Bent; The manager is taking the club the wrong way.

The posts are coming thick and fast on here lately, but I couldn’t resist looking at this particular comment from Darren Bent.

Why? Because I believe it’s somewhat indicative of what’s really going on down the Villa.

Things don’t smell right for me and when you couple this with Jack Grealish’s comment where he just wants to be happy playing football again, you have to wonder what the hell is going on.

Was Grealish just being young and daft when he put that twitter comment out?
I doubt it.
I think he just wants out, as he knows he doesn’t have a prayer of being a regular player under Lambert.

Whatever you think there, Darren Bent knew exactly what he was saying and the long and short is that he thinks Paul Lambert is a fool;

http://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/aston-villa-paul-lambert-taking-8512025

Of course, he’s perhaps being a little bitter, but players tend to bite the bullet and not bite the hand that feeds them, which means they keep their traps shut. So Bent speaking out like this is a little odd, in my opinion.
Bent is still being paid by the Villa, so it’ll be interesting to see if he gets fined.

I know many of you don’t rate Bent, but my attitude is that if you put the ball in the box, Bent will score, more often than not.
And he couldn’t possibly do worse than our current strikers. That’s undeniable.
Of course, we don’t get the ball in the box much as things stand, but who’s the redundant one here?
The player that wants it or the manager that can’t achieve it?
I’ll let you decide.

These niggling little comments coming from players are not a good sign and to me, they indicate a club that’s seriously struggling and lacking strong leadership.
I seriously want the lot of the hierarchy gone.

Bent has had the opportunities . Lambert is right about him ,he’s a spent force. He’s just bitter.

For the fans who turn up tomorrow just sing bent and grealishs name throughout the match. But i bet that wont happen.
More chance of cheering for gabby and wiemann our young hungry and prolific goalscorers. Oh and mr offside benteke

        Only kidding 😉
Gotta agree with Andrew though, play the game Bent needs, and he will score. He’s been wasted these past four years. Perhaps a sign the game has moved on, perhaps not. One thing for sure, Benteke ain’t getting the service…

Benteke’s got to put the work in to get the service. He can’t be a statue. Quite why Everton are struggling as Lukaku’s doing the exact same thing.

Got to provide some service for strikers to score goals. I’d love to see some stats on how many crosses we actually get into the box!

One thing that keeps me optimistic is against pool Gil played a quality ball straight to the feet of weimann in the actual box! Something we never do. But surprise surprise he had his head in his arse and cannoned of his boot like a brick wall. If this happens more regularly though surely we will score soon!!

Lose today and it may prove the tipping point where the combined pressure of media, fan and player criticism of PL might push him over the edge. I’ve said before, I don’t think he’s bomb proof but the main player in that scenario is Fox. If he thinks his role is becoming untenable because of PL he’ll be in Randy’s ear for sure. Can but hope!

If losing today means lamberk goes im all for it. I think if we lost 5.0 hed still be here though. He is insackable letner is looking for dof for him etc. Until lerner goes we are stuck with him im afraid coukd be years. I dont no many mates going today cant blame them

there’s nothing much going for aston villa and these players coming out and talking about shit, should be fined. darren bents got nobody to blame but himself. hes dropped out of the top flight, because hes failed to grab goals, the reason hes paid so handsomely. lambert wasn’t to blame for him being dropped for academy players at fulham. they even got relegated, if he was still all that, another premiership would have loaned him this year, but only championship are risking it. when his villa contract is over, you can bet he won’t get another like it.

grealish well fans can say what they like about him, but the facts are hes raw green and may well never make it. so why can’t he shut up and keep his head down, look busy. hes got the tools maybe, but all this look at me attitude, just bring more pressure on him 2 fall flat on his face. now tweets fine him, need to learn hes in a team not team grealish

finally those shocks in fa cup goes to show wot organization and some hard work gives you. granted bora and bradford played some good stuff, bouremouth are coming and don’t be fooled by those that say they will rest players, or not want to progress. villa are a scalp and we need to apply the same attitude they showed in last game, yeah we lost, but their were signs, the new guy was buzzing looks a decent player. benteke looked more interested and we dropped the slow build and over passing for playing to strengths, and passing with more a tempo. for us too escape this season and hopefully lerner to sell and new manager and players come in during summer, we need to get momentum, if we can beat bournemouth and have a run in the cup this could be the spring board.

Wondering if some of those who agree with PL that Bent is no good were saying exactly the same thing about Alan Hutton until recently?
IMHO I don’t think that Bent was given a real chance, he should at the very least have been regularly used as a sub as Gabby and Andy were misfiring so often.
Good managers get more than expected from average players, bad ones get less than expected from good players. I’ll leave it to you to decide which one PL is!

Bring on bent for gabby or weimann? And what play him on the wing? He is almost useless up front but on the wing? Because lambert isn’t going to replace benteke, Bent was never going to work with lambert because he offers nothing outside the box and lambert can’t set up a team to get balls into the box! And u can say Bent should have been played all you want but the facts are he went to other teams and couldn’t get a game or a goal either so I think it probably proves lambert right to drop him for benteke and in bentekes 1st season nobody could disagree with that!

But grealish is being handled very badly IMO, he needs game time and he had got what maybe 90 mins all season? Then being dropped from the squad, that’s very bad for a players confidence never mind such a young one who was probably promised a lot more at the start of the season, if the players in his position were producing then fair enough but when they have been utterly useless for nearly 2 seasons and he still can’t get a game it must be very disheartening.

Grealish should not hav tweeted it but supposedly he is a villa fan so how could he possibly be happy? I know I’m not! He was nieve not a prima dona.

Darren Bent is a lazy goal scorer. If you put the ball on his foot he will finish in the box but his movement has become slow.I would play Bent with Benteke all day long and put Gil in behind them.We lack goals Bent is a goalscorer Bent plays.utv

darren bent and charles insomnia both got contract at villa above their value, panic buys where now they earn more unwanted than to go elsewhere and play football. ppl suggested pl ruined um are talking through their behinds. nobody else wants them is a clear indication, they aren’t worth a place in the team. nzog gets in because we simply haven’t better players, which is were we should be crying over.

hutton has been given a chance and taken it,he’s shown his worth and signed new contract. where the other two simply haven’t but will remain at vp because they are so desirable, not one club is willing to offer them a chance

    wheres the game preview
