviously doesn’t want to go.
I think he will stay now but only because no one will bid for him at 32.5 m. Also he wants Cheksea but will never be more than a bench warmer there
Being reported that Gil might be heading back to La Liga.
Bit disappointing that for some reason
It appears Sylla is on the way out with the Turkish press reporting Istanbul Basaksehir are ready to make a bid for him.
Just read that Darren , yes also Richards signs Tuesday, Lowton Burnley bound, Tippier still in talks, seems things are on the move at last.
Yep and Celta Vigo have apparently made a £3 bid for Gil.. Real Sociedad and Villarreal are also said to be interested.
Things are certainly on the move. Looks to make for an interesting summer
Weimann to Derby for £2.5m?
