Villa – Nottingham Forest; Just blindly hoping for a win

Perhaps it’s just me, but I have to be honest in saying that my interest in this season is massively waning at the moment.
There’s just nothing for me to get excited about.

The league cup defeat left me on a downer, for reasons I’ve already cited and it just seems we’re constantly losing momentum. Bruce saying he got it wrong because we lost is just BS to me. Surely he knows that our back-up second eleven really isn’t that strong?
Starting Hutton at Left back and then moving him into the middle should explain everything, in my opinion.

But this is the league tomorrow, where we’ll play our best eleven. Or at least what Bruce perceives as our best eleven.
I read a (neutral site) article earlier that said Forest will be doing well if they can finish as high as their current 10th in the league.
So why do I get the feeling that we’re worried about this game, when I look around the Villa sites, generally?

It’s probably because Bruce has as much clue as what the line-up will be as we do.

And I’m getting the really strong feeling that everything Bruce is saying is being controlled from above too.

We’re going to go with a two up top and be more expansive, apparently, according to the headlines I’ve seen on Newsnow.
Not that I could be bothered to actually read the articles.

It’s all about the result and nothing else matters, if Bruce is going to retain his job for much longer.
Hence, given that we’re supposed to be amongst the favourites to win the league I have to go for the win.

3-1, it is then.
But realistically, anything less than a win is unacceptable.
Roll on some excitement.

Who would you rather have as your manager, Bruce or Warburton, it would be Warburton for me every time, he did a great job at Brentford, didn’t really get time at Rangers. He is a ‘think outside the box’ type of manager, and that is why I am fearful of the game tomorrow….1-1.

I’m not convinced I’d want Warburton.
In a results-oriented world, he’s done nothing in England.

Although you’d expect he has an eye for kids, given that he was instrumental in starting the Nextgen cup thingy (according to Wiki).

I don’t care who the manager is and it just sums my thoughts up.
It can be anyone. Even McCleish, if he gets us wins.

Warburton? Really? We would really be scraping the bottom of the barrel there.

Forget midweek it means nothing. Think back to the Barnsley game and we looked quality! Get our 1st 11 back out there and we will brush forrest aside tonight. How can you lose interest 8 games in? Were 7 points from top of the league! Not exactly far away is it. Kodjia to score 2 tonight. Davis with another. 3-1 to the Villa.

That’s true but we are only 8 points from bottom spot which isn’t far away either. We should beat Forest but I’m not convinced. A lot depends as usual on our approach to the game. If we are too cautious it will backfire. Forest concede plenty of goals so we should go for the jugular. Then again, not really Bruce’s style

Pre-match optimism, post match pessimism. That seems to be the way to approach Villa under Bruce. So right now I am going for a win, Villa 2-0.

The reality is we would not expect to attract a Prem manager to take the job. But we should be aiming for the smartest manager in the Championship. In your opinion – who is he?

Bit close for comfort. Didn’t deserve to win or lose game but had a bit of luck. Forest do what we normally do and beat themselves

Good result and the midweek team selection justified.

Well done lads and well done Brucie, you’re proving your doubters wrong and pissing a few off along the way it seems.

On to Burton and another 3 points.

    COYL.

We ARE behind the team…..BUT…..surely you could see there were issues that need resolving.Negativity being one….but could be resolved if we can build on this mini run.
