It is a shame the Birmingham mail didn’t step in months ago.

The best thing about his sack I don’t have to watch this terrible football and we mite move up the pecking order on match of day!! 🙂
2nd point Lerner knew from yesterday that the new tv money is available next season if we stay up so he knew he has to look after his investment (pockets!) he’l have to dig deep now to get a manager to help us to servive or he will end up losing more millions!!

There’s some strange movement in the odds over the last few minutes [from what I can see] on – Jurgen Klinsmann .
Maybe just a fluke, but at least one bookie seems to have marked him down to 7/2, another has him at 6/1 ??

Me too. If we get Sven, I’m done with Villa.

I still think it’s too little too late, we missed our chance to really strengthen in the window and i’ll bet, given the new finances involved with the new TV deal, that Lerner will regret not investing more money this January, yet another blinding error by our moronic Chairman.

Can anybody seriously see us staying up this season?

But can Lerner/Fox be trusted to appoint the right man this time?

        I’m not convinced.

Nope. Said it on here on several occasions. Given his record on managerial appointments I expect another disaster. Maybe Fox will prove his worth by giving better advice than Faulkner. I’m relieved Lambert has gone, but let’s see who we get.

depends who comes in now .we obviously need to get someone in with a proven track record of been able to lift a team who are clearly lacking in confidence and the bottle has gone someone who has the ability to lift us out of the fucking shite to safety. sadly we missed that opportunity a few weeks ago so sorry lads i fear the worst

What’s changed in the last 24 hours? Well not another abject defeat, but more likely a £5B TV deal.
Its no exaggeration to say that the next appointment is the most important decision the club has ever faced. 13 games to save ourselves, especially the next 5. We are looking for perhaps another 16 points to be safe. The squad is more than capable with the right leadership, and its not just about the manager – its a coaching staff – which has been non existant for the last 2 years.
The new manager needs to come with his own ready made team.
Based on previous appointments Randy doesn’t have a clue, my advice is pick up the phone, call the Southampton board and ask them who would they choose – then go and get them.
Give Big FR. a 1 match contract, for the Cup Game – create some atmosphere, lets have a game to enjoy, maybe score a goal – then start our season again on Monday.

I just hope the board has someone lined up in the coming week, otherwise sacking Lambert only seals our relegation because I have little to no faith in our first team coaches seeing us safe this season.

Being wishful, I would hope Lerner would shout out Klinsmann for the remainder of the season and then re-address the position then, but who knows.

Klinsmann would be a very positive appointment.

Fantastic! I won’t even mind if they go down so much if they at least put up a fight.

But IMHO this squad, with even a moderately talented coach, and the right tactics have a great chance of staying up.

Why do I suddenly feel so much lighter!!!

    🙂
