Fulham – Villa; Has he been sacked yet?

Well, apparently not and we can only wish.

The first thing Steve Gerrard mentioned in the Email I got from the club today mentioned how we’d got no new squad problems because Cameron Archer is fit after suffering from a bug at the weekend.
Why he even bothered to mention that, I really don’t know, as if the lad gets on the pitch it’ll probably only be for a couple of minutes anyway.
In fact, not playing Archer when Watkins and Ings are so ineffective is just one of the reasons I want him gone. If it’s the case that the manager doesn’t want to risk the kid losing confidence because of a poor game or something, that might be acceptable, if only he would come out and say that.
But it just seems like he doesn’t rate Archer at all and his comments to the Brum Mail reporter regarding Archer just heightened my disdain for him even more.

You never know, now that I’ve said that, maybe Gerrard realises how close to the bullet he is and will actually give Archer a good half an hour or so. Then again, I doubt it.

And then, the fact that Lucas Digne might have done a bit of training on grass today apart, I really couldn’t care less about what he has to say.
Which is some state of affairs. I even listened to Alex McLeish, even though I really didn’t like him.

So given that I’m finding it hard to even motivate myself to watch the game, which is on Prime video,
I’m going to give my guess as to how the game will go.

We’ll huff and puff and maybe even create some chances. We have have yet another boatload of shots.
But I don’t see us scoring more than one, if that.
And given that we still look prone to conceding, whether through Mings’ errors or not, I think we’ll concede more than one.
Hence I’m going for a 2-1 defeat.
And if it happens, I don’t know how I’ll feel.
I don’t want us to lose, yet a defeat would put Gerrard another step closer to being gone.
Which would be a good thing.

    Sigh.

  2. Back off holiday and bloody fuming, how the hell Gerrard got away from not being sacked I’ll never know. Even people I’ve spoken to don’t understand why. well tonight got to be the last chance surely, we are a laugh to other clubs the way we are run, my thinking is another defeat and agony to fans.

Have we just gone to 3 centre backs?

    Why is he still experimenting?

    The guy’s a numpty!

    No Cash, Hitch.
    Konsa to RB, I’d guess, which leaves only one question;
    Why would you?
Konsa was awful trying to go forward last time.

Gerrard’s departure can’t come soon enough.

MARTINEZ; KONSA, BEDNAREK, MINGS, A.YOUNG; MCGINN, DOUGLAS LUIZ, J.RAMSEY; BAILEY, INGS, WATKINS.

SUBS: OLSEN, CASH, CHAMBERS, DENDONCKER, SANSON, NAKAMBA, COUTINHO, BUENDIA, ARCHER.

  5. I got it wrong thinking Coutinho would start. The starting XI itself doesn’t inspire me. I will take a defeat on the chin if it means SG gone.

Just more fiddling around the edges – playing Konsa as rb should only happen in an emergency; if Cash is fit then he should be playing,

I can see Archer getting the usual 10 minutes when we’re already chasing the game…

  7. The best defensive mid in our team and apart from Dendonker (who I don’t actually rate that much) id say the only DM (Nakamba) and he’s not even given a chance this season. Let Nakamba do the dirty work and have Luiz, Mcginn going forward more where they are more effective. This lineup feels out of shape and I’m worried we will lose again tonight. If it means Gerrard gets the boot then so be it.

This team looks unbalanced – what more is there to say other than it just typifies Gerrard’s muddled thinking.

    Taxi for Gerrard.

Fulham all over us at present.
I hope the players by and large understand the vitriol is aimed at the management and not the squad.

After 10 minutes, I confirm that we are crap

Why is Bailey on the pitch?

I thought he was supposed to be a pacy winger?

Great goal line save by Mings – but we’re in the sh*t

It’s poor yet again, isn’t it?
Shots in and Fulham looking by far the better team.
The only plus is that Martinez looks sharp.

Outplayed and outclassed by another promoted team. Gerrard out now .

I’m sick to death of seeing zero movement.
Even Fulham are killing us in that department.
It’s just horrendous and leaves players with no options.
Come to think of it, it’s probably why we keep playing it backwards.

  15. Remind me again why Bailey is in the team

  16. Game over for Villa and Gerrard

Get that useless wanker Bailey off the pitch now

  22. Apparently the commentary is we lack consistency when we are consistently shit.
Hitch, I think Bailey should stay on if it helps in Gerrard’s downfall!

🙂 sad though that we’re on the point of supporting the opposition to hasten the exit of Gerrard

      1. Bum Bum avatar

On the point? I’m on for it. There is NO game plan…

After that half, even if we managed to turn it around (which we wont) in the second half, he needs gone on that alone. Just heard commentary say Leno hasnt kept cleansheet this season. So there you have it. Clean sheet guaranteed for fulham now .

Mitrovich has made a meal of that. It’s like he was hit in the face by a train. Tw@t.

Away fans silent now and looking well hacked off…Boos around the Cottage…

  24. You just know that somehow we will get a draw out this and Gerrard will survive another week
