Marc Albrighton has joined Wigan on a one-month loan. This is an opportunity for the young winger to get some games under his belt. Albrighton has recently recovered from a minor throat surgery and hopes to make an impact for Wigan. He’ll feature in their League games and quite possibly in the Europa League (unless UEFA rules dictate otherwise). Albrighton may make his Wigan debut against QPR this weekend. Owen Coyle recently admitted he tried to sign the winger during his time at Bolton.
“I’ve grown up supporting Villa,” he said.
“They’re always going to be my club and to play for them in the Premier League is fantastic.
“From the first day the fans have always been great with me and there are so many good people at the club who have helped me from when I first came to the club as a kid.
“The manager says I’m still very much in his plans and to come to Wigan to get some games under my belt and enjoy myself which will hopefully help to get back into the team.
“I can’t thank the club enough for everything they have done for me in developing me as a player and giving me this opportunity to come to Wigan and gain some much-needed game time is perfect right now.
“I aim to make the most of the opportunity.” – Marc Albrighton
I’m happy he is going out on loan, give him some game time. I surely hope is part of Lambert’s plans because I do want to see him playing for Villa again. For all we know, once he comes back he might be on the team sheet. Villa have a few young players that may also benefit from a loan move, Bowery and Chris Herd are two players that come to mind.
He is a championship player at best so although we may be at his level next season for now he should go to a championship team.
And that might just happen. His contract expires as the end of the season. I’d like him to stay, but we’ll see how he performs and if Lambert really does rate the lad
I’m at a loss what to think, when Lambert came he inherited Albrighton but was not one of the players he use regular, didn’t seem to fit in, is it his fault? Did work the wing when he played, I know he’s a Villa fan and did what he could for the club, to me a shame to him and the family that he’s not been used enough to show Villa his worth, I just hope that like others that moved on , they don’t come back to haunt us.
Hope it can be made permanat , overrated and on more money than he’s worth , showed promise at first but once the £££££££ came in lost his focus and is now crap !
