First I have to say the Kit Launch festival is a great idea by Richard Franks from Counteract Magazine and I am delighted to publish the link to the Summer’s one.
However I note something in this release and maybe you can as well ? Yes the absence of any mention of Macron. This is the major occasion for any kit manufacturer. It could be the first time Villa fans see a new regime at the club and possibly new players modelling the kit.
So why is Macron missing from it ?
Of course being sensible then the logical view is that is a very bad piece by the club by forgetting the kit sponsor. Also at this stage it would be far too late to change anything regarding the kit never mind get a new manufacturer in time.
I know if I was at Macron I would be totally pissed off that we are not mentioned in this.
Do I give a f.,’k no I don’t, its pretty well known that sponcers go by club positions in leagues, in Villa’s case probably lack of being beyond bottom place.
Macron top were very poorly made in my opinion! After a few washes the logos on the shoulders started to fall off…. for £50 you expect a top that lasts for years, not a couple of months. Good riddance to Macron if that’s the case.
Not entirely sure if this is correct, I just did a quick google search and it states that we have a contract with them until May 2016:

Obviously, that may not be the most legit site or they could terminate the contract (i imagine) but surely that would cost more than its worth.
Never had a problem with any of the Macron gear. Very limited for choice this season compared to last and didn’t like this seasons training gear. Fingers crossed for better next season
I would like to see us in adidas gear.
I’d like to see us in bondage gear.
Kinky you 😉
why ? does it matter ? You seen the new Liverpool away kit, the club don;t care for the massive deal they had with Warrior.
That’s actually a very good point. Part of the supply contract is the publicising of the kit manufacturers name. Wouldn’t be surprised if it’s another amin fuck up though.
…admin fuck up…
I think it is actually an amazing admission from the club, no involvement at all with Macron. That can not be right ….
I see what you mean, in that you’d have thought the kit maker would get a mention as much as possible.
But the whole article is more about the weekend event, as opposed to the kit itself, hence I don’t think it means anything.
And tbh, I’m a million more times concerned about if we might get another crucial point (or three) tomorrow.
There is a game on ?
Actually if you believe the distraction theory it has worked perfectly.
We’re only 2 years in to our 4 year deal with macron so I highly doubt that we will change, but if we do I wouldn’t mind a bit of Adidas 😉
I didn’t rate the macron kit either, Adidas make good quality gear, but whoever it is, this lack of publicity will not go down to well.
In my view I would like to see us in either Umbro or Le Coq Sportif gear. This might be a good omen in respect of the glory years, 1980-82 where we won the league and the European Champions Cup, when the words “Champions Cup” meant just that, not Champions but you can also qualify if you finish fourth if you are English,Spanish,German,Italian Cup.
For those who have ever seen the “Golden Gordon” episode of Michael Palin’s Ripping Yarns programme, I don’t care if the kit is made in Ireland or Timbuk bloody tu or a monogram kit or with stars that light up at night. The only thing that matters is what’s inside them, pounding away for ninety minutes.
