You have to laugh.
What’s it about?
So the wad that has bought a minority share in that lot (I don’t like to swear in the headline posts), Tom something or other, who was apparently great at that American egg throwing game, has reduced his club to the ultimate low and embarrassed them by posting the above picture.
So on the face of it, you would wonder why the Villa haven’t done the same donkey’s years ago?
The answer is simple. We have class and this bag of proverbial don’t know the meaning of the word.
Bear in mind that we’re talking about a club that has sat at a higher position in the leagues for about 20 years in it’s entire 150 year history.
And even then, I believe we were getting bigger crowds for the most part.
A quick Google shows me that an American outfit called Knighthead Capital Management, LLC, an investment outfit, which tells you all you need to know, has taken a 45.96% controlling ownership. Does that bode well? I honestly don’t know, but doubt it.
Don’t get me wrong, inferior clubs can jump up a level massively. Or at least could. Man City and Chelsea spring to mind. I don’t see how any club could do that nowadays though with these FFP etc rules.
But it’s all typical of what the Americans do.
This Tom whatever has seen what Ryan Reynolds and his mate have done at Wrexham and has seen a money making opportunity that will keep him in the news.
I think the point to note is that the Villa could have done this sort of stuff for decades, but we never have. Gloating is easy.
And Bloose have aims at a 60,000 capacity stadium. Lets see if that actually happens.
It’s supposed to be backed by Birmingham council and if it comes to fruition, I reckon I’ll be starting some sort of group to complain.
Villa park, after all has long been one of England’s foremost stadiums, simple as and I’d be wondering why we haven’t had similar assistance.
The area around the ground is similar to Small Heath, after all.
And then, even if they were to get this new ground, they wouldn’t even approach filling it.
I’m only writing this because there is absolutely nothing else to talk about.
You can be sure the Villa will treat this picture with the total disdain that it deserves and just ignore it.
Consider this Tom, me old mate.
There’s only one club in Wrexham.
There’s two in Birmingham and the one you’ve chosen is a non-contender.
Bloose, Built in Birmingham. Without a doubt.
But always second best to the Villa.
And there’s no way self promoting yanks can get round that.
Try following the Villa a bit more Bloose and GET SOME CLASS!
An excellent performance from the Villa in the first half. For a change we did not lose the second half after the B team came on, but actually scored another good goal. Buendia was very good, but might meet more physical opponents in the EPL.
I see we beat Palace to our Nice one. Understandable they were interested since the man has the physical presence of Mateta – but isn’t he still at Palace?
Another goal from the Don; could he be Villa’s trump card this season? I hope Unai doesn’t have a blind spot with this one, as I still haven’t figure out why the very limited game time at the end of last season. Note: the plaudits for his goals last season were because he shot from the right side with his right foot across the keeper with superb power and accuracy, which is relatively rare these days; I haven’t seen last night’s goal but the last one in the US was from the LEFT side with a brilliant cut with the right foot to get it on his right side and another excellent finish with the inside of the right placement rather than the power with the laces. In other words, he’s dangerous on either side! Could he and Morgan play behind Ollie and change sides at will, bamboozling defences up and down the country? I’d like to think so!
(with Ramsey and the new boy also competing for starting berths, and potentially one more coming in OR Buendia, that’s a more than decent attack!)
…I’ve just seen it – cutting in from the left again to shoot with the right. That’s confirmed then – he can score from either side. Dangerous!
Buendia as good as Felix and Asensio when he’s in the groove. Don’t forget he never got up to speed after returning from injury and Unai couldn’t use him in the run-in due to the magnitude of the games. Now, with a pre-season, I wouldn’t waste money on a play-maker; this guy’s got all the tools. I rate him, if you haven’t already guessed!
Badger, we could do with the link to the latest comments back on the right of the page, if possible. At the moment, we’ve no way of knowing if someone’s posted without scrolling through the whole thread…
I’ll look into that. I’m a bit bamboozled with it all, but I’ll try mate.
Sesko, Cunha and Mbuemo up top for United; that’s Fergie levels of quality. If they get a goalie, they may well be back in business…

Better for sure.
