Leicester 1 – 0 Villa; Total rubbish

Well, that was about as poor as it gets for me.
Yet again, we kept possession, passed it around a lot and basically created next to nothing.
A measly one shot on goal sums us up and says all we need to know.

The really disappointing thing is we weren’t playing one of the top teams. This was Leicester City, who while they’re on a decent run at the moment are still bottom of the table.
Still, Leicester should be feeling pretty good after this game, as they’re only 5 points behind us and the way we’re playing lately, we look eminently catchable.
Looking at that same table, we’re only 3 points above the relegation places.
Are those of you who think we’re going to end up mid-table still feeling comfortable? I’m not.

And then look at the current form table. We’re bottom with 3 draws and 3 defeats and when you consider who we’ve played in the last 4 games, that makes me even more uncomfortable.

It occurred to me during the game that Paul Faulkner said that Randy Lerner watches every Villa game and I found myself wondering if that was really true. If it is, what on earth must he be thinking?
If I, as a rabid Villa fan for far too many years find us incredibly hard to watch, surely he must be bored witless?

You’ll probably notice that I’ve hardly mentioned the game.
That’s because there’s very little to talk about, yet another red card apart and the scary fact that Leicester fully deserved their win.

When will this tedium end? is the question I keep asking myself.

Please Lerner, just do something. Anything: as it surely can’t be worse than the utter rubbish that we’re having to endure at the moment.
I’m beginning to think it might be better for us to actually go down attacking, as opposed to this death of a thousand misplaced passes, which I suspect will see us struggling anyway. And I don’t recall ever thinking that before.

I won’t even mention that even a lowly club like Leicester can afford a £9 million striker and the wages that entails. Yet we apparently can’t?.
Open your wallet Lerner and get us some quality before it’s too late.
Fat chance, I suppose.

Our league position totally flatters us,we seem to be getting away with it 1 goal equates to 2 points it seems.if that worked for Leicester they’d been on I think 40 points now,by February I see us in the bottom 3 where I think we’ll stay.we have fuckall to offer up front I’m well & truly fucked off.

It’s the end lads but I say this to all them fans backing lambert you are a joke to the club get lost and support someone else lambert had a higher budget than a lot of teams yet are the lowest scores out of how many teams so if a manager with a lower budget can get his team scoring them lambert has no excuse sacking is the only way we will stay up if not don’t cry come may said this 3 years ago no one listen writing on the wall now

It’s the two options, Hel. As u say, get down there and scream for Lambert’s head, or vote with yr feet and keep the stadium empty.
With the TV money vastly higher than gate receipts, Lerner couldn’t give a fuck if just ten fans turn up.
How many more years of this? I HATE Lerner soooooooooo much. Scumbag.

ha get over yourself villa96, we all realise we are shite right now, your answer? fire the manager and any fan who supported him supports him, or who can’t see a better alternative if we do fire him. highly constructive .. someone is to blame for your poor misfortune of being a villa fan and that has to be the fans who share your opinion …

Didn’t manage to see the game today but by listening to the radio on the way home we’ve created very little again and also have zero width.

Playing narrow and keepball is very easy for defences and Without the quality unlocking them, I hate to say it…..we’re fooked.

Noticed Gabby played….. Was he as useless as ever???

4 at the back with 3 holding midfielders…. Wtf is that all about Mr Lambert.

Buy some quality or suffer playing the scum next season Mr Lerner.

    On to the next one!!

I’ll take a chance on someone with more guts that that fucking idiot.

1-0 was flattering to us. Leicester should have won by 2 or 3.

11 premier league goals. Only 6 players have scored for us this season. 0 goals in our last 4 games against weaker opposition. We are bang in trouble.

Lamberts going to be with us til Lerner fucks off,Lambert low maintenance hence a 4 year contract.that lucky streak at the start of the season played straight into lerners hands.

On paper our team was stronger than leicesters yet they could have won 3 or 4 nil.
it is down to tactics and motivation. Lambert is more interested in posseßion stats than anything else at the moment.
We need to get into the final third before we can get better there.
same team selections same tactics. The whole thing is stale and Lambert has to go.
Nigel Clough would do a much better job.

I see Gregg Evans at the Birmingham mail is trying to deflect the focus away from today’s shocking performance onto the fact that lambert is tying to sign Scott Sinclair (a player who chased the money and has hardly played for 2 years) to answer our creativity problems. The mail Should concentrate on the local people it serves and help get rid of this joker lambert.

” Clarke been playing really well but he is thick , sent off !!!! “…………………………………….

Saw the whole game and he WAS playing well and as I saw it he didn’t do anything to get a 2nd yellow….the ref just assumes that as there is a 20 player pile up and one bloke is causing it then someone else must be involved…He just stood there with the ball in his hands while the blue idiot was going mental…………….will be really hammered now for not controlling our players………..yet again we hardly made more than a few fouls with the others doing 3 times as much.

So so so totally dont understand the people running the place…why would they want us to fail and be associated with such a load of crap week in week out…….we have no option !!

Ain’t bothered bout scott I’m after the dough Sinclair . For me Tom I’m shit Cleveley is more important . Sign him for 8 mill then Lambert has lost it . Craig Gardner or Jack Grealish would not have done any worse . But we r 13th on 22 points havin scored 11 goals so it ain’t all bad lol

Lerner would be better sacking Lambert and paying him off with transfer funds. I think most Villa fans would be happy with that.

Agree Id rather pay £5m or whatever and get rid of lamberk and give new manager say £5m to play with than keep Lamberk and give him £10m. Don’t forget if we go down he will lose a lot more than £5m or so, he will lose Sky money, less money of fans, and will have to sell for a fraction of the price.
