Agree with Giddy. If he thinks someone ‘higher up’ will have him then I won’t be sorry to see him go. Cost us some points last season with schoolboy errors.

Don’t care about having or keeping players who don’t want to play for us.

    UTV and f*** off Vlaar

We could have done with him making a step up last season. Made some very poor errors. Let’s see if anyone of any stature comes in for him. I have my doubts.

It looks to me as if Van G rates him only because he gets great protection with other players in national team but with us he exposes his weakness in defence with our defence, he can go for me because he’s no captain, no reader of other players failure, he just average footballer. But as Badger said Villa are back to square one on moving forwards.

there were to many players under Lambert with protected status, vlaar was one of them as soon as senderos started playing we could see that baker/Clarke could play at this level, totally selfish player would hang either full backs out to dry so long as he looked good ever since his first year has wanted away remember his comments after his first relegation battle the next year it was world cup year and if united or Southampton really fancied him he would of gone. no time for him he is not of the required standard for our club

If he is aiming higher then there were 16 clubs above us to aim for.
If he thinks he can get a better deal fair play to him.
However he obviously thinks he is better than he is. One of the reasons we finished so low was because of his inept defending even when fit.
The disappointing thing for me is Villa actually offered him a deal.
    Good riddance.

good news . the cup final showed how slow he is. i think he was out of position for every goal . if he can find another club to take him good luck to them as he is only going to get slower and more injury prone as time goes by.
bye bye cardboard hope you have fun at your new club 🙂

And staying on the thread of the post – Ron (me feet are in concrete) Vlaar is welcome to depart to pastures new.
Too Old, too slow and takes six weeks off every Christmas and/or New year.

Villa offering Vlaar a contract is only for the benefit of our selling price, and the player’s next salary. Villa don’t want a centre half who shows no leadership, even of the back four let alone the whole team. He would be worth keeping as second CB to Clark if he was fit every week, but in fact he is suffering more, and longer-lasting, injuries. So its good bye from me.

Quick change of subject, a bit underwhelmed by new shirt sponsor, never heard of them before to be honest, even though they sponsored the Baggies last term!

It’s just a name on a shirt I’m more concerned who’ll be in em.

There is no point in having a famous name on the shirt. FORD, COKE, TESCO would derive no benefit. When it is done, eg Juventus with Pirelli it is for local reasons. QuickBooks is very good small business accounting software, well known in US and looking to grow here. The name on TV every Saturday will be of immense value.

Vlaar doesn’t make our defence stronger and also doesn’t doesn’t make it worse – its just a bad defence whichever combo we play across the back four. He is absolute toilet (an injury prone toilet at that) and if he doesn’t want to play for Villa then he should do one sharpish.

He had a fantastic World Cup and should have won the player of the tournament. Anyone remember how embarrassed Messi looked as he collected the award after having a very average tournament? More FIFA corruption.
I’d pack his bags for him with that attitude.
