Danish striker Nicklas Helenius has recently spoken to the media about his desire to impress at Aston Villa and is confident that he’ll find the net if given the chance. Helenius has been limited to 4 substitute appearances and is yet to score or assist. Still, some believe he is one of Aston Villa’s more exciting striker as he offers more technical ability then Bowery or Kozak.
“At AaB I got better and better and at the end I was good enough to play from the start every match,” he told Politiken magazine. “I am confident I can do it at Aston Villa too.
“I would be very satisfied if I get 15 to 20 matches (from the bench) this season.
“The goals will come when they come. I know that I can score if I get the chance, I am not worried about that.
“I have shown in training that I am a good finisher and they have told me that.
“I will get the chance when someone gets injured or one of the players play poorly in a number of matches and gets dropped.
“The manager has shown that he dares to do that and when I get the chance I have to take it.”
Helenius has also spoken to the Danish media and says he’s a little disappointed by the lack of chances. But, he’s more disappointed that he is best known in England, as the player who had his shorts pulled down by Vertonghen. I think he’s a very good signing. He has infact scored more goals then Kozak, Helenius has netted in two goals during pre-season. During that time he quickly impressed with his technical ability and his finishing.
I’m a little bit angry at Lambert for signing Kozak, because I was so excited to see Helenius play. I thought he’d be the ‘next big thing’ after Benteke. Sadly, it hasn’t panned out that way. Now it’s up to Helenius to impress Lambert and to insure that his name get’s called up before Kozak’s.
He has more pace (so has my misses) than Kozac, better feet and can finish well. Thoroughly deserves a chance, along with Sylla, in place for the extremely fortunate lovechild of Lambert – Westwood
My 99 yr old gran has more pace in her arthritic big toe than krapjack
YES – you’re right, Westwood is Lambert’s love child. Couldn’t have put it any better
Give him the chance behind Benteke… Try it at Everton, those 2 are talented enough to play together with Delph and Sylla behind them. Everton’s defense is quite open this season which those 2 could definitely open up.
yep, give the guy a chance ffs! from the very little ive seen of him he looks about the only player whos willing to put his foot on the ball and take a look around.
as Andrew said I could see him slotting in behind tekkers, wiemann is bang out of form at the moment it’d be a good idea to give the lad a go.
