Following on from the signing of Grant Holt, who couldn’t get a start at the mighty Wigan and our pursuit of Wes Hoolahan, who can’t get a start in the stunning Norwich side, it now seems we’ve set our sights on James McArthur from……….

Never and I mean never, do I recall us being linked to such lowly players, given our current standing in the game.
I’m thoroughly depressed at reading these sort of links, but I suspect there’s possibly something in it, even though the source is pretty unreliable, in my experience;

Now I’m not convinced there’s any legs in this rumour, but it’s a fair indicator of how we’re seen from an outsider’s point of view and it ain’t pretty.
We’re seen as a struggling club, that has spent but now won’t.
That is, a club possibly about to go into a downwards spiral.
The similarities to Wolves are frankly beginning to seriously worry me, if the truth is told.
And you know what the worrying part about this rumour is?
We might be willing to give them one of our players in exchange, on top of a fee.
What price that that player will be Marc Albrighton? A player that at least gives us an option, regardless of what you think of him and one who won player of the month just a few weeks back.
After all, let’s face it, he’s just far too expensive for a club like the Villa when he’s on around £25k a week.
I just want this window over with, as it’s turning into a nightmare scenario for me now.

Yes, I did hint that they talk bollox, but I still suspect there might be something in the fact that we’re willing to hand out our players in exchange.

I think this would be quite a good buy, but don’t see it happening, I agree with Benno
Might get stick for this but…James McArthur is a great player that would be useful to us. Prem experience, just what we need, creative, just what we need. I know he’s from Wigan but I remember him being linked to PL clubs this summer.
