I stated my case about why I believe Lambert has to go in my previous post, but I see some people are still asking for a poll, even though it seems the consensus is that he should indeed go.
It’s been backed up by polls on various other Villa sites, but I’m always happy to oblige if people ask.
I haven’t seen many posts on any site saying that we shouldn’t get rid of Lambert, but perhaps I’m reading things wrong.
Hence from a purely personal point of view, I’d like to see any arguments about why Lambert should stay.

Agreed saddened we need someone who can do their magic, the only one available is pulis who I feel fits the bill.only problem being our financial restraints could be the stumbling block.
Everywhere Pulis has worked there has been financial constraints, so I think he would jump at the chance.
He has never managed a club as big as Villa.
Trouble is he tells the media that fucks the chairman off p45 adios.
Ps Lerner wants yes men pulis don’t fit that criteria unfortunately.
No, as much as most of us want rid of Lambert, I’m afraid we are stuck with him.
I wonder what it would take for him to get the bullet?????when it’s too late????
Good question. We have had two-and-a-half diabolical years with this fool. During this time we have had shocking runs, poor results, cup exits to lower league teams and god know’s how many records broken.
I feel the turning point could be when the home crowd finally turn on and I don’t mean just booing the team off.
The away fans turned on him at Palace last season but that was it.
I really feel us fans have a big part to play.
At the moment, everything is so passive at Villa Park. People just sit there and do nothing.
Maybe our next game/defeat to Southampton could be that time?
Whatever happens, as a club we can’t carry on as we have been for these last 4/5 years.
Fully agree.this cannot continue.
I never thought i would say this about the Villa. The club i have supported for over 40 years.
I am just bored of it all.
Steve, I know its a shite club at the minute, but I’m still claret and blue, and it hurts; what pisses me off is the club don’t do anything to give us fans encouragement as to what hope they can give in the future, surely the board, the owner, knows it cannot go on, fans are leaving in the droves, I don’t know the answer, only fuck Lambert of and a new owner that cares.
Off,-
i see roy keane really rates clark, ward who played 3tier last season koegh making hi debut while never having played top flight playing ahead of him for ireland
It’s d luck o de oirish…
I see MON is getting found out even his media mates didn’t defend and more or less said his tactics are outdated. Quinn said his tactics were hit the front man with a long ball and flick on sound familiar anyone. What a couple of jokers MON and keane are and just as big a joker is lamberk completely shit
Well the game on Mon will be 140 years anniversary and look We’re we are it’s the perfect game to revolt and show your anger towards lambert
Yeah we will lose 1.0 and the lamberk apologists will be saying what a great job he’s doing. The fans are spineless too scared or too content to voice Ther opinions.
Niall Quinn, the master tactician??
Do me a favour.
And we already know you hated MON.
I’d bet a pound to a pinch of proverbial that he’d do a better job than Lambert, given the same restraints, though.
He knows how to motivate people (albeit maybe in the short term), as opposed to Lambert.
What were your thoughts about Maloney, (who apparently scored a wonder goal tonight) when he was down the Villa?
I have a feeling you thought he was too lightweight?
When maloney was at the villa o’neil never played him.
As it happened I did rate Maloney but MON prob didn’t like having a player that could go forward with flair. Young was just a fluke
Ah u hit the nail or Niall on the head the short term. MON would do well for a few months then be found out. I know your a MON apologist so have to agree to differ
He did occasionally Steve, I think if I remember correctly he wasn’t happy at Villa, maybe didn’t get on with Mon, or as they said home sick, to be honest I liked him thought he had promise.
I read he was home sick for Scotland but then played for wigan so I doubt that’s true MON is an overrated myth. He’s done nothing since he left us in the shit
Anyone think Pochettino is overrated? Slightly fortunate timing with the way he came into Southampton. Nigel Adkins had started to turn things around with results against us and Chelsea. They had a wealth of young talent to choose from and the majority of players that did well the following season were signed by the Adkins/Pardew regime.
I guess what I’m trying to say is we need to be wary of a foreign coach coming in. For every one that works out there’s a Pepe Mel. Can sometimes be a short turnaround in results and feel good factor, but ultimately in our case the instability at board room level through to first team/youth squads would be too much. I agree that someone like Southgate/McLaren could steady the ship and communicate/implement ideas better throughout the club.
totally agree with all you said fastjet81, i forgot pepe mel reign at baggies another forgettable contribution,
Mclaren would be a fantastic manager for us. Never understand why nobody wanted him, we’ll look at derby now hey! Should have been promted last season and they are playing some great football. I think derby fans allowed him a chance and it really worked for them
The wally with the brolly that’s why
with hind sight i wished we had gone with mclaren instead of lambert now ( i did want lambert ) i thought lambert would have been the best choice, as he was used to working with no money and thats our biggest problem, no money and owner who lacks any football knowledge.
