Perhaps Lambert’s a genius in disguise?

My conspiracy theory brain is kicking in…bear with me here.

Perhaps Benteke isn’t injured at all? Perhaps Lambert wants to keep him quiet this season or at least until January goes away to stop any suiters coming in with a bid?

Perhaps the same with the evidently non-existent Helenius?

Perhaps Okore isn’t even injured?

Perhaps the loss of form of Lowton, Westwood, Benteke and Weimann is designed?

Perhaps KEA is the next Iniesta? (okay, that ones not serious)

Perhaps he’s playing hoofball to stop any interest in any of our players so he can build his squad without any losses in personnel? It strikes me as strange the sudden change in our style of play. Last season when we beat Swansea for example we played them at their own passing game and did it well…

…Perhaps he’s purposely playing shite football?

Perhaps his constant and incoherant post and pre-match mumblings are a mask, hiding the reality that we have a genius at the helm of our team, who will one day present himself…?

Perhaps after January we’ll have a fully fit squad, play passing football again and finish top 7?

Perhaps this has been part of the plan all along and we’re quietly trudging along under the radar slowly building a strong and solid squad, ready to show our full potential when Lambert (the genius) sees fit?

It’s a thought isn’t it?
It’s been a loong christmas, perhaps I need to sleep…

    2. Sorry Terry, but that has more to do with you not knowing about football outside of the EPL rather than Defour being some no namer. A very well known name, quality, tidy, solid midfielder with a host of experience and a gem if it happens. Falling out at Porto really will go a long way for us as he also wants an EPL move.

            1. Remember fergie was given more time than any modern day manager and was one game away from the sack. Their players were very ordinary then he was lucky to get a once in a lifetime golden generation of youngsters. They should never have won the inaugural prem we were cheated out if it when the ref added on half an hr for them to score the winner. Psychologically we never recovered from that. And ever since he’s had loads if huge decisions go his way from ref decisions to manipulating the fixture list. No wonder he did well.

  12. Benteke is available today having been back since Monday and trained ok. Vlaar has been doing light training and may feature, Clark is suspended.

  14. Happy New Year everyone! My first New Year’s Day waking up without a hangover, I’ve been in bed for a few days with the flu, and now I’m on a two-month dry spell to try to get the beer belly reined in. I’m hoping the football is going to cheer me up, ‘hoping’ being the operative word!

It’s a joke we are playing awful and Sunderland are passing us if the park at times though tbf they don’t look like scoring at all even we played till tomor morning they won’t score just nothing up front. Benteke showed a couple of half decent touches but that’s it. Gabby out best player so far rest if team just relying in how poor they are.

  23. sunderand are playing right into our hands we’re catching them on the break time and time again, and Cattermole seems to be having a mare.
    nice finish again from gabby, he looks good out there today but if we keep inviting them they will score eventually, this possession thing is terrible, if you are defending 75% of the game its always likely you’ll concede at some point. we really really need to sort out our throwings don’t we?
    sunderland do look bad vut they’ve been on decent form the last few games but are missing key defenders and it shows.
    I think if we keep inviting them they will score, they went to the dying mins against Cardiff getting a 2-2 so expect the pressure to pile up lads.
    hopefully we’ll hit on the break instead and finish em.

    1. Nm they are creating nothing up front we are much more likely to get a second one than them equalising they have nothing in the final third. Btw looks like ogs us about to sign for Cardiff
