How annoying is it that we haven’t had a game for two weeks, but have to cram games in that were postponed months ago?
Very, but that’s the way it is and there’s nothing we can do about it apart from moan.
I’ve been so bored that I’ve resorted to watching a lot of other clubs and after betting against us in the Spurs game, I’ve had a couple of small bets and am doing quite well. Don’t worry, I’m only talking a couple of quid.
The things you do to add a bit of excitement eh?
The big news is the squad news, I suppose. Except it isn’t.
Steven Gerrard says we have four players out and much has been made of it by the clickbait sites.
Bertrand Traore is out after straining his groin on Thursday. I find myself wondering what he was doing, because he wasn’t playing top notch football, was he?
Kourtney Hause is out with his ongoing abdominal injury problem and Lucas Digne is kicking a ball, but contact is out of the question.
Morgan Sanson is unavailable, but I’ve yet to read a reason. I find myself wondering if he’s had yet another strop. I wonder why?
The point here is how many of those would have featured today?
Digne, yes of course, given that Gerrard seems to think he’s the solution to an as yet unknown question, but the other three are on many fans’ list of players to be shown the door at the end of the season.
Traore and Sanson, rightly so, in my opinion, as they’ve been unmitigated disaster signings. If we had a league table for signing absolutely terrible signings and wasting money, I wonder where we’d be?
Hause is one I’d like to see us keep, but given the strong talk about us getting a defender in, I think he’ll be the one who makes way. I’d prefer to see someone else gone, but I’m sure you already know that.
As for Leicester, Ryan Bertrand and Wilfrid Ndidi are both out injured, while Boubakary Soumare is out for personal reasons.
The big news is that James Vardy has trained well and will probably feature at some time during the game. Did I hear groaning then?
I did and I’m sure it wasn’t just me. We all know what he’s capable of.
At first glance, I don’t fancy us at all for this.
In fact, I’ve bet against us again to add a bit of excitement. I’m not £20 confident though and have only gone for the tenner.
I know, I’m on a rocky road with this gambling lark.
But then again, we do have the fact that Leicester have their eyes on a prize that is the Europa conference league cup, or whatever it is, semi final on Thursday. Hence they’ll no doubt play a weakened team.
Gerrard has said that a couple of kids will feature today. I saw names mentioned in an article yesterday, but I’ve forgotten who they were. I think O’Reilly was one.
I know chucking kids in will appeal to many fans, but I tend to think this is exactly one of those games where it might not be a good idea. The game will be tough and challenging enough as it is.
But then, I’m sick of watching players who really don’t look that bothered, probably because they know that the manager doesn’t rate them and they’ll probably be out at the first chance.
We look incredibly vulnerable at the back, especially down our left, where I could comment about us previously having a left back who wasn’t injury prone, but I’d be wasting my breath.
I don’t think I can be bothered to guess at who might play, because the whole of the first team is very much of a very average muchness lately, so it doesn’t matter.
Put it this way. I think my tenner is pretty safe and I’m going to say we’ll lose 2-1.
I’d love to be proved wrong, but we just look like a side that already has the suncream and flipflops on and when the team is like that, I just think “why should I bother to motivate myself?”.
Roll on the transfer window. Although the truth is even that worries me.
Nothing changes as a Villa fan, does it?
UTV!

I’m getting bored of reading my same old posts where I don’t fancy us.
If anyone fancies writing something for the next game, feel free!
Badger – don’t think anyone else’s articles would look a lot different to yours.
Lawro fancies us to win so that’s screwed us straight away. Probably only keeping faith with his Liverpool mate.
Now – do I watch the game or continue laying sodding heavy paving slabs – decisions, decisions.
Like you I don’t fancy us but Leicester had a game Wednesday and the semi final on Thursday which might give us a chance. On the other hand they’re match fit and sharp and we’re once again having to restart our season – the stop, stop, go nature of which has undoubtedly affected us.
