Preston NE – Villa; I’m almost too scared to predict

I’ve cooled down somewhat after the Barnsley game, but I certainly haven’t got over it and unless things change quickly I think I’ve lost all faith in the manager.
I noted that RDM stated in the presser that he believes Aston Villa will finish in the top six this season. I agree with him, as I think the team is good enough. But I’m not convinced he’ll be the man to take us there.

I’m open to changing my opinion about the manager but the simple fact is that he has to start getting results and he needs to start today.

Preston are one of the few teams who are actually below us in the league at the moment, although they have the same amount of points and if we have any aspirations of a decent finish, we have to beat teams at this level.
That’s not arrogance either, when you consider two of their players couldn’t really get into our squad. I wonder what the odds are for Callum Robinson or Daniel Johnson to score today?

Apart from those two lads, I can’t say I know much about the opposition, so I have to go with my gut feeling, which tells me we’ll draw 1-1.
Why? Because I don’t believe we’ll score more than one and I’ll be surprised if we don’t concede.
But surely we won’t draw again?
Hence I see a tight game, with a goal either way being enough.

In squad news Preston will have to assess strikers Jermaine Beckford and Paul Gallagher.

Villa are in pretty good shape and Ross McCormack, who I’d expect to possibly come straight back in to add a bit of inventiveness, is fit again.
Leandro Bacuna is suspended after picking up his 5th booking.

As far as I’m concerned, RDM has to get a win today. I don’t care if we’re lucky or unlucky, play brilliant or rubbish.
It’s three points we need and nothing else matters.
Otherwise, even if RDM isn’t going to be sacked just yet, he’ll be on borrowed time.

So a 1-0 either way then and I’m not convinced it’ll be us who get the points.

  1. I’ve said it before and say it again, We will not win a game with Westwood in the team, only have to look back at his input to see that.

  2. We’re a shambles again.
And our fans have been booing already.
Surely there’s no defending RDM now?

  3. I’m calling for Flores to be our next manager!!!!
    The sooner the better imo

  4. Please no more of excuses in defence of RDM , you all can see hes another twat of a manager doing the rounds of picking up money getting saked.

  5. No more fannying about. RDM has to go. This squad should be doing a lot better in this league. We are not even remotely looking like top half material let alone get promoted.

    1. We shouldn’t be doing any better though. We are 3-4 years too late for jedinek, Hutton is crap, bun is crap, Westwood is crap, Tshibolo isn’t fit most of the time, Elphnick is another error prone defender, Cissoko is crap, Armavi is average, Bacuna is crap, Gollini is crap, Ayew is average and rest of players the jury is still out. Let’s put it this way would today’s Villa beat last years Villa, I’d argue they are about the same at best

  6. I said the other day we should give RDM time, and that it was a fine line and that with some fine tuning, draws could be turned into wins.

I was wrong. He is getting worse not better.

RDM OUT, had enough of this fucking shit every week another weekend RUINED.

    1. Yep like they are going to score 3 goals without reply in 45 mins when they only average a goal a game at best. Your living in dream land

    1. Of course he is another Lerner I’m afraid will be happy with getting into prem and just surviving

  7. I agree, I think Sherwood would come back in a heartbeat and I would welcome him back.

  8. Sherwood back????really how would that be an upgrade he couldn’t even draw let alone win.too cocky for my liking plus hasn’t worked since us says alot not that popular me thinks

  9. Over 6000 fans at Deepdale so we should hear the boos at the end down here……
