A Time To Stay Positive

imageWell a great summer transfer window in my opinion with 7 great value for money good signings.Paul Lambert is no mug when it comes to buying players as you now know.
So now we have bought Okore,Luna,Tonev,Bacuna,Helenius,Steer and Kozak this summer.I think we will find we have some right good gems in that bunch of 7.They all look to me like they want to wear the famous Claret and Blue shirt with pride, work hard and give their all.
Lambert has bought to AVFC a new way of playing which is exiting, attacking and of goal scoring nature.Isnt this what we all wanted after the last few baron years.Lambert has bought in players which he thinks are the ones to suit AVFC and suit him.I think he will live by this young squad and back them to the hilt.Im sure Lambert and the coaching staff will all work hard together with the team to make us a hell of alot better than we have been recently over the past 3 or 4 seasons.I mean how many teams go to Arsenal and win let alone stand firm at Chelsea.
We have had a hard first 3 games close together and 3 points from Arsenal,Chelsea and Liverpool is not to shabby coupled with good performances it is a good start.
Onto Newcastle on the 14th this is a game I will be attending with my son (get in you beauty) and one I think we will be victorious.Newcastle do not look to good at the minute and i think we will do the business. We will have had a chance to practice and work hard on the training ground to bring a better performance to VP on the 14 th.
I really feel we can push on this season and I’m sure all of you do to.It will be fantastic for me and I’m sure you to to see us on the up.It will mean we have made the right choices, bought the right manager and coaching staff in,along with the right sort of players.Lambert looks to be a good coach/motivator plus in my opinion has a good eye for a player.
This is not time to think oh why didn’t we buy this player for that position. This is a time to be happy, positive with the good start we have made and good players we have bought in.Be happy with Lambert sing our hearts out at VP and feel happy we are moving forward.
Finally Paul Faulkner and Randy Lerner they have avoided relegation, got our great club financially stable again and backed Paul Lambert in the transfer window. Our great club now looks well run,has a great foundation and looks ready for the bright future we think we the supporters deserve…UTV…

Hey Langford’s back. The wife has missed you lol.

  4. Lol… I’ve missed her as well lol 🙂

  5. 25 man squad list is out, and as I expected, we had 25 players so we couldn’t sign anyone else unless we left a couple out, like they had to do Hutton, however Given and Albrighton made the team. 14 home grown players, including Given and Albrighton. No Hutton

She said you did, but don’t worry, we washed the sheets. 😉

    1. I can confirm that there are NO sheets on your bed… Hows that for evidence? 🙂
      Take care all

  7. I bet Terry and Oohah are pissed off now, Langford.

    1. Only here to say hello guys. Its still far too negative for me.
See you all after XMAS take care and stay positive!
      We will NOT be relegated,
      Take care all and:
      UT

      1. Nah, there’s only localised negativity, the rest of us are positive and looking forward to some good football.

  8. Oohah said I’m a tosser, I don’t want to be in his gang, anyway he’s got Terry.

    1. Hey Bill I reckon Oohah and Terry are like the Master Blaster in Mad Max can’t make my mind which one is the big fella though.

      1. Amazing.

        1. Thankyou.

          1. Probably the best analogy for that pair ever.

  9. Fecking hate the international break. If the England squad was actually picked using players who deserve a chance based on current form I might have a little interest in it. Corrupt it is, bloody corrupt. Hodgson is a wanker

Agree markd8 England is just a platform for sky to lick the arses of sky 4 players all at once.

      1. Lol that’s funny mate I like that lol

  10. What’s with the slating of our defensive back line….Vlaar will stay captain and its like a stuck record over and over slating Vlaar and Clark. Its been said put it to bed get over it….

    1. Jay Dee when you stuck that post up you was on a hiding to nothing, have to say again spot on what was said. Well done.

      1. I think our defenders can only get better with the amount of game time they play in the premier league.I think they will do fine this season and so will the rest of the side.I can’t wait for the Newcastle game.I will be in the North with my lad R4….Comon you Lions

  11. I’m positive anyway (you might have noticed), it’s just the reality of the position we’re in and what the owner and manager are trying to do with the team. Other methods have been tried and haven’t worked, I actually find what’s going on now exciting and interesting and am looking forward to the next few seasons as we continue to climb the table.

