Hi everyone UTV.
To start what a crazy ride it has been from the heady heights of the MON era, down in the dumps in the G.Houllier and A.Mcleish era and now ready to take on the Premier League again with the new look Paul Lambert side for a 2nd season. What a transformation from even last season.Looking back it was to be expected as players where swapped and changed. We still have the bomb squad to dispose of as Lambert goes about diffusing the previous managers crop of not wants. We are nearly there i can see the light at the end of the tunnel.Young, aggressive, hungry with a point to prove is the new approach AVFC,Randy Lerner,Paul Faulkner and Paul Lambert n Co are driving down.It is a totally new look side with the new players of last season and this coupled with the existing academy players and of course Gabby(legend). As you know Christian Benteke has been a gem for us with his strength, goals and presence immense player at 22.Ashley Westwood and Matty Lowton all making their own mark on the new look AVFC.Yacouba Sylla,Leandro Bacuna,Aleksandre Tonev,Nicklas Helenius,Jores Okore and of course Atonio LUNA Rodriguez AKA Tony Moon showing they can all play to a high standard in the build up to this coming season.I also think Karim El Ahmadi will make his own improved mark upon this season to.Andreas Weiman,Ciaran Clark and Nathan Baker all ready again to fight for the cause. Not forgetting up and coming Samir Curruthers and Jack Grealish.Last but not least the man between the sticks big Brad Guzan take a bow son take a bow.Our forward 3 of I expect Gabby,Weimann and of course Benteke will be flying the goals in this coming season I have no doubt.I am for once really optimistic based upon the classy free flowing attacking football Paul Lambert and the lions are serving up.I am also happy I can base my optimism on actual player performance this gives me great joy to see the proud villains digging in and playing hard as a team.Credit to Paul Lambert,Randy Lerner and Paul Faulkner for stearing the ship through harsh waters with much dissaproval at certain times to calmer safer waters.I believe in Paul Lambert and his coaching staff.I also have great belief in this young pride of lions.I am loving the new kits to.The home one a modern sort of replica of the 80-82 kit.The away which is the one I bought the four chequered white and claret look. Both kits are great and a credit to Macron. So onto the new season with new found hope, optimism and faith based upon Lambert and his young lions in Lambert we trust big UTV….
What a change to see so many positive and optimistic posts, and many things being said about last seasons players, and the new signings.
The Walsall game was great to watch, we are no longer playing the ball up field to be held up while we get the players up there, we are working up and across the field using the players strengths.
Bring on the Arsenal game, we are looking sharp and determined, we may fall down a couple of times, but I think a few teams will not respect us enough and get the shock of the mighty villains.
We will definitely shock a few faces next season especially the any old ironers boing boingers…Lol..UTV
Lol… I hope you mean Villans and NOT ‘Villains’
I think if we can get a few results from opening 3 games we might be onto a winner. Who knows the tough start could set the tone for the new boys and know what level they need to be. Blessing in disguise
Yes mate agreed mate a win or a couple of wins out of the 1st 3 would be a good start UTV
Really looking forward to this season.
Season ticket pack arrived today and is pretty impressive, good effort by the club.
Glad to hear it mate UTV
So you have to be a ST holder to attend a fans forum… Grossly unfair IMO. I am a ST holder and did not want to go anyway. The club has shot themselves in the foot again. Not everyone can afford a ST so should also be given the chance to have their say. Bad PR again IMO.
Think the club is making it a privileged event mate UTV Dont think they would of been able to fit everyone in if it was a ticket event everyone would want to go.
They are rewarding the people who probably renew in he posh seats season in season out. You will find supporters will be cherry picked and known to the club. It’s very cliquey.
Just how do you invite non-season tkt holders? With STHs you have an address, phone number or email and you know they are still interested in being involved in the club. That’s not to say that fans buying on a match by match basis are not interested, but how do you know? On the post, I to am excited and optomistic for the coming season. I don’t expect anything from the Arsenal / Chelsea matches, but we could sping a surprise and I reckon Arsenal would be the surprise if its to happen. But I think we will win against ‘Pool. But you have to ask, why FGS why? do we have to wait until 14th Sept for our 4th match of the season? Surely the Internationals could be better organised to avoid a break of 3 weeks only two weeks after the season has started. FFS!!!
Yes I totally agree with you, it’s bad organisation on behalf of the FA, I think Lambert should try and throw in a friendly
They contact people via social media like twitter easy to spot villa fans and target people who are their followers
Sorry Oohah, but I’m with Villa on this one, a football club has an identifiable customer and that is invaluable in identifying the needs and wants of the current fans. They can do other research specifically on match day fans and historic fans, like what would make you attend and what would make you get a season ticket. Anyway, bollocks to research, come on Villa, clean sheet against Malaga and 3:0 or better. UTV
You usually find that fans invited to these things are known to the club and are probably prompted by the club in terms of questions asked and are asked to behave a certain way as not to cause embarrassment to the club. If they don’t play ball they don’t get asked back for next year bit like journalists that dont tow the line. A mate of mine who is a blue nose gets invited to the blues ones and told me how it works.
This is pathetic criticism of AVFC. Points make prizes. It is absolutely correct that season ticket holders have priority then if availability down to booking history. With limited availability tell me a fairer way of distribution. My mantra for next year “prove your support, 40k every week” Go when this is affordable and justifiable to your family needs.
The club randomly selected season ticket holders who wanted to go, and they were invited to come along plus a guest.
Hardly cherry picking, just a way of rewarding loyal followers.
I suppose you’ll be moaning that season ticket holders get first choice on tickets to away games or cup finals next, any chance to knock our club, you take it.
It’s a nice privilege for ST holders plus a nice touch for the Gaffer to identify with the faithfull UTV
I attended a fans forum last year and I’m not an official ST holder. I have no idea how I was picked but I got a letter through the post one cold December morning. Free food, free beer and a chance to question all the villa staff over McLeish’s disgraceful appointment. Falkner attended for a bit but bailed when he saw how many people wanted to speak to him for some answers. To be honest I took me pal and we just got lashed for fuck all and it was the best part of the day (the match was afterwards but remember this was a McLeish team)
A good, positive piece on the team and upcoming season hijacked by someone trying to have a dig at the club, completely unrelated to the topic. Take a bow, OoohAh.
