Watford – Villa; Can we expect anything different?

I really couldn’t be bothered to post anything about this game, as again, I couldn’t really care less.
Whatever happens will be meaningless.
But I’ve a few minutes free so thought I’d post a quick opinion and we can just use it as a sounding board for comments about how rubbish we are.

What concerns me is that I’ve seen a comment where Watford are a championship team. If that’s the case and I see the Hornets as clear favourites for this game, what does that make us?
But I suppose we all know the answer to that.

And then I see that the same old rubbish that has achieved what will be a record breaking losing streak has been picked again.

Nothing has changed, yet again, so why should there be any reason to expect a different result?

As per usual of late, I can’t see anything other than yet another loss.
Probably by two or even three goals.

The team, if anyone’s interested is;

Bunn (GK); Hutton, Lescott (c), Clark, Toner, Cissokho; Gueye, Westwood, Bacuna; Ayew, Gestede.
Subs: Guzan (GK), Richards, Sinclair, Veretout, Sanchez, Gil, Grealish.

Still, Toner’s getting a start, which is encouraging, but surely it’s too little, too late.

I’ll go for 0-3

      1. You’re right of course.
Poor excuse, but I’m a bit busy at work, so only snatched a couple of mins to post.

Looking bloody poor, from what I’ve seen 🙁

  1. Total embarrassment yet again, hang your heads in shame Villa, from top to bottom, you have let the fans down.

  2. Wow. Seriously, just wow. We continue stink the premier league out this season. Absolute shambles.

  3. Played them off the park…didnt take chances and ref should have sent their bloke off……I said around 75 mins if they get one we would loose……just like we have done for the last 6 or so years….not just this season…..just got to see season out without a 7,8 or 9….

  4. So close to watching match of the day for the first time this year. But we’re Aston Villa and with only minutes on the clock we concede 2. Having listened to the commentary we seemed to play OK after we got the first and for many missed chances should have won this game.
I’m still very disappointed to see Lescott and Bacuna playing and probably
the reason for the last two goals we conceded even though we were down to 10 men at the time. On a positive note at lleast Black dropped Guzan and we played with a little more effort than of late.
I would like to see a few of the U21 players involved in our last home game against Newcastle. All this rubbish about affecting their confidence makes me cringe. They deserve a run-out. Let them take the experience, enjoy the day no matter what the outcome. Drop the boo boys and the fans will be behind the team.

  5. – I don’t understand, no body noticed Tonner? Thought he was at least a reverlation to be added to the team, Ok we lost, but we knew that didn’t we, some nice moves and good goals, is black any good ? No.

  6. 28th,29th, 30th goals conceded in the first or last 5 minutes of either half this season!

  7. Didn’t see the game but I got the sense that the breaks didn’t go our way and that the ref. didn’t help us. If that’s true, how often have we said that over the last few years. It doesn’t excuse or explain the absolute shambles at VP but at some point we should expect a fair ‘crack of the whip’ – or am I just clutching at straws?

    1. The game stats show we had 35% possession and 7 shots to Watfords 18, so I don’t think we can count ourselves unlucky. What really got me was Black took off Ayew towards the end and left Gestede on.

  8. “Nil satis nisi pessimum”. I believe there is a space for a new motto on the badge.

  9. I was away for the day only checked the results when I got home, and I laughed to myself when I seen watford scored 2 in the 90 min .

  10. Could history repeat itself? Will Villa beat NUFC next game and inch them to relegation?
