The new season is just round the corner and we have had a few players in and are awaiting maybe one or two more.We have signed Phil Senderos,Joe Cole,Kieran Richardson and recently Aly Cissokho.
Senderos,Cole and Cissokho have all played at Champions League level which should bring a wealth of footballing know how to the team.
Roy Keane joining was met with mixed views but for me was a good addition to AVFC bringing in a man who is a winner at the highest level,who has managed,has guts and connections.Im all for Roy Keane and think Lambert and Keane will do well.
Now onto recent rumours of players linked with AVFC.
There is nothing concrete in these rumours so take them as you will.
There is a lot of talk of Carlos Sanchez the Columbian DM from Elche joining AVFC.It is not concrete but he is said to be joining at the latest Tuesday this is just talk so let’s see what happens.
Also another rumour is we have tabled a new bid for Ki which is a deal Roy Keane has had his hand in sorting out but we will have to wait and see on that one to.
Would love both in to strengthen the midfield which is in my opinion the main priority….utv

Sky Sports understands Aston Villa are set to sign Elche’s Colombian midfielder Carlos Sanchez with the player flying to England to undergo his medical. Villa have agreed a €6million(£4.7million) for Sanchez with the player expected to sign a four-year deal at Villa Park subject to his medical.

It emerged yesterday that Elche midfielder Carlos Sanchez may be a target for Aston Villa, and reports in Spain now say that he is to fly in for a medical this morning and sign a three-year contract after the clubs struck a deal. Elche are keen to bring in a replacement quickly and are thought to be in talks with Swansea City over Jose Canas.

Top 10 here we come! Impressed with this signing and Cissokho. Fair play to Lambert. Whenever he has spent half decent money (Benteke, Vlaar, Kozak, Okore) they been good players. Lets hope Carlos and Aly work out as well!
Agreed Langford; PL has come in for a lot of criticism, some deserved, some not given the restrictions he has been operating under. I think his open acceptance that ‘young and hungry’ hasn’t worked is a plus not a negative UTV

Hitchens …..I think Randy forced his arm with the ‘young and hungry’ philosophy. Without the bomb squad being available there was an acute shortage of both numbers and finance. This left Lambert very little choice….he had to bring in numbers on the cheap. Thats the way I saw it anyway!
The 6 players I mention above cost approx 22 million. I say thats really good business!
