Young back to Villa?

I know I really shouldn’t do this, but after watching the rubbish on display today, I thought it was worth a laugh;

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2523806/THE-FOOTBALL-GRAPEVINE-Young-lined-Villa-return-Barkley-commit-future-Everton.html

This story is rubbish in so many ways, that it’s, just well… total and utter rubbish.

For a start, we offered Young £70,000 a week to stay, by all accounts.
So why would he accept the £20,000 we’d probably offer him?

Second, he’s a diving idiot, which is why Moyes wants rid (and fair play to him, for that).
And I won’t even mention the fact that he’d be booed everytime he stepped out onto the hallowed turf, purely because he thought he was a big fish in a little pond, who actually turned out to be a very little fish in a big pond.

That, plus the fact that he’s been incredibly poor for Utd.

Then add in the fact that Lambert doesn’t like/understand what wide players might have to offer and you see this link is just a total joke.

It is the Mail though, to be fair, so we shouldn’t be surprised.

If we were ever to re-sign him, I really think I’d never set foot in Villa park again.
It’s that serious.

And I really liked him, when he played for us.

We need a young continental manager mate, my mate tells me something was going on behind the scenes at Spuds which made the whole thing turn sour. Plus he might need a step down for the time being to rebuild his profile/rep.

I think it would be a good move, at least he’d try to play football mate

I think just maybe losing 6-0 at home to Liverpool may have had something to do with his sacking, well that and the little matter of spending over £100m.

High profile jobs mate (yes, even spuds for some unknown reason) and lots of pressure.

Young is crap as well as injury prone. All he does is cut in from the left and 99% of the time his cross either dosnt clear the first defender or just over hit and goes out. He did it in latter part at villa and any utd fan will tell you the same. Don’t get me wring if we could get him for a couple of mil on 25k a week fair enough but we will have to pay 3 times that amount at least. Forget it

Yes because 2 managers has worked for other clubs in the past so well.

Or would you expect Clarke to give up managing WBA and become first team coach?

True but what’s lamberks record in last year and a half bet it’s no better. From what iv heard Clarke is one of the best defensive coaches around if he came to us as a coach to get midfield and def working in tandem and then some up and coming manager like avb who has made his cock ups else where I think we coukd do better than lamberk. Another point worth mentioning is that AVB has the best games to win ratio of any spurs manager in the history if the club. Though they were shocking yesterday but Liverpool could be there or there abouts for the league this year and no defence can stop Suarez at the moment.

AVB is about as likely as Ancelotti – never going to happen.

Although, Spurs will find they have made a mistake by not sticking with AVB this season, which is fine by me. Let them flounder – I share no love for the lot, but common Spurs are 5 points off 4th and into the final 16 of the Europa, all with half a season left. Sure they’ve signed a lot of high profile players this summer, but with the Bale sale I think Spurs only spent somewhere around 4m? Not a huge financial loss for Champions League ambitions if you ask me. Personally, I would love for them to go for Laudrup next just to upset the balance.

Young, Milner, Downing – all these players will never play for Villa again. They were able to establish themselves in the national team and forced transfers once capped. Sure we made a profit, but for me, the lack of loyalty is mutual now.

I’d take them all back, Young, Milner, Downing & Barry. Not a bad midfield 4 that, well, certainly compared to what we have now!!!

I think every player has the the right to play as far to the top as they can, which they all have – Isn’t that what a career is all about!!??!!

Warming a bench doesn’t seem like success to me, but all good points.

Obviously money talks and fair play to them for ‘trying’ to establish themselves at a higher level. By no means do I fault them for that, but I’ve always had and issue with the manner in which they conduct their business, ie. Downing being the worse of them. Have the fame, glory, money, but at least give the appearance you actually care. Villa was always a stepping stone for these three and they took us all for granted.

Would they improve our current squad? Milner, yes. Young and Downing, maybe. Would they accept half of their current salary? No way.

No chance of AVB sadly or Lamberk getting sacked, very depressing reading for us.
We’re desperate for a young non-British coach with a passing mentality but instead we’re stuck with a mumbling oaf who can barely get a sentence out and whose idea of tactics is to hoof the ball and hope for a fluky counter attack.
But its who the sheep wanted and many still suck up to their beloved Lamberk, they got what they wanted.

I wanted Lambet in mate, it’s a little harsh to call us “sheep”. He did well at Norwich and actually played some exciting stuff. It looks as though he is great at lower levels, or bottom end of the prem at best. I think we’ll be in a nother scrap this year come Jan (and after probable signings like: The Norweigien division 3 top scorer and a “really talented” playmaker from the Kosovan Premier League)

I hold my hands up, I think Lambert needs to go, but I’m no sheep.

I thought Lambert would be good too MD but I’m really starting to lose the faith.
He appears to be clueless in both spotting and signing players (Benteke aside but everyone gets it right now and again) and tactically inept andI feel he’s totally out of his depth if I’m honest.
Just looking at tickets for the Sheffield game but at only £10 I still can’t be arsed, I think that says it all mate.

Would rather keep Lambert than AVB. He spent £100m and last 6-0 to City and 5-0 to Liverpool. At least Lambert can say that his entire squad is worth less than that! Whatever manager we could bring in would struggle. Wouldn’t mind seeing what Zola would have to offer though – was a sensational player.

Its a joke, Lamberk has humiliated us on so many occasions and the home form is simply inexdusable now, as is the terrible football we are playing. Its a disgrace on Lerner’s part that he hasn’t been sacked, but then again I expect nothing else from an incompetent, no show owner with zero ambition. Villa- you are a disgrace.

The sad fact is that whether you want Young back or not, it’s never going to happen. We don’t have the financial means nor are we able to attract one of our former players who is struggling at United, back to the club. This is how far we have fallen.

As for the managerial situation. Spurs, who have turned us over at VP with ease twice and West Brom, who completely outplayed us, have both sacked thier managers. Surely Lambert hsa to be under some pressure to produce more than what we are seeing right now. The honeymoon period is over, our team does not seem to be moving forward at all.
