Aston Villa after Ba

No, not Demba Ba but Porto’s defender Abdoulaye Ba is a target for both Aston Villa and Southampton. Porto would be willing to let the 22-year old defender leave on loan but are requesting a loan fee of £400,000. However, this deal won’t happen if Porto’s star defender Mangala leaves the club with Chelsea the favourite for his signature.

Ba is a highly-rated centre-back, he has played for Senegal in the Olympics and would add strength to any defence. But is there any chance that this could actually happen? I’m at 50/50 right now, we have already signed Okore meaning we’ve got 4 defenders plus Herd the versatile midfielder can fit in. But, if it’s just a loan signing it would strengthen our defence for a season and insure that we don’t have to rely on unexperienced Baker and Okore.

Aston Villa haven’t been linked with anyone over the past few weeks, so finally seeing a link does make me a little more optimistic that perhaps Lambert isn’t done with his transfer business.

Hope PL is not stupid enough to go for that sort of deal £400.000 to take a player on loan not good business if you ask me.Only a club whom is desperate would fall for that one a permanent deal or forget it.

IF he has potential.. 400K with a fee agreed to buy in 12months is brilliant business IMO.. if he is shite we can send him back and aren’t lumbered with him..

Anyway like is aid this story circulates every window.. think its just paper rubbish..

  4. I say we go in for will Hughes at derby. He fits the bill for villa and is just what we need. Maybe Ireland and banan for him or some sort of deal to get rid off our dead wood. Maybe given and cash?

According to Sky Sports.. we are in for Ince..

    1. I just read that… crazy, but exciting. I can’t imagine he will be leaving on the cheap though.

Why ince he’s a good player but we need a creative midfielder and centre half more. If we get dm and ch in addition to ince then great if not I’d rather have dm and ch instead

      1. Oohah, Anon what the fuck is going on lads? Every time I post it disappears somewhere into cyberspace!
        It’s doing my nut in.

  7. So we now don’t want a new defender, simply because he’s on loan? We obviously need another CB, and there’s not much wrong with a loan deal for 600k for such quality if you can’t find someone of such quality to actually buy.

  8. didnt Cardiff already agree a fee earlier this summer of 8m. Im guessing thats what they would charge us…maybe we could throw Bannan into the deal!!

Would be a great signing. We splashed 8m at the end of the window last year on Westwood and Benteke.

For around 10M isn’t there a better player around Europe who cna be the lock picker we need…………..

  10. Yeah as much as I think he is a rising star we could get better abroad I reckon, spurs might get erikksen for 7-12 mil so we can deffo do better than ince for that type of money. £3 on us to win 6-0 tonight, come one!!

  11. We paid 9mil for Young and he turned out out be a gem (for us anyway) so 8mil for Ince who in comparison looks miles better than young did at Watford, I’d be all for it but as Adam says, we could find cheaper and better abroad.

  12. I agree, although there is an argument for buying young English talent. The mark ups on English players, especially talented ones, is arguably the safest investment you can make in the EPL. The best example that comes to mind would be Downing. The club overspent to sign him, injured nonetheless, and we still came out ahead with a massive profit.

  13. I do love that people are now getting the “go abroad”, although Ince is quality. Someone like Firmino, Cabella, Popov, Eysseric, Salah, Lestienne would probably cost the same amount, maybe other than Firmino who would cost a bit more but is such an amazing player.
