More good news (of course fake but you know… Funny)… We’re linked to Bendtner! Now we’d be incredible if we signed the best player in the world in Bendtner. Oh, we’re also linked to Lennon.

Ha ha it’s getting desperate at vp now. The article even said that lambert sees him as competition for Benteke lol. Firstly benteke won’t even be here and even if he was he wouldn’t be fit to lick his boots

Eh, Benteke’s a possibility of being here still. We’re probably already asking at least 30m for him as we were asking a lot of money for Milner, Young and Downing which we got. A better world cup and his price only goes up, won’t go down as we can afford to keep him for the next 3 years.

I think Bendtner’s decent-esque, but yeah. He’s no replacement other than size, decent technical ability but wouldn’t trust him in the slightest. However between him and Kozak, we’d have a semi-solid strike force with Helenius still. But we’ll look abroad again for a striker if Benteke leaves, hopefully in Belgium for their up and coming strikers.

Ps as for Lennon maybe in part ex for bentenke but no way would he join us. Also he’s no better than gabby who gives us all the pace we need. Probably be linked with Ronaldo tomor yawn. So desperate to sell STs it’s untrue

But Lennon’s a RW, better than Albrigton and would give Weimann his chance to play behind Benteke.
I still don’t think there’s a chance Benteke goes to Spurs, even in any P/E for Lennon.
Lennon’s not a name to get ST sells. Lol

He’s still a known player that is deemed as a step step up from our unknown dross. I think he is the next level up for us but can’t see him wanting to come to us

            Andrew March 9, 2014 at 3:41 am . Reply

Why not? We’re not some small club despite recent seasons, plus if Spurs aren’t going to play him, a mid-table club is the best he’s gonna get. So unless QPR come back up and offer him 100k wages or Southampton decides to sign him which I highly doubt, or possibly Newcastle, we’re arguably in the best position to get him. He’s not going to a better team than Tottenham and we’re one of the best of the worst with more money than most.

But there are still better clubs than us he could go to that would pay more. Everton, Newcastle, saints etc

I doubt they’d offer all that much more than us… Like what, 5k a week more (other than Southampton). I doubt we’ll get Lennon, an out and out winger, but we’d still be well in the running for him.

5k a week more is still quarter of a million pounds more a year and 3 quarters over 3 years

That’s true. I guess we’ll wait and see. I doubt we’ll even go for Lennon but an interesting link. Had scouts at the Bordeaux-Lyon game I’ve read (Bordeaux-based journalist claims anyways).

Just for info, a certain tosser’s posts have been deleted.

While it’s funny to see that video (and I agree we don’t see much of that atmosphere down the Villa these days) the serious part of me feels sorry for the shit.
As much as I dislike them, I really wouldn’t want to see them go bust.

It does make you wonder though is Lerner all that bad an owner. I am not defending all his actions but I do honestly think he does want whats best for AVFC. It could/would be so much better if he had an advisor with a backround in footballing matters at the club and more importantly passionate about Villa. (Not so pointless now Ian !!! )

      That’s the thing Tekkers48.
Posts have a way of meandering off the original subject, so they’re never pointless, imo.
Anything that gets us rattling is all good for me especially when there’s no bleeding game.

Just how was appointing Mcleish or Lambert ‘the best for Villa’ ?

How was allowing Given to be on a 5 year contract after he all said about MON ‘the best for Villa’ ?

How was it ‘best for Villa’ spending £20M on a player who only ever does one thing from crosses and then sell all the quality wingers ?

If he could not afford to run villa he should have put the club up for sale. you can not tell me his schedule is so busy he could not have come over for games in the past two years ?

As for the advisor well yes he needed one (not the out of touch Graham taylor as many said) but is it was decision not to have one (well maybe Fergie ha ha ) and how was that ‘best for Villa’ ?

jeez is he not totally shite and Jose must be laughing all the way to the bank with Man City. As we discussed yesterday Oohah a team built on defence will always be better than the likes of City we now see.

It’s not that I care about them Jay Dee.
It’s more that I would miss the banter/ the build up to playing them.

And we’d be the only really big city in the UK to not have two clubs, which would be a disgrace, imo.

        There again, Leeds do ok.
So perhaps it would be a plus for us, in that future noses would only have the Villa as a local club, which would lead to a bigger fanbase.

Nah, I still wouldn’t wish any club going bust.

Badger your on the same wavelength as me, when will fans stop hating because they like that team, if you was in a situations that life depended on it, would you ask hey are you a blue nose, stop using the game to hate, its football, skill not fucking I hate you because, my team is Aston Villa, my second team is my City, not London, not Liverpool, not Manchester, Villa, and Birmingham my City, call me a silly sod but that’s how I look at sport. There are many other things to hate and its not sport. Wear the shirt with pride.

But sometimes it feels like Shankly had it correct when he said “Some people think Football is a matter of life or death. It’s more important than that” (or similar).
