Since I posted last week the revelation of the £90 Million share investment has got a lot of fans wondering what it is.
At the time the great David Conn from the Guardian said he would look into it and I am sure he will. However not one single local journo has replied back to me. Tonight Tom Ross interviewed Faulkner who said things were improving but Tom never asked him about it.
Why the silence ?
Apparently Mat Kendrick said it was ‘housekeeping’ but that is not correct and I don’t believe he has asked the club the right questions ?
Why not ?
Given tonights news with Holt it is clear we are not spending in this window. Now I could rant and rave about that but no point because I believe bigger things are going on. this £90M is deeply significant for how the club will be run in the future and yet silence from the club.
If I was a journo I would want to know what is happening and why we are forced to go for Wigan players on the bench on loan, it does not get lower than that (forget the player). People laughed at West Ham getting Roger Johnson this is just as bad.
I do believe and my conviction on this is getting stronger that this £90M represents a large shift behind the scenes at Villa. I said for a long time the belt tightening was a plan for Randy’s exit and hoping to hang on in the PL at the same time.
Stan Collymore today repeated the line about Red Bull. Now he is just repeating a well trod rumour BUT he has brought it into a wider audience.
I ask myself if the silence is due to movements soon, the journo’s have the story but asked to keep quiet.
Otherwise why not ask the question ?
i am more happy with second half ~ pool will be another tough or even tougher test ~ but benteke is the key if we can get him 2 play again we will av no worries ~ bacuna is improving now hes been asked 2 play midfield ~ its ok reducing wages for squad players that aren’t playing but again this season aston villa players are lacking in experience,
i like burgers and pies but i love us 2 get 2 midfielders b4 deadline
18 months into a the ‘new’ project.. four strikers signed.. two others in the squad.. and we are bringing in Grant Holt on loan.. we can all see how the project is going..
actually I look on the Holt deal as a sign that things will change …
the money is there (before the 90M) to actually get the quality required but we are dealing with very short term options now.
Can I speculate as to why ?
Things are changing and why allow long term expensive deals.
Lionheart the word is ‘desperation’mate.
i am aston villa supporter not a spokesperson 4 the club, i am as sad as all villa fans are, my views are just that ~ i hope holt helps keep aston villa up, i understand that his wigan spell wasn’t fruitful and hes 3o plus but hes got a final crack at premier~ its horses for courses ~ no risk he is back up and example 2 younger strikers ~ if he does get a game or 2 he will be a handful i av seen him a few times and he certainly is physical and players feed of him
Nath ‘they can feed off him’ there’s enough there to get you through winter mate.feed a family of 4 you could.
Lol @Giddy
lol cannibalize him burgers alround
Signing Holt is ridiculous. Has to be the worst signing in the history of the premier league and all for what? Two goals against championship sides.. sorry Lambert but you already lost to them. If we wanted an experienced striker, oh I don’t know… lets see… oh that’s right we have Bent out on loan who scored premier league goals in bags for years. But hey I guess Lambert is a stupid, useless, arrogant wanker.
how did everyone rate the referee last nite???
i thought he never gave villa anything only stonewall-er free-kicks in none dangerous areas. plus it took around same time 2 take baker off who was unconscious and rosicky who had a runny nose ~ plus arsenal wanted 2 play on until guzan had the ball and released it up field then they wanted 2 stop play ~ rosicky had treatment on field changed top and was back in b4 game restarted GRRRRRRRRRRRR ok he was ltr subbed with injury runny nose

Manchester City have now confirmed John Guidetti has joined Stoke on loan.
the ireland transfer should go through

In order to sign John Guidetti, Stoke had to end one of their other Premier League loan deals and that has been achieved by signing Stephen Ireland permanently from Aston Villa
now irelands gone a midfield spot is vacant Lewis Holtby is available 2 loan hes the type albeit lacks premier experience but he oozes class and vision
