It’s another massive game against the Baggies and while it’s great to be in the FA Cup and I’d give up plenty for us to actually go on and win it, I have to confess that I think the game on Tuesday was far more important.
That’s not to say I won’t be gutted if we fail to win the game. It’s just that Premier league survival is more important at the moment, even though the FA cup is the only trophy I’ve failed to see us lift.
No doubt some of you might disagree.
Squad news then and although I thought we had loads of problems at the back, it seems Ron Vlaar might be available. Hutton’s suspended.
And that’s about it, from what I’ve seen.
For Albion, Darren Fletcher is cup tied, Anichibe is out with a groin injury and Mcnanamum is doubtful.
So what do I think?
Well, if it’s as good a game as Tuesday, I’ll be reasonably happy. Equally so if perform as well.
And if we get another win, I’ll be ecstatic.
You have to wonder how much Tuesday will have taken out of both teams, as Villa seemed to tire somewhat and Tony Pulis said the Albion were a bit jaded; hence even though it’s a Derby game with an extra edge, I think we might see more mistakes and possibly not as fluent a game.
Although I suppose we are possibly slight favourites to win, I think it’s going to be close and it’s very difficult to call. Win this one though and it puts in a nice position for the Sunderland game.
I’m going to go for it and say we’ll win 2-1.
Fingers and everything else crossed.

I can’t wait for this one. Let’s hope the strikers are coming back into form.
Goals galore in this one 5-1 VILLA. 😀
I hope you’re right Giddy, but I don’t see it.
Talk of Benteke not being in the squad.
Given; Bacuna, Vlaar, Okore, Lowton; Cleverley, Westwood, Delph; Sinclair, Agbonlahor, N’Zogbia.
Seems Benteke’s injured
Bench: Guzan, Weimann, Sanchez, Gil, Kinsella, Calder, Grealish.
Not even a CB on the bench. Either Clark’s injured or Sherwood’s protecting him from getting suspended.
2-1 VILLA.
Can’t believe the team, thought it would be a good opportunity to give grealish, gil, and sanchez a game and see if they deserve a chance for more prem time.
I think we will lose without benteke and Clark but as long as we beat Sunderland I won’t be too disappointed.
Seems Clark is playing. Hmmm
Sherwood has been talking Gabby up too.
I’d guess he must be injured, but we just kept quiet about it.
Benteke, I mean, not Gabby obviously.
You pissed MATE I am. 😀
No, been to work mate.
COYL!
Benteke hip injury.
That changes things Benteke not playing, don’t think I can call this now, I’m a coward.
Atmoshere sounds brilliant.
I wish I was there 🙁
Nice to win this game give the team more confidence. Sunderland game more important for me. Come on the Villa
Jesus, I’m worried!
I’ve got absolutely no confidence when we’re going forward.
Without anyone to hump it to, its back to the norm. CNZ will be shite today as will Lowton. Had their decent games midweek
I’m surprised that beachball didn’t go off in handcuffs.
I think with tekkers out ooffing the ball into the box is futile.
Gil as to get a run out. He will take on player’s .
Dave fully agreed MATE
Has Gabby had a single touch yet?
Set pieces need seriously addressing
Sinclair (as I didn’t know he was playing until that run) or N’Zog off and Gil on.
Disappointing
Surely there will be a change, half of them look terrified once they cross into WBA half!!
Well that was shit! What has happened since Tuesday night??
Dont think you can play with Sinclair Gabby and Nzog, they are all the same type of player, head down and dribble. You have to have a creative player in there somewhere. Grealsih or Gil need to be on 2nd half.
Also we are missing have proper fullbacks.
Dellph, get in.
Good square ball from Bacuna too.
Get the players up there and you have a chance!
