Well, this one is going to be brief, as the truth is that now we’re relegated, it doesn’t really matter does it?
I can’t see beyond yet another loss, given that Southampton are playing for the Europa league and our bunch of mugs generally couldn’t care less.
I suppose that’s a bit unfair really, as I’m sure some do care, but they seem few and far between.
Sod it, I’m not going to mince my words anymore and this is another loss, plain and simple, as any Premier league side is miles better than what we are.
My previous prediction, a few weeks ago, where I suggested we wouldn’t get another point this season was somewhat tongue in cheek.
But I’m now suspecting it will prove accurate.
Yes, we’re that bad.
Richardson and Clark are injury worries and their fitness will be reviewed in the morning.
But Richardson even being a worry just shows the state we’re in.
I’ve said it before, but the bloke is so average (at best), it’s unbelievable.
And it’s exactly why we are where we are.
But we all know this.
As for Southampton, well, I don’t care, they could play their kids (now that’s a proper academy, that produces players and not statistics) and they’d probably beat us.
The score?
Well, I reckon we might get 1.
Nah, sod it again.
0-2
As for Okore, what a dirty lowlife rat he’s turned out to be.
I got something right in previously suggesting that there was more to him being demoted to the development squad, than his load of crap quotes were suggesting.
Ok, he thinks he’s better than the Villa.
That’s fair enough and indeed, I do have some sympathy for him.
How he doesn’t get a start over Lescott is beyond me, at face value.
But with an attitude like his, where he’s made it plain he wants out, it’s hardly a surprise is it?
This has all been done before, with lots of players over the years, but it strikes me the problem is rapidly becoming a media one.
How long before players are banned from Twitter and suchlike, as part of their contracts?
All that said, he can do one, for all I care.
He’s just another lightweight who won’t be man enough for the job next season.
Man, I’m regretting us getting shot of Albrighton even more, now I think about that again.
Now he’s one who would have fought for the club and would tear the championship a new one.
Yet another decision that shows those in charge just didn’t have a clue.
Anyway, I’m beginning to ramble.
Did I say we’d lose?

but controversial possibly.
riley was tasked with spotting talent from abroad.
I think Sherwood was responsible for gestede lescott and Richards.
if we were to choose the players we want rid of would ayew gana traore and the injured amavi be among them or would you look at gabby bacuna guzan richard lescott first.
collectively the bbc, said about the villa defending. i have been saying this all year. wish this was boxing and under doctors orders, we couldn’t fight no more. yesterday was like all the games this season a massive embarrassment. would black pick more youth, had they not been involved in the play off with swansea on monday.
got to start selecting teams based on next season, seems we sleepwalked through this year, now we are losing more valuable time in picking players that will not be around next year.
hope next weeks and further some good news ends our nightmares 🙁
The BBC with Martin Keown telling us how to defend. Shane he didn’t take his own advice when we went down in 87. He was awful and one of the main reasons we went down
Your only as good as the tools you work with Oohah,
Relegated, 3 wins all season, 10 straight defeats, 3 games to go and still the same players that are mainly responsible for this seasons disaster are still being picked game after game after game.
Surely Black has been in the game long enough and has the experience of working with arguably the worlds greatest manager of recent times to realize that the remaining games are the perfect opportunity to be throwing the youth lads in.
The suggestion that it would be potentially damaging for the younger lads with all the shit that has/is going on with the so called senior players doesn’t wash with me. Obviously the youth lads have more idea of what is going on and with numerous social networks around it would be pretty difficult to get away from it anyway.
The youth lads would receive total backing from the fans, regardless of the score because the fans know they would all put a shift in, each and every one of them.
This season is finished. We are relegated, we can’t do anything about that now so to constantly pick the same bunch of players that have got us into this position with absolutely nothing to play for is ludicrous. It’s the perfect opportunity to give the young lads, the ones who will potentially be our main hope for next season, some valuable game time and experience.
