Sheff U – Villa; we should really win this, except, erm no we shouldn’t

It seems to me that many of us look at this as a very winnable game.
If you look at it from the view that Sheffield Utd got promoted with us and we’ve spent a boat load of money, while they spent pennies, that means we should simply be better than them and will win this.

God no, the total opposite applies, to my mind and Chris Wilder has almost the same respect that I have for Dean Smith, in that he actually supports the club that he’s managing.
It’s a rare thing, these days, where all these foreign managers, while wanting to win, just don’t have that affliliation.
Yes, you could say Sir Ron was never a Villa fan and you’d be right.
But I just think supporting the club adds to things and has to be a plus.

The truth is, a manager supporting a club makes very little difference to anything, but it sounds nice.

I’m going to cut this one short, as I’ve fallen asleep and just re-awkoken.

Mings is out, but as I suggested in the previous post, I’m not that bothered.
But why do I suspect that Hause won’t come in to replace him?

I think we’ll be doing well if we get anything out of this, but I’m willing to go with a 2-2 prediction, simply because I think we are capable of it.

We all know the script though and the reality is it wouldn’t surprise me if we lose.

Nothing personal but why offer a manager a new contract after a third of a season? Why? Since then, it’s been downhill.

3 at the back with wingbacks anyone? 2 up top anyone? Never mind…

I’m a west ham supporter tonight, and i cannot believe Norwich draw with Leicester and Burnley won Bournemouth won, teams are starting to draw away from us. We got to pick up the games as from now or we will be shopping place with Albion.

I didn’t think we would get anything from this game – we were outplayed by United last season and I couldn’t see how that was about to change. So, whilst the loss is not unexpected, the manner of the loss in this and the previous two games is a matter for serious concern.

According to the BBC not a single shot on target in the whole game,

Our relegation challengers must be confident of taking points from us.

WELL DONE THE AMMERS…….a stay of execution.

  6. Dreadful today. No idea at all going forward. All we did was pump long balls to nobody. It was like watching Bruce-ball all over again! This is not Dean Smiths type of football at all, so what has happened??

McGinn started the game well, but then dropped off again. Wesley is isolated, but he has to start doing more. I dont really think El Ghazi or Trez are quite good enough at this level, which is worrying. Maybe we should have combined the money and bought Benrahma or Bowen in the summer. Cant see us spending that kind of money in Jan, especially when we have to buy a striker too.

All in all, a bad last 2 weeks, still at least we have a really good run of games coming up.
