FA cup; Villa drawn at home to Leicester.

Well, it could have been worse couldn’t it?
It’s a home draw and although that would normally be a good thing, I don’t know how to view it given our home form over the last couple of seasons.
On second thoughts, surely that has to be good.

Then it’s Leicester, who over the years would have been a great draw for us.
But given that they beat us on their patch a couple of weeks back, it makes this a very interesting tie.

Regardless, I’d expect us to win this one and if we do, well, who knows how far we could go?

I can always dream can’t I?

Pointless game, Leicester will put out a reserve team and will easily beat our first team, just like Bournemouth should’ve on Sunday

Exactly a sky 4 team in CL would rather get knocked out than draw. Utd will prob win it as they have another easy draw after Cambridge and they are not in Europe and LVG is desperate for trophy. If we won it which is highly unlikely it would cost us survival and we will end up in the championship with lamberk still on his throne no thanks

Makes me laugh with the English teams resting their players in the fa cup cause in Europe the teams there don’t they try to win all trophies so it’s a sad excuse in this country the reason Messi and Ronaldo have high goal scoring records is they play most games not like sterling who needs rest all the time the English teams are a joke you play to win all cups not pick and choose

The win against Bournemouth and the delph contract have both helped deflect some attention away from Lambert. First half they were the better side and we are still in big trouble. We still need to make another signing or two desperately.

I agree with Mike that we still need some more signings however Delph feels like a new signing to me because I’d just about written him off. Any player just looking at the money would have waited for the free and filled his pockets so I’m pleasantly surprised.
Always said we needed some creative mid-fielders and I’m really looking forward to seeing Gil and Delph on the field at the same time.

Just want to know is that really a light at the end of the tunnel or just another oncoming train?

The game’s about the glory. We could do with some more silverware. Home tie, draw could have been worse. Hopefully the Bournemouth game will be somewhat of a turning point and much needed confidence boost.

Arsenal will be a tough test, but I’ve been impressed with how the defence has performed this season. You never know, keep them quiet for the first 20 mins, crowd will start to turn on them and sucker punch on the counter attack. Surely Benteke is due a goal!

Leicester hey, bet that put a smile on Lerner’s face, Oohah for Christ sake mate chill out Badgers bang on what’s he saying, yes we did have a bad support for the FA cup in the 90s that was big clubs chasing money not the honors, they divided the league by what they did but its changed again interest coming home, me its put back my interest and I still will support the underdog if Villa are not in it. That’s disgusting only 2 FA games you’ve been to hope Villa gets to Wembley and you cannot get a ticket and your tele breaks down.

Before all this weekends Giant V Minnows games which we a real throwback to past times the best game (enjoyable ) I have seen for ages was Walsall V Preston the other week….a proper game of football with all the elements that the PL does not have. Having refs that dont blow up for nowt helps to keep the game going. All the euro type passing games that we have taken to the extreme recently are just so boring….lets hope when our new saviour takes over and we have as much money as Man City we dont play as crap.

Shows how desperate Martinez is getting if he’s interested N’Zog who costs a lot, offers something but produces absolutely f**k all. Perhaps he can get him to perform for the last 6 games of the season so Everton avoid relegation 🙂

He has been pretty awful from day one. I’m sure the injury hasn’t helped but it’s disappointing all the same. I must admit I was reasonably happy when he arrived. Thought he would go a long way to replacing Young/Downing (not both of course!).

Waste of a squad number and wage. Maybe Martinez might get something out of him.

I agree Mike, but the point is you have to put it in the net and it shows Bent still can, if you hand it to him on a plate.

Well some good news for the Lambert out brigade, he has just been given a vote of confidence by Fox and Lerner. As The Doc said on hearing the chairman declare
“I’m right behind you Tommy” “I’d rather you were in front of me, Chairman, where I can watch what you’re up to.”

I’m in Oohah’s camp about Fox’s latest statement, Far enough forward for the entire playing squad we have today to be gone, because they won’t get there. So how about some ambition, top 6 by 2016, ie next season, then Fox?