Just to be different, I’ll live dangerously and go for a draw – on recent form that’ll either be 0-0 or about 3-3 – who knows?
Ah well back to the paving slabs 🙂
Nice preview Badger.
Our form over the past 4 games is something like lost 4, conceded 9, scored 2.and I can’t see that run of form changing today.
I just hope and pray we don’t get sucked into the relegation dog fight, I don’t see us surviving it given our recent form.
Side announced – same old, same old.
No kids in the starting line up.
Can’t be bothered to write it down.
Looks a pretty strong Leicester line up.
if you do the same thing over and over again with the same result ………..
good luck Mr Gerrard
He needs results, full stop.
I’m not feeling much love for him amongst the fans and don’t think for one minute he’ll be allowed much tolerance.
Martinez’ confidence looks shot to me.
No wounder, with that load of rubbish in front of him.
Konsa beaten far too easily – again
Piss poor team, Bailey waste of 25 million, why doesn’t he play the youngsters, is he brainless knowing the game, I’m giving up on him now. He obviously don’t know his team players or they con him in training .
It looks to me like he’s slated them too much and now they’re past caring.
Watch Leicester’s press then watch us when Leicester have the ball in their penalty area. We just let them play out without any press at all.
Luiz is a complete wastes of space; Konsa is completely out of form and is Coutinho actually on the pitch?
Throw Bailey in for good measure and Bill has it right – piss poor
One thing we don’t do in nearly every match I watch is respect the ball in possession. We give the ball away so cheaply and needlessly so much its why we end up under so much pressure against most teams. We also have the mind-set to go back 1st instead of looking forward. I don’t know if that’s a confidence thing or whether the players in midfield just aren’t good enough or don’t work together well enough.
It’s confidence Adam, I’m convinced.
Gerrard has knocked it out of them.
The scary part is I think he’s alienated most of the players and we can’t replace them all, like he did at Rangers, because we are not going to spend a billion quid.
It really doesn’t bode well, in my opinion.
Bailey gives away a stupid free kick right in front of goal – Bailey isn’t worth anything – £25m down the drain.
Adam – the latter I think. The midfield three don’t work as a unit – look at possibly our greatest midfield three – Mortimer, Cowans and Bremner – they worked as a unit brilliantly.
I saw enough in that 45 minutes of Leon Bailey that we need to GET RID! Absolutely garbage.
You could say that about nearly all of the team at the moment, Holte.
And that’s more than a coincidence, in my opnion.
But Bailey tops the list closely followed by Luiz.
Considering we have had a two week break our players look slow in possession. Gerrard gave them time off rather than spend all those two weeks to try and get some sort of team cohesion. So the message is play crap and lose 4 in a row and you will be rewarded. 😒
I’m sooooo bored!
There’s a load of cart horses, I go along with Badger on saying he’s upset the Apple cart and its their way of retaliating, we are now fighting to say up as other teams are showing Steele and playing football.
It perhaps should be noted that for all my/everyone’s moaning, Leicester have not had a shot on target.
My tenner is looking like a goner.
Except Vardy has just come on.
We’re trying to give them every opportunity with stupid fouls.
Bailey is not only poor he’s clearly brainless as well.
Why hasn’t Gerrard changed anything – we’re being overrun.
Please explain to me as to why we don’t use our young guns who have the need to go forwards in football. I now have lost faith in Gerrard in understanding the game. With Vardy coming on they will send the long ball and he will score.
Oru on for Luiz
Iroeg, that is.
Another stupid brainless foul by Konsa this time – Barnes now on who likes scoring against Villa – as does Vardy.
Rodgers giving Drewsbury Hall a message, ball through the middle …
Buendia has done more in 5 minutes than ……
Naka on for Ramsey.
Why didn’t he come on for Luiz?
I don’t get it, at all.
Good shout Badger draw, 0-0 ..
Did I forecast a draw and 0-0 as a possibility 🙂
I’ll take it – we actually do need the points.
