Ashley Westwood has officially signed a new 4-year deal at the club that will see the highly-rated midfielder staying at Villa Park until 2017. The young midfielder recently joined Aston Villa from Crewe and has seen himself being an essential part of Lambert’s new look Aston Villa side. Making his debut against Southampton, the young midfielder has become the engine of the Villa midfielder. Additionally the midfielder has made 30 appearances last season.
“If you look at the stats regarding his passing, they are terrific, something like a 91% success rate.
“He never seems to give the ball away. He’s been exceptional,” manager Lambert
I also like Westwood’s attitude, he is positive and want’s to be part of this young Villa side. I expect Westwood to be part of Aston Villa for a few seasons. I think he will be able to break into the England team, if Hodgson doesn’t keep to his regulars. Westwood will most likely be instrumental in Aston Villa’s midfield this season and hopefully he’ll be able to notch his first goal for the club.
Glad he penned a deal can see him only getting better