i didn’t want mclaren as much as lambert, cos i thought the england experience would take a longer time 2 recover from. but mclaron would av worked more with the whole squad youth included, lambert should av been using the youth more, instead of buying some of the 2mill buys that were dire
hard to say but if mclaron had been now in his 3rd season as lambert is 2day, i would think he would have villa more settled and in much healthier position
I remember when mclaren was mentioned on this site and there was uproar
I have to say Nath so did I, I thought it was time to stop wages and agents running away with our sport, I didn’t think what damage one manager and owner could cause, you know that old saying better the devil you know, its bloody right in our case. How the hell we get away with this manager god knows, I’ve been watching young England under 21s/ under19s the skills they have unbelievable, where the hell are our young hopefuls , if he play young lads we have, I could take the loss in a game, not what he does with the so called main players.
exactly bill where are the young players, robinson and grealish apart where are our future players, lambert as manager needs to explain, what has he and his coaches done to improve our youth. the point of having such a top class youth set up is to produce top players. look around players like gary cahill ,steve davis and craig gardiner all are playing premiership for other teams. us fans would relate to our team more, if they are home produced rather than coming for clearly the money
He’s loaned most of them out, he’s totally turned this young & Hungry ideology on its head.why the fuck carnt he mix it up a bit & more than anything fuck gabby off.
Nath, Giddy, very little comes out of Villa to give us any hope of getting better, is it sending our youth out to save money ? It certainly not in our case to get experience, how can it, Gardner, Robinson, I bet I can look at 10 different teams and see our players, playing for them and should have stayed with us, we have no ambitious intent to be more than a footballing club going nowhere.
robinson and gardiner both these two should be in and around the team i totally agree but iam not sure why unless lambert doesn’t rate um , we av delp out and sanchez was defintly off the pace slowly hes progressing but why are we allowing him time but not gardiner,
nzog and gabby both are off form and both playing playing well below the standards required robinson could and should be putting um under pressure to perform and grealish if hes staying and not being loaned out he should be playing so part also
i did see nzog play slightly better last game but hes still miles away from his form at wigan year before he was bought
iam not sure that was his ideology, he clearly was told 2 reduce wages and that naturally would av meant lower class of players being recruited and higher earning players being offloaded. but we have a youth team and these players should have been used, if they aren’t good enough WHY ??? also lamberts recruits haven’t exactly set the world alive. its head scratching but clearly we need somebody to inject a style of play like we are used to and this means from under 10 to all the way to the first team,
loaning the players out is a good thing as if they aren’t in our team, they are at least getting competitive game time, its great for the player and us as a club.it also reduces the wages for randy lol
I don’t even think Gardner wants to come back,he’s enjoying his footy & plays regularly.
That’s what I’m saying , he should be playing for us, as Nath just said our coaching has to be looked at if its come to loaning out fairly reasonable players who are making their name for them.
off topic looks like england are playing without wingers, width provided by the fullbacks wot ever nxt
Is that aimed at me 😀 ????????
not at all, its just a observation, no wingers but it doesn’t mean u av no width. this england system is close to ours and its how your players play the system and villa front 3 behind the striker are not effecting the game, thats what i believe is wrong
Obviously the top teams get it right as I’ve said before we’ve fuckall width wise.is it the players or the manager who’s at fault personally I blame both mate.
its not the fault of system like a few ppl av accused, ur right its the managers overall fault hes running the football side. if players like nzog and gabby cant play the system or just off form they should be dropped and cole grealish robinson these players should get a chance
Nath that is how I see it, its like watching Villa, boring game that, he has to change at half time, at least I hope he does,
do you know bill i think this site could run our club, between us better than lambert lerner i will excuse mr fox as hes not had time yet but its a pity they don’t listen to the fans as we DO know best
NATH think how many managers stand/sit in the terraces week in week out.I think we couldn’t do a worse job than that twat.
A good mixture youth with experience, why don’t he give it a bash.the way things stand we’ve got fuck all to lose LOL.
As daft as it sounds the crowd tends to give a little more leeway to the homegrown players too. Less moans and groans if they do make mistakes as they don’t carry the hefty (or moderate in our case) price tags.
Might as well get Gardener, Grealish and Robinson more involved in the first team for this reason and the fact they can’t perform much worse than our so called established players.
Hasn’t helped being dumped out of league and fa cup in the early rounds to lower league opposition though. That’s certainly one of the factors that has stunned their early development.
They’re the games to give them first team experience and build confidence. Stop f@$*ing it up Lambert!
We’re not out the fa cup already are we?????
Think so giddy as soon as we go in we are out.
Haha Giddy, I’m jumping the gun. Meant to say in last few years.
Mate I’m sure you weren’t being premature anyway, you’ll be saying the same this time next season.as Bill says as quick as we’re in we’re knocked straight back out.
