This January window was meant to be a desicive turning point for Villa, bringing in fresh players, who may have Premier League experience who can help Villa escape relegation. Well as things have turned out, it’s become incredibly difficult for Villa or Garde to really convince anyone to join the club. We’ve been linked with a host of players with media speculating that Sane, Debuchy and Kalinic were close to joining the club. None of this has so far materialised, sparking belief that it has become very difficult for Garde to convince players to join the club.
On the way out we’ve see Joe Cole permanently move to Coventry, Bennet, Gardner and Crespo have all gone out on loan. More interestingly, the media have also reported that LA Galaxy offered £3 million for Lescott, meaning that Villa would’ve profited! But that bid was most likely rejected, with Lescott continue to play alongside Okore. And more recently Swansea were reportedly in for Scott Sinclair, after putting in a £2 million move (too little in my opinion) but that might’ve been rejected as well since Sinclair started in the FA Cup game against Wycombe.
The lack of transfer activity is disappointing, mainly because we are now picking up points and if this form continues, you never know what can happen. But I am still in favour of bringing in two players on loan, so even if we did go down, we would not be stuck paying their wages, remember Alfonso Alves, Zigic and Mitroglou? Our current form is great, the players are starting to understand Garde’s philosophies and the club might be able to climb forward, to at least 19th place that is.
Well Hollis saying the worst crisis in over a decade, doesn’t that put us into Dirty Doug’s realm? That means to me he knew a crisis was on the cards, he’s to blame and made the start of our down fall.
Bill, as you know I believe Deadly has a lot to answer for.
Hitch sorry we both replied at same time, yes mate he has.
No need to apologise Bill.
Just read Lawrenson’s predictions – why do I do that when I think the mans a prize t**t. Anyway, as he sees it we rode our luck in the last two prem games and were fortunate to come away with any points! So Leicester got a fortunate penalty and we got denied an obvious one – and Pardew himself said they didn’t perform – all that seems to have passed him by! I don’t have an issue with him predicting an Albion win but I do with his complete lack of respect for our football club.
Hitch , makes your blood boil to think a club like Villa can now be a target of shear hate of us, why? I think its because our so called owners trying to change pay packages of footballers and Agents, because we won’t pay a good players the money they ask, we don’t get them, no player would think of going to Villa knowing what future have they got, we are on our own now and a long way to get back.
Keeper deal off
Fox Hollis Reilly alstad big group all together
More money saved
So, given that the January window was going to save our season…it is now the 22nd, and we have signed absolutely nobody, not even on loan. Pathetic. Garde looks like he is going to need a miracle.
The board should be put up aganist a wall and shot crimes committed against Aston Villa football club.
Brilliant Super cup link BWS……last match that I took the wife too……we were right by where Gary scored….it didnt show the best bit where Alan Evans thought he was a footballer for a few seconds and then instantly wack their player for getting the ball off him….hilarious.
What about Ken Mcnought, he jiggle with the goalkeeper pretending to box with him the ref moved in thinking it was a fight. Now that was a football team.
Mark my words people in high profile positions who do not fully understand the situation and understand the mechanics of running a football club will eventually get caught out and will fall on their own sword.
I feel for Garde and reading his comments today he knows he has to make good with the tools he has been given to work with.
What has actually gone wrong as no one has really said what is actually wrong behind the scenes and who has caused the long term dimize of our great club. Grow some bollocks and sort quick, it is our club and you are just the short term custodians.
I was just reading an article about who Garde should pick between Kozak and Gestede. The seriously depressing fact is that I really don’t care who he picks, neither of them are Premier League quality. Ayew is our best chance of getting something tomorrow.
