The Metro has reported that Aston Villa are interested in Tottenham right-back Kyle Naughton. It’s believed that the defender would be allowed to leave White Harte Lane this January for a fee of £3 million. Naughton, 25 previously played under Lambert at Norwich two years ago during his season-long loan. A move could possibly see Naughton reunited with the same manager that gave him his League break. Naughton is capable of also playing in the left-back position, an area where Aston Villa have struggled of late.
Naughton for £3 million would be a very, very good signing. He is a solid defender who can play both left and right back, something I’m sure Lambert would like. Antonio Luna has failed to impress and the arrival of Naughton would give Lambert another option. His arrival would also allow Bacuna to cement a place in Villa’s midfield which would do him well. Bacuna has often had to fill the role of both Lowton and Luna, Naughton would instead do that job, if brought in. However I don’t see Naughton leaving Tottenham in all honesty. Yes he’s behind Kyle Walker who is much younger but he still frequently plays for Tottenham. If Lambert where to get a Tottenham player for £3 million I’d be seriously impressed. Tottenham are the worst team to do business because they always demand high transfer fees.
I won’t believe it until he signs on the dotted line.
Metro how good an information are they on sport? Its definitely a positions we need, but again midfield creators for me lacking that open the door player, and yes grealish may be doing things now but how good for us he’s not had playing time with the team.
Cheers mate just wondered where the info came from, you can’t beat it from the cows mouth.
Bill metro aren’t the best source in the world mate, where did the grealish info come from?
Giddy..morning mate. Google Jack Grealish on twitter. He has stated on his twitter account ‘i am going back to Villa on Monday’..makes you wonder if he is going to play a part against the Arse tomorrow.
Fuck off Lerner, the Villa is OURS
Watched him playing for Spurs against Liverpool not long ago. Played so badly he got subbed at half time. Should be the ideal left back replacement then!
he is OK, of the two Naughton was seen as better than Walker but that has not turned out like that. However do Spurs have the cover if Walker is injured, can not think of one. Anyway if he is not good enough to start for Spurs do we want their rejects at FB ?
Might not always be as simple as that “do we want spurs rejects”
Mata and de Bruyne are rejects technically speaking
Mata and AVFC in the same breath?
Come on behave.
Where did I mention Mata and AVFC in the same breath?
fanciful stuff i know BWS!
I would not dare to dream to link either to villa but my point is they are high calibre players that found themselves in the rejects bin.
sometimes one clubs meat is another clubs poison ..
Good god don’t know what to think now, do Villa do anything right ffs, I give in trying to out guess f,.’-ing idiots at that ground.
don’t believe a word of it, the intentions are clear, our only clear attempt at signing anyone is the 750k/1mil offer for hoolahan, that’s the area we are working in.
now if metro had of said we’re in for the ball boy from Scunthorpe I might have believed that one except for the fact we probably wouldn’t stump up the cash for his bus pass.
continually disappointed and pissed off Villan here. :/
