The games are coming thick and fast aren’t they?
Which is exactly what we could have done without at the moment as Steve Bruce is hardly going to get any time to go through tactics, let alone get some proper fitness training in.
If lack of fitness is the issue, that is.
I saw an argument yesterday that basically said the lack of fitness argument was a poor one that’s often been used by managers at the Villa. Now that may well be true, but Bruce said it’s “blatantly obvious” and didn’t beat about the bush when he directly pointed the finger at RDM.
Hence I think lack of fitness is to blame, at least partly, in my opinion.
I also think there’s a mental problem too, but that’s not all, because I think there’s some other intangible issues too.
We’ve changed the owner for a better one and we’ve spent loads of money on new players. But managers who get sacked for us don’t tend to get decent jobs afterwards and after that performance against Wolves we seem to ruin players.
I said in the replies it’s almost like we’re cursed.
Whatever can go wrong invariably does.
Which all in all is why I have no faith whatsoever that we’re going to get a point tonight. In fact I think we’re going to be doing well if we can keep the difference down to two goals.
The sadder part is while I think Bruce is the man to sort us out, I think it’s going to take a good while longer than I thought.
Which for me means we’ve no chance of automatic promotion or even a playoff place.
A good few of you will probably say you’ve thought that for a while, but I always at least try to stay positive and hopeful, which is why it’s taken so long to dawn on me.
So there you go then, a comfortable win for the home team and another poor showing for the over four thousand Villa fans who will be making the trip.
How they keep turning out for such little reward is beyond me.
Reading to win 2-0
Oh, by the way, I strongly recommend you have a read of this article. It’s unrelated to the game but is a brilliant indictment of the Premier league, in my opinion;

Gestede left wing with Adomah up top.
A fluid front 3?
Works for me.
No support when we break and difficult to see where the goal will come from.
Still sounds ok though.
Reading not offering much atm.
we’ve parked the bus quite nicely.
how we have fallen
parking the bus at reading
looked at stats on sky
reading 72% possesion
reading 4 corners villa 0
I think I might be talking about that in the review thoughts.
Possession 73% Reading.
The shit are 3-1 up 🙁
It’s not how much you have but what you do with it that counts! Well that’s what the wife tells me! 🙂
Reading average 66%possession per game
Scum are playing the worst team in this league
We have such a piss poor midfield when it comes to attacking
We’re all about containing the opposition.
I’d rather we just went direct and had 2 forwards pushed right up with Gardner (or a sub) joining them.
Kodjia or an OG
1-0!
I was first Badger
🙂
Goal
Kodjia
Get in there please please add to it
description lol
Can’t mate.
Seemed to come from nothing.
And I was typing at the time 🙂
Bit of a cock up by Reading defence though – still don’t care how we score. Now can we hold on?
no hold on 🙁 attack attack attack
Gollini parries when he should have held.
Coms talking about how we need a second.
1-0. Maybe this time
Get in, the big question is can we add to it.
Adomah got into good position left box crossed to right front corner of box – shot by Kodjia to centre if goal where two Reading defenders and the goal keeper managed to put it into the net – under no pressure!
Now let’s see if this falling away comes into play, its attack attack now Villa go for it.
grealish is banned 3 games
Disgusting Nath.
Good the petulant shit!!
Reading trying the cross field diagonal to our LB area.
Villa 3 on target, Reading 1
Villa corner.
Half time now,
I don’t half wish that was the final whistle 18th as it stands
HT
Should be an interesting 2nd half.
Very organised and compact and we’ve actually crowded the oppo out in the middle.
Bollox to the attacking, if this is working, imo.
Winning dirty, remember.
No change 2nd half
Sounds like the Reading fans are not too happy.
Bacuna 25 yarder goes wide.
Al Absi nearly gives it away to Bacuna in the danger area.
Villa growing.
