Yes, that’s what I still think of it as and that’s what it always will be to me.
I can’t be doing with this sponsorship rubbish and reckon I’m not alone.
It’s hard to think what to say about this game as most Villa fan’s opinions are that they don’t care a stuff about this game and would rather we just survive in the Premier league, even if we were to lose tomorrow.
I totally understand that thinking and mostly agree with it, but at the same time, I don’t believe we should just give up on the game.
Certainly Dean Smith won’t be willing to throw the game away, as it is silverware after all, as much as it would be little consolation if we were to get relegated later.
Let’s do the squad news and Keinan Davis has trained since Monday, so might be available.
Given that we have nothing to lose for this game I’d like to see Smith change something up and wonder if he might consider two up top, with Davis and Samatta? I could see a decent pairing there.
I don’t think it’ll happen though.
The only other news is that John McGinn isn’t anywhere near ready, but we all knew that anyway.
As for City, they’ll be without Aymeric Laporte, after he imjured his Hamstring.
Winger Leroy Sane is the only other player unavailable.
Not that it matters much They could have a dozen injuries and still put a good side out.
I think the big question is will the manager persist with 3/5 at the back or will he change to a 4?
I have a feeling he will change, because our midfield will just be overwhelmed if we don’t and again we don’t have much to lose if we try.
Then we simply can’t sit back, as we did in the home spanking or we’ll just get a similar result, which will hopefully mean the fans see an entertaining game.
I know what you’re thinking.
How will it be entertaining when we’re getting tonked?
Well, there’s the thing. I really have a sneaky feeling we won’t get our behinds kicked; certainly not by many anyway.
I know, I’m nuts!
But this is football remember, where anything can happen.
Who’d have given Watford a prayer against Liverpool today, for example?
And just as many of us didn’t think we’d beat Leicester, you just never know.
I have to be really honest and say I’m really struggling to say we’ll win.
A massive part of me is thinking something like a 4-1 loss, but I think it’ll be much tighter than that.
I’m going to go for a 2-2 draw at full time.
And then anything really can happen.
It’s a one-off game remember.

like I was saying right winger in space picks out Aguero 1-0. If I can see it wtf can’t they?
No one other than Grealish goes forwards, the others pass back or side to side . That goal one of many I’m afraid.
Good support from Villa fans,
Now it’s all over 🙁
Christ. This is going to be a rout…
We have no chance when the ref gives a corner when it’s a goal kick. We might as well go home now. It’s hard enough to play 11 let alone 14.
Anyway – sorry lads but I’ve seen enough.
100% shouldn’t have been a corner.
Fucked over again.
how exhaustingly embarrassing it is to suffer watching these useless assholes week after week. utterly shameful crap
It’s like a practice match for them. Where is the tackling and the press. Guilbert and Targett just can’t defend.
What, Targett is an utterly shit defender?
Us fans knew this when we signed him!
8th time Nyland beaten by City, and he wasn’t anywhere near good enough to get to that.
Definitely looked like he should have done better.
That sign “Whn the fun stops, stop”, are they talking about being a Villa fan?
I just can’t see any positives. ☹️
WTF do they do in training. We look like a league 2 team.
You really shouldn’t insult league 2 teams Holte 🙂
Fuck me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes. Samatta!
Bullet header!
Great header by Sanatta, back in in pro tem.
A lifeline! Don’t waste it boys!!!
Good header
A sucker punch for Citeh after they should have been well out of sight. Might be worth throwing Davis on alongside Samatta if we are still in the game with 20 minutes left.
Definitely a worthwhile change at HT, for Targett. then somebody else will have to fill in at left side of defence, they cannot be more absent than the Invisible Defender.
First 10 minutes will be crucial. We need to get in their faces. They are practically walking their way into our box.
I said on previous post Taggatt was slow and couldn’t defend, its plain like the nose on your face that John McGinn is missed in the middle, 1 player moves the ball up field, the rest haven’t a clue. GREALISH again with the move to ElGarzi, why can he not see that we haven’t a creator with a ball only side to side or knock it back. All our centre forwards have took the stick for no service from wingers or midfielders. 4-1 City.
Taylor for Targett should be first change – at least Taylor can defend. Having said that the second goal wasn’t Targett’s fault.
I would bring Davis on for El Mohamady – play a bit narrower.
Just a word for El Ghazi – he’s contributing and he can cross a ball.
Sorry about the swearing Badger!
I don’t mind inter-game fella.
Emotions and all that.
Targett really is bleeding useless as a defender if you watch him closely.
Never gets tight or puts the boot in.
Sterling has got nothing out of Guilbert.
Now booked for a reckless tackle.
De Bruyn coming on 🙁