It’s some people’s lack of realism that’s boring, slagging off players and the owner/manager’s ambition before we’ve seen some players play or given others the chance to show what they can do, and all this only three (tough) matches into a season of 40.

Rome wasn’t built in a day etc etc etc.

    1. There’s alot of people who are feeling that optimism and exitement.Lambert is building a proper team. The football on offer is attractive and attacking.Everygame Lambert makes sure we are set out to try and win.In the boardroom they have made sure AVFC has become financially stable again as well as bringing down the wage bill and changing the transfer policy.I like the new transfer policy of buying players who have a chance to step up an take their chance. The new AVFC feels right, exiting and positive….UTV

I am positive about this season but also still disappointed with the transfer window, i knew we would sign at least 1 player for 7-10 mill but really feel we got the wrong position, DM or AM we needed, im happy with the defence and forwards but midfield was the big problem last year. Our goals conceded makes people tink it was our defence that was the problem (or for some people every goal we conceded was 1 players fault) but it was midfield that cost us so many games last season, we have sorted this out a bit with Delphs massive upturn in form but we hav no creativity or a set DM Delph is a box to box, westwood is a CM that just keeps things ticking and KEA is a CM too and none hav creativity. Ooh ah hates loans unless they are old and nowhere near as good as they used to be! Makes no sense (but makes sense) and loaning Barry, Jesus Christ for a CB haha talk about knowing your football! He calls vlar slow but thinks Barry who was never and will never be a CB and has always been slow and lost about 30% of his speed in the last 3 years would be better for us than vlar! Genius! And just to let u know Barry and Lukaku are costing everton 10 mill for a year, 2 players ooh ah would hav in our team just rented and lost at the end of the year leaving massive holes in the team and budget, i know i am happier with buying 4 or 5 players for 10 mill than waste it on a has been that’s only gettin worse and a player that will 1 day be world class but would only stop players we actually own gettin game time, can’t believe some people actually agree with these crazy views, no point quoting FACTS to ooh ah i mean a fact like 0 defensive errors can be interpreted any way hahahaha you could interpret that as he made no defensive errors or maybe that he has made 10 is it? And the arsenal goal was lowtons fault not vlar, the Liverpool goal was okores fault because he stepped up when he shouldn’t hav leaving loads of space in behind, but i suppose vlar should be able to cover every blade of grass to just be average right?

Paul McGrath The Lord himself wasn’t quick either but he made up for it by having being able to read the game better than anyone else so coukd always get into position at the right time. Barry is not the messiah but like McGrath he has a good footballing brain that compensates him for lack of pace. Vlaar I’m afraid hasn’t got that kind if brain which is why he is caught out so much. Barry defended a lot better than vlaar when he played ch for us also he is left sided. He can also play lb, lm and cm so we are getting 4 players in one. The facts are there if you watch on u tube or wherever any fuckwit can c vlaar was at fault for arsenal goal you are obviously blinded by ur love for him not to see that even the motd commentators and write ups said he was at fault as well as numerous people on this blog. That is all

      1. Vlaar will come good mate now he has someone better playing next to him, I’ve decided to let my negativity go and watch this experiment that is the new Villa. We’ll do ok, even TV pundits reckon so and some of them have to be experts I believe or why employ them. This site is funny though, never seen so many Prozac induced tirades in all my life.

Bill to be in our gang you have to have a uni degree in negativity.Oohah and myself have studied for a lifetime to get to where we are now our club is very exclusive.

  15. I do have a lingering negative thought, remember what Mutton did to Shane Long a couple of years ago? It’s Scotland v Belgium tonight…

It dosnt matter now Wev got kojak Ffs

      1. Good to see you supporting the new players you haven’t seen play yet. So what that he scored 8 goals in the Europa League. Lazio made it to the quarter finals, Chelsea won the competition with Torres scoring 6 and Moses 4. Newcastle got as far as Lazio with Cisse scoring a massive 4 goals. Again, only statistics and we shouldn’t read much into them but why not give Kojak a chance and see how he does.
