Completely off topic does anyone have a spare ticket for Crystal Palace away or know where I can get one please? It’s sold out and I’ll be in London that day for my birthday, was going to peel off from everyone and watch the match. I can probably get in a home seat but would rather not.

Back on topic, I like Luna and hoped he would develop but it doesn’t look like it’s going to happen. Shame as I thought he was a step up from Bennett. Shows what I know…

I quite like Luna. Would be a shame if he got sold. I can’t see Bennett maintaining the form he showed against Chelski although I’d love to be proved wrong!

If we keep Bertrand and Bennett doesn’t come good than I’d say keep Luna, he showed a little more consistency for me.

Much like Bennett, Luna has had a rough 1st year at the club. Both look a threat when going forward but both clearly have a lot to learn with regards to their defensive game. Luna started so bright it is a bit alarming how and why his performances are getting worse. Now with that being said Luna may just be a player void of confidence and/or maybe just home sick, which would explain the photos. I don’t know and I don’t know what the future holds, especially with Bertrand, but if Bowery and KEA have been given the luxury to prove themselves at the club I would be surprised to see Luna leave this summer.

Marvin I have the same thoughts, there must have been at one stage a glint of being a good player, to throw him back and not make sure that he could or can be that player we are looking for, I say give him time. Still after Saturdays game what do I know, still trying to understand how we did win, after some games wev’e thrown away.

Because against the top 4 teams (Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal and City), we have the best record out of the remaining 16 teams and are the only club with a positive goal difference when facing them altogether. Shows potential in all honesty and we never once looked like throwing it away, even before Willian got sent off, we were rarely ever troubled. Should’ve won by a few more if anything and that is my only problem, is killing off games doesn’t happen, even against Chelsea it should’ve been killed off with the chances.

Bowery still hasn’t had the chance to show what he can do, bearing in mind he’s a striker and IIRC has played more on the right wing than in the position he’s good at. Which reminds me, do we still have someone called Helenius?!

kozack? broken leg mate out for the season.
as for holt I reckon he’s been more about dressing room and player morale, and maybe a face for lambert.

Quite the fan of his, was at Mallorca and am still now. Something has to be wrong to not even be on the bench. Going with the reports that he’s unsettled in England.

I haven’t been at all convinced by Luna, but I still think he’s better than Bennett, whose good performance on Saturday has done little to change my mind.
Basically, I don’t think either are good enough up to now, especially in defence.
And yes, Luna being homesick might well make sense, in which case it might be best all round if he returns.

I am sorry for the guy, but he started well but lost his form completely. As mentioned, many teams targeted our left side when he was playing. Maybe, he didn´t get the best support from the our left midfielder. Anyway, since Bertrand has been coming into our team our performances improved a lot and our defence was much more stable. If I had to make a decision, I would go for Bertrand and Bennett.

Can’t really see us signing Bertrand. I would give Bennett time to develop as back up to a more reliable first choice. Don’t see that as Luna – he is one of a number of cheaper foreign imports we would not miss if they leave this summer (Tonev, Sylla, Helenius etc)

IMO go to Swansea to get a left back. In Davies and Taylor they have 2 of the best young full backs in the league – they won’t keep onto both, and if they get sucked into the relegation scrap both could be leaving.

Ben Davies is a great defender with so much potential and a great shout. Taylor’s a good player, prefer Davies myself if we signed either of them.

Ben Davies and Jonny Castro would be two great signings this summer for our fullback positions.

glad to see Bennett showed his true form at the weekend but if it had been Luna,Bertrand,or Stevens, we would of had a five star performance from that position because for one of the few times this season the midfield clicked which has been the main cause of our inconsistency this season.now all you people that have played Sunday league football in defence and the opposition attack and you have acres of space in front of you with two or three players coming at you and you have to make a decision on who to challenge and at the last minute they switch to an unmarked player making you look a knob, is exactly the position our defence has been in for a few seasons now they specifically target the left hand side because of the gap between full back and central defender(baker) is huge and they are not backing each other up Bertrand will not be drawn as easily as Luna and Bennett but the latter two are better in attack and support the midfield which is great when the midfield are on form. if we are going to play attacking full backs a shit hot DM is a must

How about this as a left field idea. But bennet or Luna as a left midfield with Bertrand as left bk. best if both worlds then.

That’s how they played at Cardiff and Bennett has a few decent runs and crosses. I think given time to adapt to the premiership and to gain experience he could be a good wing back or even play wide left. After all he came in last year new to the league, in a struggling team in a defence that changed every week. He made some rash challenges and got found out for position which shook confidence – I reckon we need to stick with him.

Remember barry started as a left bk/centre half then became a left mid/cm in later years. I also think there is a case for maybe Vlaar playing a DM role when okore is fit and have baker alongside him.

Unless Okore grows into a leader, Vlaar’s gotta play next to Baker. Vlaar could probably play as a DM but would rather we just sign a DM… Oh wait, we have one, that’s not actually played as a DM. Kinda amazing, no?

there’s a chance of that but you need someone with both feet that can control the ten yards in front of the defence aka Mortimer, Barry, to a certain amount and what Petrov was doing which will stop the defender being pulled out of position

also big Ron was being pulled all over the shop last season until sylla was brought in which enabled the back four to hold their shape

      Totally agreed.
Vlaar was pulled all over the place, covering the kids and lack of mids. Many of us saw it.

Oohah, apart, of course, but no surprise there.

The good news is if either Bennet or Luna are sold it will not have cost us much money where as Hutton for example has.

think we’ve gotta give him till next season, as has been said he started well but tailed off although that left side has been under pressure all season, teams playing us target that side and have done for 2/3 seasons now, I don’t think he was getting too much help either when he was playing.
we’ve seen how vlarr and kea have improved after difficult 1st seasons, hell in the summer id have not blinked an eye if we’d have got rid of either of em but they’ve proved much, much better this season. it cant be underestimated the difficulty in not only adapting to the pace of the PL and the quality when compared to the 2 horse race in spain along with settling into a new country and culture.