Black has said the players need to change the public’s perception of them. Well it’ll take a dam sight more than 3 games for that to be achieved!
PLAY THE KIDS!
If you use a shoddy workforce you’ll be producing shoddy goods simply change the workforce Eric it’s not fucking rocket science
Very tricky call now as I would not want to mix any promising young players with any of our starting 11. the atmosphere yesterday would have done any young player more harm than good.
I personally liked how that bunch were hung our to dry. You could see it as black sending them out for us to let our emotions out which I feel we deserve at least that.
I could happily see that bunch being brought out for remixing games if they get the same abuse as yesterday. Let them have it!
The youngsters will have a fresh start in pre season.
Talk sport yesterday mentioning how much of a slog the championship is and I have to say it’s the perfect word to dis rube it!
Whoever remains just has to bare in mind and realise next season will be tough but doable if we stick to it, cheer them on and hit the ground running.
I for one can tell you my heart or hairline will not survive play offs!
Atmosphere yesterday? Do you really believe that if the kids where given the chance the fans would create a similar atmosphere?
The fans would be supportive of the kids I don’t think that is in question.
There is absolutely no point in playing players that have no future at the club and will therefore no doubt be released or sold in the summer.
The kids are the future of the club so play them.
i think its because the under 21 have their own season still unfinished. they are in the playoff, which would promote them into the top tier next season if they are successful. hard to promote the kids and have them playing two games in the week. the playoffs monday night. would be interesting to see them along with so so called first timers. maybe the last 2 game we will.
one issue would be if arsenal and newcastle are still fighting. we might be fined for using the kids. but i say play um now. we need to play the players that MIGHT or SHOULD be here next year. not the ones that we know will be long gone
You’re probably right Nath. I had totally forgotten about the under 21 playoffs.
its a toughie, personally i would blood them or some of them. but that’s my selfishness. i am just worried we are standing still, when we should be proactive towards preparing for the championship. really we should have a manager now, that could be making such decisions. most top clubs have certain arrangements put in place. man city have their next manager before the old one walks, chelsea and man utd also do this. so why can ‘t we sign the manager. he could at least start work behind the scenes
Totally agree with you. I don’t think it’s being selfish at all. Like I said in an earlier post it’s pointless playing the players who have lost 25 games and most won’t be with us next season so play the kids, after the u21 playoffs of course. 😉
Food for thought perhaps, I’m sure better offers would arise but what a Martinez?
I personally don’t think it would be a great shout but worth considering perhaps?
No thanks – he turned us down a couple of times – all mouth and trousers. Would prefer Pearson – even McCarthy to Martinez
I’ve just watched Sunderland v Arsenal and witnessed a team not giving up, what a load of cowardice we have in our team. Well I’m with Leicester now and hopefully they will win. Shit Vardy not playing.
i just watch that game too bill. was nice to see sunderland battling, tackling and also hurting a team like arsenal when they attacked. much the opposite than our pitiful performances.
leicester game now, shame we villans have too watch other teams, to watch a competitive game
Nath, its been a revelation to see football again, both games was entertaining, well done Leicester i hope they proove a point on football ethics and win the league.
totally agree with you bill, i enjoyed both games. i was impressed with Schlupp, tinkerman used him instead of albrighton, but mainly cause they were missing vardys speed on the breaks. yeah i hope they do it, like you it would be good for football.
also bill shows what we could achieve with a decent manager and board backing him. gives us plenty hope for the future.
Okore has tweeted angry responses to Black’s claims just after 10pm tonight. Not as straightforward as it first seemed. Mind you, what is at Villa?
Bernstein apparently wanted Hodgson at Villa Park. At least he doesn’t have a say in our manager anymore.
anybody know the timescale for this takeover. because clocks ticking. we need a manager this week definitely sooner rather than later.
Probably knowing villa the day before the new season starts,I wouldn’t advise you to hold your breath on this one it would be extremely damaging to your health.
