Are Bloose bigger than Villa. Can they ever be?

You have to laugh.
What’s it about?

So the wad that has bought a minority share in that lot (I don’t like to swear in the headline posts), Tom something or other, who was apparently great at that American egg throwing game, has reduced his club to the ultimate low and embarrassed them by posting the above picture.
So on the face of it, you would wonder why the Villa haven’t done the same donkey’s years ago?
The answer is simple. We have class and this bag of proverbial don’t know the meaning of the word.

Bear in mind that we’re talking about a club that has sat at a higher position in the leagues for about 20 years in it’s entire 150 year history.
And even then, I believe we were getting bigger crowds for the most part.

A quick Google shows me that an American outfit called Knighthead Capital Management, LLC, an investment outfit, which tells you all you need to know, has taken a 45.96% controlling ownership. Does that bode well? I honestly don’t know, but doubt it.

Don’t get me wrong, inferior clubs can jump up a level massively. Or at least could. Man City and Chelsea spring to mind. I don’t see how any club could do that nowadays though with these FFP etc rules.

But it’s all typical of what the Americans do.
This Tom whatever has seen what Ryan Reynolds and his mate have done at Wrexham and has seen a money making opportunity that will keep him in the news.

I think the point to note is that the Villa could have done this sort of stuff for decades, but we never have. Gloating is easy.

And Bloose have aims at a 60,000 capacity stadium. Lets see if that actually happens.
It’s supposed to be backed by Birmingham council and if it comes to fruition, I reckon I’ll be starting some sort of group to complain.

Villa park, after all has long been one of England’s foremost stadiums, simple as and I’d be wondering why we haven’t had similar assistance.
The area around the ground is similar to Small Heath, after all.

And then, even if they were to get this new ground, they wouldn’t even approach filling it.

I’m only writing this because there is absolutely nothing else to talk about.
You can be sure the Villa will treat this picture with the total disdain that it deserves and just ignore it.

Consider this Tom, me old mate.
There’s only one club in Wrexham.
There’s two in Birmingham and the one you’ve chosen is a non-contender.

Bloose, Built in Birmingham. Without a doubt.
But always second best to the Villa.

And there’s no way self promoting yanks can get round that.

Try following the Villa a bit more Bloose and GET SOME CLASS!

  1. Utter scumbag club, who have no respect for themselves, imo.
I don’t want them to go bust, but look at their history over the last 50 years, owned by a total bunch of crooks and cheapskates all the way.

  2. Ah, yes. Tom Brady. It’s just come to me.
I’d honestly never heard of him before he got involved with the shit.

  3. Never heard of Brady, Badger? Oh come come, where have you been? So you don’t miss the joke – if you seen any Birmingham home matches- the opposition players before they take a throw-in will look to the directors box and dig their thumbs into the football. To see if it is under-inflated.

  4. Standard plot in Nashville. Villa’s starting XI far too good for hosts and go 2-0 up. Watkins and Malen.

Then the total substitutions dilute the quality until our defence fails. Principal culprit Joe Gauci who will never make a decent keeper – he is too nervous. Konsa not blameless either often caught in possession and not always getting or deserving the foul decision. Jimal-Aloba though, is on route to a first team place.

  5. Actually enjoyed the game although I think that if Emi had stayed on we would have kept a clean sheet. Relieved that we have Bizot as our number two goalie.
I thought that Buendia and Bailey did more than alright and this had me thinking. If Unai can get Bailey up to even 75% of his best, he will probably be better than anyone we could buy. Also wonder if Buendia could do a reasonable job in Ascencio’s absence.
Also note that Onana ran the midfield and honestly looked like an adult playing with kids. His physicality is going to be important for us this season. When SuperJohn came on he bossed the midfield. Also shout outs for Bogarde, Jimoh-Aloba and especially Malen who was immense.
It’s honestly made me calm down about incomings as I think that we could do wonders with the squad we’ve got.

  6. Yep we’ve seen big mouth Yanks before with their big plans living in a virtual world. I would though be mightily annoyed if that bust council in Brum were to hand Blues any cash – as, I suspect, would the bin men!

I also enjoyed last nights game and agree that Malen looked top class. I agree with 1874’s views about Bailey and Buendia.

We have a good quality squad, the only question mark is whether we have enough depth but with EUFA and EPL swinging the sword of financial Damocles over our heads we are limited in what we can do.

  7. Intriguing initials? In the pre-match interview with Unai in Nashville he is wearing a cream-coloured AV sweatshirt from the current range. Clearly visible in brighter white are the initials JG. Only one Villan in recent times is a JG. Coincidence?

      1. Well Joe Gauci was in the touring party. Villa may be watching the spending now, and Unai is known to be very demanding – but I don’t think that extends to taking the reserve keeper’s sweatshirt off his back to wear in a video. So who else has the initials JG? Jack Grealish.

    1. Gertcha. John Gregory is so far back the training tops would be in black and white. Still odd that Unai did not have a top with UE on it.