The only thing we know is Hollis holding talks with Pearson, that makes him number one favourite, problem with that he’s asking what if new buyer wants their own manager in. I was watching Littles face in the game , it tells me he knows the enemy in the team but little help left in the club to rectify.
Don’t know what the truth about the Okore situation is but when Black comes out in support of Lescott then I am tending to side with the player. I can only assume that Black is taking the p**s out the fans and the club and the sooner he disappears out the door along with his chums the better.
And now Black points the finger at fans for not picking younger players! Well if he used his brain and dropped players like Guzan, Lescott, Richards and Bacuna and brought younger players in maybe the atmosphere would improve!
I would not count on Moyes as it sounds like Everton will be looking for a new manager and I would not rule him out going back there. With Black and his comments he is just fire fighting until he can get his wedge a go so, He is just trying to appease everyone but is totally out of his depth.
I was at the game on Saturday and in the 45 years I have followed Villa home and away I have never witnessed any Villa team getting the abuse they got on Saturday. No way am I saying it is unjustifiable as it is, but there are some players who are trying and being tarnished with the same brush as the real dross. If Lescott is a Villa fan you would expect him to run through a brick walls for his team, but on Saturday he got the abuse he deserved and is not even fit to call himself a fan never mind have the privilege of wearing the shirt.
Hitch, to be truthful ,what brain? he’s a copy of other managers imo , OK the youngster have their own league to win, I bet they’re better off away from the shite we had to put up with.I can say this the longer we are not put in the picture, the harder the club will feel from the fans. Missive lost of revenue.
Ah sorry Bill, shouldn’t make such wild assumptions about managers and brains 🙂 Here’s hoping the U21’s give us something to cheer this evening.
Hitch, I’m not sure all that’s been said about Okore from Black is true?, hes intermated that he thought he should have played and not benched, Black wanted him to be a sub and not start, apparently Okore refused the bench and Black relegated him to the 21s. He’s now saying Black and him have other issues that made Black do that.
Just thinking of Okore sitting with the away fans at Walsall and it started me wondering.
Is it possible that he’s got himself in a spot of bother because he’s the only player who actually does give a damn? Knowing you could do a better job than the dross that gets picked week in, week out, must be bloody galling.
And who the f*** is Black anyway? He’s only someone who’s been there five minutes so I don’t particularly trust him anyway.
Personally I’m willing to wait and see what the the truth of the matter is before I have a go at Okore.
With you Pat57, we’ve had enough lies from Villa park.
Black is quoted in the Times saying he does not want to bring youngsters into the team because of the toxic atmosphere at Villa Park.
The cause of the toxic atmosphere has been his & Garde’s persistence with poor players, many of them in the wrong positions. So the fans turn up after the last home debacle and see the same clowns in the same shirts – no changes. You have to be dim to expect that – if five or six youngsters were fielded – the crowd would not switch to all out encouragement. Of course they would, it is only the optimistic fans who are still turning up!
Is the toxic attitude unique to Villa Park? No it is less toxic than Bloomfield Road and about the same as the (far from happy) Valley. There is another ground which turns very sour come April every year, the Emirates. In this case the fans are seeing the all too familiar late fade by Arsenal who begin every August like world-beaters. Predictable but nothing done, that is what annoys the fans there and at VP.
Every non-Villa fan I know thinks the Villa Park fans are very fair compared with the one-eyed knuckle-scrapers at Anfield or Old Trafford.
The Arsenal comparison shows just how fickle fans can be: five titles and five FAC wins, and nineteen years successive CL qualification [not checked the exact numbers but think they’re correct !] – yet Wenger seems to have been getting tons of abuse near the end of each season for the last few years.
What would Villa fans give for that sort of record – or would we all be moaning that the team won’t win the EPL again, and hasn’t managed to reach the CL finals?
Under 21s score 2-1 utv
Villa win!
I know its only the under 21s but I’ve really not used that phrase much recently.
Well done lads!
Great news Bill – something to celebrate in this annum horribilis! – seeing as they have been claiming the Queen’s a Villa fan.