      1. You’re making me feel old; it doesn’t feel that far back, but it’s over a quarter of a century! Good old days.

  8. I think Villa are waiting to see what bargains are left in the central isles of Lidl when it comes to the transfer market πŸ™‚

      1. I wonder if lessons were learned after Nypan appeared to be a done, but well-publicised deal, before Shity swooped in at the last minute…

  9. You’re all worrying me now. They may carry the name of our City but never be bigger than us. The only injustice is the humiliation they caused our City of Birmingham. My worry also is Unai. Is he in his own little world of thinking fans don’t matter? I’m keeping a close eye on his way of moving us forward because we are at a standstill at the minute. Still once a Villa fan always a Villa fan .

    1. The only thing you need to worry with Unai is if he does a Gregory and decides he’s pissing in the wind. We’re not there yet, not even close. We need 2 quality signings and if we don’t have the horrendous injuries of last winter, combined with the relatively easier European program, I’m quietly confident we’ll be amongst them come Christmas. ASSUMING there are NO big name departures; if that changes, everything changes…

  10. Looks like the first signing is on his way. Evann Geussand of Nice, 24 year old. I’ve never hear of him so he must be good! πŸ€ͺ

  11. Blimey we’ve signed (well almost signed) someone.

Never heard of him! Didn’t someone post we’ll sign a player β€˜out of the blue that no ones heard of’?!

    Back up to Ollie apparently.

Ah well, assume they know what they’re doing.

  12. Glad to see we are about to sign an attacking player. Never heard of him, which makes it more exciting as I don’t have any preconceived ideas. Interesting one of the papers states he mainly plays through the centre but can play the flanks. That would appear to support Unai’s demand for multi positional players.

Bill not sure what your point is about Unai. He’s going nowhere. The owners are banned by PSR and SCR in investing to the level they want. Unai knows this and is still happy to be at Villa. We are still on an upward trajectory. Just about every player he has invested his time has improved. More over take Duran, he got him into a position where he was sold for Β£70m+. Now the Saudi club have already loaned him out and Moreno his knee manager has criticised him for his attitude. It just shows how good Unai is. He is the one manager we’ve had since Ron Saunders who you just don’t have to worry about. And my context: Lambert, Garde, MCLeish, Leary, Di Matteo, Bruce and Gerrard – just but a few.

    1. Nope – I think it’s more likely Ramsey will go if we sell any of our β€˜top’ players.

I’m still waiting to see Villa unload Dendonker, Buendia and possibly Bailey.

  13. Buendia will need replacing…Asensio still available but I’m still not convinced…
Ramsey should stay and fight for his place; he is talented enough…
A twist in the Digne tale, also; apparently he’s staying until he’s 35; Unai’s clearly a fan and rewarded him for his consistent performances.

  14. Just been reading that Digne is close to signing a two year extension on his contract. One hand I’m surprised given the drive to reduce SCR but on the other pleased because he’s one of the best and most consistent defenders we have.

Going to be a good contest for the LB spot between him and Maatson.

Assume Villa will be looking to move Marino on, on a permanent basis.

  15. Sid, don’t get me wrong. Unai has been and is an asset at Villa. I just wish he would open up to the fans a bit more. I’m not a fan of him walking off down the tunnel and not engaging with the fans. It seems he’s bigger than 40 thousand fans being at a game. I know he’s a very shewed manager and keeps things close to himself, but it’s annoying in my book.
Let’s see how he performs this season I think it’s mid table but hope not.

    1. Bill, I just get the impression Unai wants to do his job and dispense with the BS. The world is full of grand but empty statements that are meaningless. I like the way he does his talking on the pitch. That’s enough for me.
And it seems we’re signing a cracking forward!!!
As far as the ‘for sale’ list goes, maybe Emery thinks he can get more out of these players….

    2. Bill, he posed for dozens of selfies with fans, smiling like a Cheshire cat after the Spurs match last season. The guy can barely string 3 coherent sentences together. I’m not sure what it is you’re after. He’s not gonna walk onto the pitch with a mike on match day and promise a big signing like Big Ron did in ’92 before we signed Saunders. And he’s definitely not gonna serenade us with ‘My Way’! But he did shout ‘Up the Villa!’ down the mike; that’s good enough for me! πŸ™‚

  16. As for “opening up’, if he ever needs therapy, I’m sure he can find better than us lot! I’m got visions of Unai lying on a leather couch surrounded by a dozen Brummies in Villa shirts asking him to ‘awpen oop’… 🀣

    1. In case you were wondering, he does greet them with “first of all, good ebening…” 😏

      1. No he doesn’t! He pronounces it perfectly! You sound like a Gooner!!!! 🀣
        Is this match at Bescott?

  17. Meanwhile, absolutely delighted to see Buendia on the score sheet this evening. Would love to see the little maestro pulling the strings at VP like he used to. Fantastic footballer in my opinion, and I’d much rather keep him and coach him back to his best than replace with Asensio. Goals and assists potential in spades…that aside, it’s his tenacity and work rate that won Villa fans’ hearts. Who was it that called him a “a little warrior”?

  18. On holiday in Italy. Flicking through the hotel TV and find the Villa Roma match!!!! 😁😁😁😁😁
